My Visit to the FlemishTram and Bus Museum (VlaTam)

Hi There..... Have you ever been to the Flemish Tram and Bus Museum (VlaTam)?

Yesterday, I went to the nocturne there with my sister to meet up with a friend of the family that we hadn't seen for about 30 years. I hope you weren't waiting on my blog post to appear for too long. Yes, the tram museum nocturne was in the evening, but my sister and I met up sooner and went out for dinner to an Indian restaurant. ๐Ÿ˜‹

The VlaTam museum tells the history of tram and bus transport in Flanders. You can find the collection of trams and buses in the protected Berchem tram shed of Groenenhoek.

The over 50 restored vehicles provide an overview of more than a hundred years of urban and regional transport. Eye-catchers in the collection of the Vlatam include the first electric tram in Antwerp and a steam tram locomotive with trailer and stove heating. Photos and many objects - models, attributes, art, flags ... - tell us about daily life in and around trams and buses. They have an archive and lots of paper documentation.

The Antwerp tram started in 1873 as a horse tram company. The Compagnie Gรฉnรฉrale des Tramways d'Anvers (CGTA)  took over these former tram companies on January 1 of 1900, and they took the first electric trams into service on September 2, 1902. At first, there was a mixed service with horse trams, but after a while, all horse trams disappeared from the Antwerp streets. You can find more information about the trams in Antwerp on this page of Wikipedia.

The tour started with this Motorcar 200 that made its appearance as the first electric tram, but it still looks like a lot like the horse tram. ๐Ÿ˜Š

This tram had curtains in the beginning when they came in service, but because some people used those curtains to blow their noses or to clean their sweat, they took those curtains away again.

Can you imagine that, pretty Gross, isn't it? ๐Ÿ˜

The tram drivers called the tram below the Brilletjes (little spectacles) because they received a chassis from constructor Brill. They made them extra elegant but less powerful to serve in particular to bring the wealthier ladies to the city to have a coffee, and thus they also received the nickname the madammekes (little ladies). ๐Ÿ˜Š

I used to remember taking the tram back home from school and it would be full of elderly ladies going home from their coffee chat in the center of Antwerp. Normally I always stood up for elderly ladies and pregnant women, but not for those coffee chat ladies with their fur coats because I hated them. Sorry to say, but I have no pity for people that wear fur coats. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

They especially made the tram below to take the people from and to the World Expo in 1930.

Between 1929 and 1934, the tram company in Antwerp closed all the rounded balconies of the existing trams and replaced them with folding doors. To make sure that they could transport as many people as possible, they took out the seats. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

They preserved motor car 305 as a museum tram at the Association for the Tram Museum to return it to the original condition of 1902. It was very well preserved and with just a small restoration they could replicate the interior of the trams similar to those in times of the Second World War.

Can you see that the lights in this tram are blue? That was because in times of war they had to dim the lights. They allowed us inside this one, which was a cool extra, and I could get some shots from the interior. ๐Ÿ˜

Did you also notice that they tainted the windows and only left a small round opening to see-through? I am sure I would have become nauseous because of my motion sickness. ๐Ÿ˜ต

This is a picture of the driver's cabin. So sorry that I couldn't get a clearer picture, but that's because of the poor lighting. ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

From 1938, they rebuilt and modernized and renumbered their trams to make the series 101-233.

Normally they don't allow you on this tram, but since our friend is a volunteer in the museum, they bent the rules for us. ๐Ÿ˜‡

This one below they call the Duvel (Devil) because they were the workhorses and the dump wagons you see here were used to transport sand, cobbles, and crushed stone.

I really had to stand on my toes with my hands above my head to get a decent shot of these, but the pictures turned out great, don't you agree? Don't you dare to say that they're no good.  ๐Ÿ˜ง

In these 1907 passenger cars on the picture below, there were 24 seats, an unlimited number of standing places, and a further 9 passengers could join the balconies.

Two oil lamps like on this picture below had to provide the lighting. In winter, the chef kept the stove running, all in a wooden body. That sounds hazardous and not something that I would be comfortable with. ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

There is a lot more I could tell you, but it's time for you to get up and get some work done. Haha just kidding, no need to get up if you don't want to. Although it is best to keep off the rails.

That's what the sign above means. ๐Ÿ˜

This museum works solely on volunteers and gets totally no support from the Government so if you want to support them why not pay them a visit? There is another nocturne next Saturday, the 24th, on the 31st there is a Halloween themed event and on the 6th and 7th of November, there is a Ghost walk (under the spell of the Watman). You can find all the information on their website https://www.vlatam.be/

In my search for more information on this topic, I found that Eric KEUTGENS wrote a book about this. If you are interested in reading about this, you can find it here https://www.etwie.be/publicatie/de-antwerpse-tram-van-paardetram-naar-pre-metro (The Antwerp tram. From horse tram to pre-metro). No, I have nothing to gain from you purchasing that book.

Hope you like my blog post.....Until next time.....Have a great day

Tips on where to find a Skin Jewelry Set and Sexy Lingerie For Women - Livebetter

Hi There..... Do you like sexy lingerie for women? Do you know what a skin jewelry set is?

If not, let me introduce you to the naughty hotspot from The Netherlands?

I bet you weren’t expecting me to be a naughty girl and know about those kinds of hotspots. Never judge a book by its cover because you may be in for a surprise then. ๐Ÿ˜

My sisters would laugh out loud when they would hear me say that. They would always be the naughty ones when we were young girls. I was always the one holding back because I did not want my parents to get angry at me. ๐Ÿ˜‡

There were so many times I got punished, even when I did nothing wrong, just because my sisters would not own up to their mistakes. Moments like that would cause all three of us to get punishment. The biggest problem maybe was that I was no snitch. ๐Ÿ˜Ÿ

Not my worst trait, I know, but it was hard being disciplined when you shouldn’t have been. Still, they may not have had a conscience when they were kids, but they never turned out to be serial killers. Although you never know. Oh wow, what if they are, but I am just not aware of it? ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

Ok, ok, I am going to shut up about my boring past and talk some more about this naughty hot spot I found. It was on a hot summer night. The wind was gently blowing her hair back as she sipped her glass of wine. Wouldn’t that be a great way to start a novel? ๐Ÿ˜‚

Ok then, time to get somewhat serious again. Not too much, because that wouldn’t really be me. But what would you say if I would talk about eco-friendly, hypoallergenic skin jewelry? That sounds a lot more like me now, doesn’t it? ๐Ÿ˜„

Yesterday, I received a package from Livebetter with a lot more than I expected. The friendly lady from the shop said I could pick something I liked. Being greedy is not in my nature because I always put myself in other people’s shoes. I always try to feel what they feel and wouldn’t like it either if someone would take advantage of me, so I picked a beautiful pair of earrings. ๐Ÿ˜

When I received the package, I remember that I was thinking 'Wow that’s enormous for just one pair of earrings’. Imagine my surprise when I received all this. ๐Ÿ˜Š

They have a lot more gorgeous sets of Batacuda skin jewelry in their shop, a complete product line of necklaces, bracelets, and earrings. The designs are exclusive and made from environmentally friendly materials.

That is something that always makes me happy when brands are eco-friendly. The jewelry felt very nice against my skin, and it made me feel very elegant and special. They also are almost weightless, which is cool too. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

This skin jewelry is also a 100% recyclable, hypoallergenic, oil-free, latex-free, silicone-free, nickel-free, phthalate-free, and lead-free.

Ah, I get it, that’s probably why they are so light because there is nothing left. ๐Ÿ˜‚

But as you may have guessed, that’s not the reason they call themselves the Naughty Hotspot. They have everything you need for an exciting evening: sexy lingerie, clubwear, massage oil, lubricant, condoms, and more. ๐Ÿ˜‰

It’s not that I couldn’t have used any of those things, but most of my followers are much more into jewelry. Don’t tell me that this is not the best excuse you ever heard. No need to worry, I am going to show you a few of those desirable items here too.

Halter mini dress (silver)

Feather: light blue babydoll

Sexy body with blue lace

Now that is what I call stunning lingerie that a lot of men would love to see their women wear. Can you imagine yourself or your girl in any of them? ๐Ÿ˜

If so, this is your lucky day because you get a discount with the code RF10

Valid till the end of November on all lingerie and stockings https://www.livebetter.nl/lingerie-kleding/dames-lingerie/

Hope you like my blog post.....Until next time.....Have a great day

Tips on where to find Italian Fashion For Men

Hi There..... Are you a fan of Italian Fashion? Do you like fashion for men?

I really love the Italian Style of Fashion. It’s something that I can’t really explain, but I have always loved the look of Italian men, only as a teenager it was not because of Italian fashion. ๐Ÿ˜

When I was a young girl, I used to say to my girlfriends that the guy I would marry would have to be Italian. Not just because of their look but also because I adore their food. ๐Ÿ˜

He doesn’t like it when I talk about him, but my husband is half-Italian. I really didn’t know that when I met him. He wasn’t really the guy I was interested in at that moment, but he fell for me right away. ๐Ÿ˜

I suppose we were meant to be together, somewhat like a destiny. Turns out we really are made for each other because we have been together for over 30 years already. ๐Ÿ˜š

That’s why I was thrilled when I got accepted for this collaboration with HemdVoorHem.nl. They specialize in fashion for men, especially men's Shirts. They have an extensive collection in their online shop. Their shirts are not at all average and most of them are non-iron. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Cool, non-iron that sounds perfect to me but for this time they gifted me 2 very nice V-neck T-shirts from Alan Red in exchange for my honest opinion. ๐Ÿ˜

I have to tell you that receiving their T-shirts was not the happiest moment for me. No, not that I didn’t like them, but because of what happened when they delivered the package. Let me tell you my story. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

Some of you know that I have a chronic illness and have to cope with a lot of pain during the day, but also at night. ๐Ÿ˜ช

The pain wakes me up multiple times during the night, and that’s why I take sleeping pills. With those, I only wake up about 2 or 3 times a night instead of every hour. When I take them I have to make sure I have at least 7 to 8 hours of sleep to function. ๐Ÿ˜ž

It was still reasonably early in the morning when the postman rang the doorbell with my package. I had been up later than usual and had only slept for about 6 hours. ๐Ÿ˜ด

I didn’t want to leave the postman waiting too long and hurried to the Intercom to open the door downstairs. When I left my apartment to go check, the postman had already left the package on the stairs. ๐Ÿ˜

Since I had just come out of bed without combing my hair or anything, I wanted to rush and get back inside quickly. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

That was not the best idea because when I put my foot on the stairs I slipped. I tried to grab the railing but was halfway down the stairs before I could finally get it. At least I learned a valuable lesson: that I have to stay in bed and let my hubby get my packages next time. ๐Ÿ˜œ

Ok, back to business, let me tell you more about Alan Red first. In 1940 the Magir Company was founded in Varese, Italy. After years of producing T-shirts, polos, and sweatshirts for famous brands, they started their own label in 1996 as Alan Red & Co.

They sold their first collection in the Netherlands and a few years after its introduction, Alan Red became one of the largest specialist suppliers of fashion basics for men and women.

Thanks to their high-quality fashion for men, modern collections, and portability, they are still the market leader in the Netherlands. Because all their production takes place in their own factories in Italy, they can guarantee high-quality requirements.

Their T-shirts are very suitable to wear under a shirt. They are available with a V-neck or an O-neck in a Slim Fit and also in a Wider model, with short, long, or without sleeves. Safe to say that there is a suitable Alan Red T-shirt for every man.

When I unpacked the T-shirts, I immediately could feel that they were of excellent quality and they were nice and soft. They felt nice and comfortable, my husband said, not too tight but still a great fit.

Here are some other examples of this Alan Red T-shirt collection for men

As you can see you can find them in black, white, and blue, but you can find a lot of other classy men's clothing items on HemdVoorHem so you definitely have to go to their website and check out their fashion for men.

Hope you like my blog.....Until next time.....Have a nice day

12 Inspirational Quotes From Famous People

Hi There..... Do you like Inspirational quotes?

I just love them, and as some of you know, I regularly use them in my blog posts. I even have an inspirational quote I made myself and as far as I know, haven’t heard from anyone else before. ๐Ÿ˜

Be Happy Be Smart, Let the Sun-Shine in your Heart

Quote by Renata Feyen

So tell me, what do you think of it? Do you like it, love it, hate it, or maybe you couldn’t care less? Give it to me straight, I can take it, or at least I think I can. ๐Ÿ˜‚Normally today I would have shared a blog post about some cool T-shirts I just received. But I wasn’t home early enough yesterday to take pictures of them in a good light still. But no worries, I will tell you all about this tomorrow so check in again tomorrow. ๐Ÿ˜Š

That's why I thought it would be a great idea to share some quotes from Famous People I loved. I am talking about the quotes I loved, not the famous people I loved. ๐Ÿ˜

Let's start with some quotes on Wisdom. You can never have too much wisdom.

It's better to be a lion for a day than a sheep all your life.

Elizabeth Kenny

This is what I learned: that everybody is talented, original, and has something important to say.

Brenda Ueland

When you give yourself, you receive more than you give.

Antoine de Saint-Exupery

You can never be too happy either if you ask me, so here are some Funny quotes for you.

They say marriages are made in Heaven. But so is thunder and lightning.

Clint Eastwood

I am a marvelous housekeeper. Every time I leave a man, I keep his house.

Zsa Zsa Gabor

I cook with wine, sometimes I even add it to the food.

W. C. Fields

And these quotes are on Handmade because I am an avid lover of all things handmade.

I happen to love creating handmade ornaments even when I mess up I still have fun.

Hilary Farr

I want to make things of quality. I'm a big believer in handmade, tactile, crafted pieces. I want to keep that tradition alive.

Zac Posen

Handmade presents are scary because they reveal that you have too much free time.

Douglas Coupland

And how would you feel if I gave you some quotes on work? I hope you won't hate me for this.

The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing.

Walt Disney

Don't judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds that you plant.

Robert Louis Stevenson

Do not let making a living prevent you from making a life.

John Wooden

A somewhat shorter post than on other days, but that's cool too, right? Or maybe a quote from the movie The Shining 'All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy'

Hope you like my blog post.....Until next time.....Have a great day

Renata (Seadbeady)

Behind every unique handmade piece is a lot of hard work. It's a labor of love, and every piece you buy will make someone's day a happy day.

Tips On Where To Find Some Great Fall Recipes - Home Cooking Part 2

Hi There..... Are you hungry for some great fall recipes? ๐Ÿ˜‹

I hope you like home cooking because that’s what today’s blog is all about. Ha, I didn’t beat around the bush this time. Usually, I let you simmer some more and have you guess a bit what my post will be all about. As you can see, that’s not today. ๐Ÿ˜€

Last week I shared my first part of fall recipes, but there are plenty more where those came from. You absolutely have to read the first post I made on this topic. ๐Ÿ˜‰

https://seadbeady.blogspot.com/2020/09/tips-on-where-to-find-some-great-fall.html

If you haven’t read it, know that I am not that fond of cooking. I only cook when I have to, and I have to admit that nowadays my hubby spends more time in the kitchen than I. ๐Ÿ˜Š

But that’s not just because I am no avid cook. He often prepares all the vegetables for me because it’s painful for me to peel and chop them. The destruction of the cartilage in my hands is getting to be more and more of a problem. Soon there will be nothing left of me but a pile of bones. Maybe I can give them to my granddaughter then so she can play with them. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Did you realize that the earliest known written recipes date to 1730 BC, and they were discovered in Mesopotamia? Other early written recipes date from roughly 1600 BC and come from a tablet from southern Babylonia. Can you believe I find those kinds of things interesting? I suppose you can, but would you still believe it if you knew I hated history in school? ๐Ÿ˜

Ah, I bet you weren’t suspecting that. If you are eager to learn everything about this subject, you can find more information on this page of Wikipedia.

But I am certain people will have passed their family inherited home cooking recipes a lot earlier. I bet you have some of those up your sleeve. That doesn’t mean I can’t give you some extra inspiration. Everyday meals can be great on a regular day during the week. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Most of us have kids at home that have to get their dinner on time, and these meals have to suit a tight budget. Then there are days when you get some more time in the kitchen and squander just that bit more. Here is my second selection of great fall recipes for those special days. ๐Ÿ˜

Where To Find Handmade Sustainable Fashion Items

Hi There..... Are you looking for Handmade Sustainable Fashion Items?

Does it also make you happy to find that there are more and more shops that make sustainable fashion items? There would be a time that people didn’t care much about the how and why. Well, at least that is how I remember it from my past. People weren’t that much aware that things like Sustainable fashion mattered. But have I got a secret for you. It does. ๐Ÿ˜€

Today we have to take into account not only how we style ourselves but also what shops select to make their clothes off.

The problem for me is that before I can do that, I will first have to find my perfect fashion style. I dropped a lot of weight these past few years and that makes me lost again. Can you see the giant pile of fat behind me trying to keep up? ๐Ÿ˜‚

No, seriously, my head still hasn’t adapted to my new body. Sometimes I still see myself as that chubby woman I was for so many years. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Would you like to know more about my weight loss journey? Maybe you should read the blog I made on that a few weeks ago. https://seadbeady.blogspot.com/2020/07/how-my-gastric-bypass-turned-my-life.html

Although I have to say, there is one disadvantage of getting skinnier at a certain age. When your face gets less round, the wrinkles get more visible too. I hate that part, even though people say I look younger now. I shouldn’t be unhappy though because people still estimate me about 5 to 10 years younger. ๐Ÿ˜

It has to be something I inherited from my dad. I still remember my mom always wanting my dad to grow a beard. Without his beard, he would look so much younger. My mom said that one time when they were having a walk. People would mistake my dad for my mom’s son. Impossible because I had no brothers. Ok, at least not that I am aware of. ๐Ÿ˜‚

So here I am, still looking for that perfect dress for me. The most important question is what kind of dress fits my new body type best.

Wikipedia’s classification talks about 5 different body sizes.

V-shapes have smaller buttocks, bigger chest, and wider shoulders. This is a more male shape and doesn’t fit me one bit.

Hourglass shapes are significantly narrower in the waist than in the chest region. Nope, that is not the one I resemble either.

The Apple shapes have a wider stomach region than their hip section. Also, more of a masculine figure, so I pass on this one too.

Then there is the Pear, Spoon, or Bell figure with a wider hip section than the upper body. This may be a more feminine shape, but it is not mine either.

Last but not least, the Rectangle, Straight or Banana shape with relatively similar hip, waist, and shoulder sections. I almost thought there was nothing in it for me, but this is the one. ๐Ÿ˜

Ok, I have bored you enough with chitchatting about myself. Time to tell you something about this Etsy shop I came across a few days ago. I was so impressed by their clothes I asked them if I could write a blog post for them. ๐Ÿ˜„

They believe that all women have an Inner Muse, and that’s why their shop name is LeMuse. It’s a family business that was born years ago. They are proud to be a part of sustainable fashion and are glad to be using natural fabric in their creations. Their passion is all about making natural, comfortable, and minimalist clothing. They want to make women feel wonderful, radiating, and elegant without harming our precious environment.

Let me show you some pretty things they have in their store ๐Ÿ˜Š

Women Winter Dress, Black Sweater Dress

Women Red Top, Long Sleeve Top

Wool Sweater, Loose Sweater

Deep Blue Dress, Sailor Dress

Women Cardigan, Teal Cardigan

Those are my picks for today..... So tell me what you think about them..... Do you love them as much as I do? ๐Ÿ˜

Hope you like my blog post.....Until next time.....Have a great day

Renata (Seadbeady)

Cooking Tips On Where To Find Some Great Fall Recipes

Hi There..... Do you enjoy cooking a little? Or maybe a lot? Do you have some great fall recipes up your sleeve? Or did you come here to get some cooking tips?

Sorry to say so, but I am not the most avid cook..... I can’t say that I ever was..... Safe to say that I do not have any blog posts on great fall recipes of my own ๐Ÿ˜„

That reminds me of the time I was a teenager..... We all enjoyed helping mom making special things for the Holidays..... We would, for instance, make our own potato croquettes..... First, my mam would prepare the mashed potatoes and we would dip them in egg white first and then in some breadcrumbs..... And afterward, we would roll them all by hand ๐Ÿ˜‹

Did you ever make potato croquettes from scratch like that? I bet you didn't ๐Ÿ˜‰

Those were literally about the only times you would find me in the kitchen..... Only on special occasions when we would try out new things or new recipes..... Simple everyday meals didn’t really interest me that much..... My sisters would always do their part and help mom out with cooking throughout the year..... But I hated ordinary meals so badly that I would always try to escape ๐Ÿ˜–

That’s why my mom invented a stupid new rule..... If you wanted to take part in the cooking on special occasions..... You would have to have cooked at least 10 meals during the year..... Ooh my, that really didn’t make me happy, not the least bit ๐Ÿ˜ž

Some years I didn’t even make it to 10 cooks..... I know, hard to believe, haha..... 10 times a year doesn't seem that much..... But it was way too much for me ๐Ÿ˜‚

Well, at least now you know why I don’t have a food blog..... But that doesn’t mean I am going to deprive you of great recipes or cooking tips..... As Jim Rohn said, ‘To solve any problem, here are three questions to ask yourself: First, what could I do? Second, what could I read? And third, who could I ask?' ๐Ÿ˜

Thus I solved the problem at hand..... I asked some of my Blogger friends for recipes and before I knew it I had too many of them..... So I am probably going to do another blog post like this soon..... I have always had a problem with turning people down..... Why would you turn them down if you don’t have to? And I am not the only one who seems to think this way..... Steve Wynn said, ‘Money doesn’t make people happy. People make people happy.' ๐Ÿ˜Ž

So here are the first fall recipes I picked to share with you today..... They are Dutch recipes, but I will translate the ingredients for you..... You can always use Google Translate if you want to know more..... And if you are really stuck, you can always ask me for help ๐Ÿ˜‹

How to connect with European Brands or Small shops and Bloggers or Influencers

Hi There.....Would you like to connect with others? Yes..... Cool..... I might have the perfect solution for you..... No..... Ok, I am cool ...
