Interview with Fashion Designer Lauren DeCarli

Hi There..... Are you ready for another Fashion Designer Interview? A view behind the scenes of the Fashion Industry?

I hope you love them as much as I do. I really want to know, because if you like these interviews, I am going to find some more Fashion Designers. Unless they find me, that would be even better. 😄

I think they deserve to be in the spotlight. Don't you agree? 😊

That gives me a new idea. Maybe I should include jewelry designers too. After all, they are also a part of the fashion industry. I have to be careful not to get too many ideas because all those ideas have to translate into blog posts afterward. 😕

Always remember, "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.". That's what Jack from The Shining said. If you know the movie, you understand that it's not a good thing to do too much work. Thus, I would suggest to sit back, relax, and read my blog post. 😏

I have to admit that these kinds of posts are easier for me. All I have to do is talk some nonsense, copy and paste the Fashion Designer's answers and do some editing. 😁

After all, as Roald Dahl said, "A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men." So if there are any of these wisest men reading this blog post, I am sure they will relish my nonsense. Otherwise, too bad. 😂

The designer I am featuring today is Lauren DeCarli. She is the 30-year-old Founder and Chief Creative Office of Paneros Clothing.

What kind of work do you do, or what are you studying to be?

I founded Paneros Clothing, an ethical and sustainable clothing brand that focuses on using smarter fibers & fabrics, responsible manufacturing, quality over quantity, limiting pollution, and limiting waste.

As a founder of a small brand, I wear a lot of hats, but the bulk of my work is designing our ready-to-wear women’s collection and working on our locally made limited edition upcycled products, content creation, social media marketing, and fulfillment.

Is fashion important to you? Why?

Fashion is very important to me because it allows you to transform yourself, it’s something anyone and everyone can take part in, it’s creative, and it allows you to express yourself and evolve continually. It’s self-expression, which I believe is so important.

What are your successes and how did you achieve them?

Within the last 12 years, I have worked my way up to Senior Designer of a major fashion company and launched my own sustainable clothing brand. I achieved my successes by working really hard, not giving up, taking risks, and learning from others.

Working in the industry, making mistakes, making connections, having successes, and learning what I wanted to do, and knowing what I didn’t want really helped me to launch my company.

While designing at my previous company, I never let my status get in the way of learning. There was never a job I felt I was too good for. This helped me learn a lot about the entire process and all the minor details and processes that go into a business.

Is the name of the Brand important to you when you buy clothing?

When I was younger, it definitely did. I think I and many people see a brand name as a status symbol. Now, I think of the brand name on a broader scale.

For example, designer brands are usually of higher quality, nicer fabrics, better garment construction, etc. so now I really look to them for their quality aspect as opposed to a status symbol.

I look at brand names differently than I used to in terms of what does that brand stand for. I look at their values, their practices before I decide if I am going to purchase from them or not.

Describe your personal style of clothing?

I have a very eclectic personal style. It all depends on my mood or where I’m going. I really appreciate many styles and like that I don’t have to restrict myself to wear just one style of clothing.

It’s fun to mix things up and to bring out different feelings. Some days I feel very feminine and I’ll wear a dress with lots of ruffles and other days I feel more tomboyish.

How did you find your personal style? Do you have a signature look?

I really just shopped what I liked. If I wasn’t into a certain style, I didn’t buy it. I also know what looks good on my body, so I’m not afraid of not following a trend if it doesn’t work for me. I don’t have a signature look; I like to try out fresh looks every day.

Do you have an influence on other people’s clothing style?

I think I have an influence on other’s style on a small scale. My friends and family will often ask for my opinion on their outfits, or what to purchase for a specific occasion.

What are in your eyes the best trends at the moment?

I think the voluminous, oversized sleeves are a trend that you can’t go wrong with. It’s something that can stay in style forever and can be dressed up or down. I’m also a sucker for a great blazer, whether it be oversized or more fitted. I don’t think you can go wrong with adding a blazer to your look and am loving the suiting trend.

What are in your eyes the worst trends at the moment?

I think the fast fashion trend is one of the worst trends since it’s so bad for the environment. They make the products cheaply with poor quality and poor fit. In most cases, the people making those clothes are not being compensated fairly or working in excellent conditions either. Regarding a specific trend, I think the whale tail should go away for good.

What kind of fashion advice would you give us?

I would say to find out which silhouettes and fits compliment your body and don't worry about being trendy or not. Find quality, timeless, but not basic styles, that look great on your body, and make you feel great and you’ll keep them forever. Fashion is all about how you feel, so don’t get caught up in being the trendiest if they don’t work for you. Stay true to yourself.

Who is your style icon and why?

Right now I would say Harry Styles because he’s not afraid to break out of the traditional masculine mold. He is having fun wearing different styles and looks and wears what he enjoys. He’s not worried about what others are going to think and he is dressing for himself, not for anyone else.

Is there something else you would like to share with us?

When you are shopping, I suggest researching the brand to make sure their values align with yours. Are they actually practicing what they preach? Are they just greenwashing consumers?

I just love those garments. They are so very feminine and romantic, if you ask me.

I have to admit that I didn't know what this whale-tail fashion trend was, so I looked it up. It's not an actual garment, but it's when the woman's thong is emerging from that garment. I couldn't agree more with Lauren that they should ban that trend forever.

What is a Hashtag? The Best Instagram Hashtag Generator Tool

Hi There.....Do you use an Instagram Hashtag generator? Ah yes, what is a hashtag?

Don't worry, they aren't drugs, and I will not tell you how to cultivate Hash. 😁

I wouldn't even know where to start, to cultivate anything. If there is something I learned in the past years, it's that I don't have a green thumb. Keeping plants alive is something that is really hard for me. 😏

I remember a time though when they didn't die by my hand. About a bit over 10 years ago, I had a cat called Ziggy. He was the sweetest and most tolerant cat I ever had. 😍

Then again, he had a terrible habit of loving my plants a bit too much. So much even he ate them and often just pulled them out of the soil. No matter what size or kind, he just had to destroy them. Even a cactus was not safe. 😂

To the point of this blog post again. Did you know that they call the # sign on your keyboard a hash mark? Social Media turned this sign into a symbol used with a tag in order to get found better on searches. For example, the hashtag #jewelry allows people to find all the posts made or tagged with this hashtag in it. 😊

Some of you that have been following for a long time may know I already talked about this topic, but I had so many questions on where to find great hashtags, that I decided, just like in fashion, to give this post a fresh look. 😉

So about one and a half years ago, I had the chance to try out Flick, an Instagram hashtag generator tool. It helps you grow your account, business, or influence by reaching new audiences on Instagram.

So what can this tool do for you?

Find quality hashtags in a matter of minutes.

Drive more impressions, profile views, and follows from untapped audiences.

Includes banned/flagged hashtag checker

40 suggestions for every search

Filter using key hashtag metrics

Works in 20+ languages

The tool splits up the keywords into Low competition, Medium competition, and High competition. I mostly use the ones with Low competition because it is very hard to get found or rank for the higher ones. Since the High competition hashtags are so popular, they are being used by millions of people, so when you use them nobody will notice your post. That's not what you want. 😜

Organize, manage, and copy hashtags with ease.

Create a centralized location for your favorite hashtags and access them from any phone, tablet, or computer.

Dedicated mobile app for Collections

Build and experiment with different lists

No more wrestling with your notes app

You can start collecting the keywords you will use more often. You can sort them any way you like to see what works best for you. Don't use the same hashtags repeatedly, though. It's a good idea to use a variety of hashtags on your posts and stories so your posts can reach different communities and new potential followers. 😃

Uncover which hashtags are performing best.

See where you post ranks on the hashtag feed and receive detailed insights into your hashtag performance.

Build a hashtag strategy on auto-pilot

See the hashtags you've ranked on

Data-driven insights on your hashtag usage

This is such a significant feature of this tool, and I really love it. You can analyze your Instagram posts and see engagement rate, how many hashtags you ranked for, reach, impressions, likes, comments, and saves. This way you can find out if you are on the right path or need to mix it all up again and rethink your strategy. 😕

Never be limited by your location again.

Find new hashtags, or access, edit and copy the hashtags you've already stored in your Collections, from your phone.

Find hashtags on the go

Access hashtags from Collections

iOS & Android App

Another great feature, if you ask me. You can download the app on your phone and access it no matter where you go. 😍

And don't worry that you might find it all too complicated cause they have guided video courses, a comprehensive collection of articles on how to use the platform, interactive tutorials, and a help center. 😊

And you can try it out for free. What more could you want. 😚

Review about the JouwBox 11 - Natural Products - Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Healthy Lifestyle

Hi There..... Do you like natural products? Do you like Extra Virgin Olive Oil? Would you like a more Healthy Lifestyle?

I think I’m on the right path now. Since my Gastric Bypass, my eating habits have completely changed. 😄

Even though I could often restrain myself, I had some very nasty habits and certainly not the most healthy lifestyle. It was a constant fight between the good and the bad me. It felt as if there was some kind of demon in my head saying ‘Go on, don’t be a pussy, take it if you want it, one won’t hurt you, and nobody will know’. 😧

Then on the other side, the voice of reason was saying ‘Don’t do it, it’s not good for you, you are way too fat already, you are going to get caught’. I know that voice of reason was a bit cruel sometimes. Guess I am lucky nobody knew what was going on in my head or they would have put me in a mental institution. 😂

One of my problems was that I did not seem to have a stop button. There was always room for more. Not that I blame my parents, but they weren’t the best role models on that point. I remember times when we would sit around the table having eaten all so much we had to unbutton our pants to make room for our swollen bellies. Another problem was that my food stayed in my intestine too long and nothing seemed to come out. 😏

Things couldn’t be more different now. It’s as if they have brainwashed me. Oh my, what if they did? 😲

I suppose the fact that you can’t eat any sugary foods in the first few weeks made the difference for me. I have got no more sugar cravings, even better I don’t even like sugary foods anymore. New Year’s eve I joined in to eat a piece of biscuit cake, but I didn’t like it. There are so many things I used to love but just don’t like anymore, and I would be crazy to learn to eat those things again. I may be a bit crazy, but not that crazy. 😁

But if you understand the Dutch language, this blog post might help you. In my JouwBox there was a book from Joël Goudsmit, Reboot Je Gezondheid in 24 uur (Reboot your health within 24hours). What does their website say about this book about a healthy lifestyle?

Reboot your health in 24 hours has become the book the writer was looking for himself but could not find: a book that summarizes everything about your health from A to Z in one cover as concisely as possible.
You can immediately apply what you read. The book takes you through all kinds of daily habits and morning, afternoon, evening rituals. The writer put on honest and, above all, critical glasses and tried to make you think about which (un)healthy choices you make (un)consciously and what the effect on your health is.

He has written all the knowledge and practical experience gained in an understandable language; He tries to answer all your health questions; He gives tips and describes fun facts, interspersed with facts, practical checklists, and several handy recipes with which you can, for example, make toothpaste, washing-up liquid or deodorant. Thanks to the tips and handy checklists, you will find out how you can change your daily habits to improve your health and environment.

In the book you will learn:
- Why you should shit squatting
- That you should only wash and care for your skin with natural products that you can actually eat.
- Why you should only eat seasonal fruits.
- To spend less time on your screen.
- How much water you should drink in a day and that 8 glasses of water a day is wrong.
- That you have to exercise in different ways to obtain physical health.
- That the air in your home is often even more polluted than outside.
- How to recognize healthy and unhealthy foods and products in the supermarket.
- Why you should cook with healthy pans.
- Why you should wash with cold water.
- That modern chewing gum mainly consists of plastic.
- How you can clean your house naturally.
- That you should only drink a few cups of coffee a week.
- Why counting calories is a waste of your time.
- Why electro smog could harm your health.
- How to make your own toothpaste, deodorant, and detergent.
and so much more!

If you are open to change, Reboot your health in 24 hours can become your guide on the way to more health with which you will not only make your life healthier but also for your fellow human and the world.

There are a lot of things in this book I didn't realize needed changing. The book makes you aware of everything around you, not just what you eat or use on your skin. 😊

I thought I was rid of most of my bad habits, but this book gives you a completely fresh perspective on life.
The book contains so many tips and handy checklists on how to improve those habits. Some of them are so straightforward that it makes you think, why didn't I think of that. 😮

The other one I would like to tell you a bit more about today is the Biological Extra Virgin Olive oil from Olive Art. What does their website say about this extra virgin olive oil?

This delicious Greek organic olive oil from Olive-art is of top quality and has already won several international "Taste Awards". The olive oil comes from Crete near Mylopotamos in the province of Rethymnon. Here, the famous Koroneiki olives are grown on a family estate in the best possible conditions, such as soil and microclimate, to produce excellent olive oil.

That is why this region and the olive oil have been awarded a Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) status. This oil is cold-pressed and (unlike most industrial oils) not refined. In this way, many valuable substances are retained that would otherwise be filtered out. This ensures fragrant oil that has a soft taste and in which you can still taste the origin. The organic oil is certified by the Organization of Control and Certificate for Organic Cultivation.

Picture by Andreas Lischka from Pixabay

I didn't want to use this olive oil for just frying some vegetables or meat, so I used it to pickle my cucumber. I usually do this by slicing the cucumber, adding olive oil, vinegar, salt, pepper, and dried chives. 😋

I had to use a picture from Pixabay because I forgot to take a picture of my cucumber salad, but it looks a lot like mine. I know, but my excuse is that I am getting old and old people forget things sometimes. 😄

You can really taste that this isn't your standard olive oil because of the delicate flavor. I haven't tried it yet but I am thinking of making the famous Italian Aglio e Olio Spaghetti with this oil. I can imagine this being a perfect choice. Ooh, I am looking forward to trying it already. 😋

Review about the JouwBox 11 - Rosewater Spray and Mild Hand & Body Wash

Hi There..... Do you like Natural Products? Would you like me to tell you more about the Rosewater Spray and the Mild Hand Wash from my JouwBox filled with natural products?

First things first though, I wish you all New Year with lots more freedom to do what you love. "Each year’s regrets are envelopes in which messages of hope are found for the New Year."- John R. Dallas Jr. 😘

Did you have fun on New Year’s Eve? I sure hope you all did. Even it was in a smaller circle for most of us. No fireworks, no parties, home before midnight. Even Cinderella was allowed more. 😏

I have a lot of fond New Year’s Eve memories, with the entire family on my dad’s side, when I was a young girl. I remember playing outside with our nieces and nephews in between meals. Often it had snowed or frozen. We didn’t mind the cold. We would have snow fights, make snowmen, or slide on the ice. 😍

There would be gifts for everyone, and lots of drinking and laughter. My aunt would always dress up and put on a crazy show. She was a born entertainer and there never was a dull moment. 😀

At midnight everyone would sit around the table, and she would always sing the same song. It wasn’t a real song, but the words were French. It sounded like the song of a young girl that hadn’t learned the language yet. The words were something like this "C’est la tu passé de raderie dera, C’est la tu passé, Ceçi sont tous trompée." 😄

She would always start with a napkin in her left hand and pass it on to her right hand. Then she passed it to the person next to her. He or she then had to pass it on again until she stopped singing. The one holding the napkin would have to give a gift to someone. I know, my family is a bit crazy and I bet that rubbed off a bit on me too. No worries though, it doesn't hurt a bit. 😉

How about I stop babbling and tell you more about this Bulgarian Organic Rosewater spray from Alteya Organics? What does their website say about this Rosewater? See, I can be serious if I want to. 😄

It is bottled in the heart of the Valley of Roses in Bulgaria. Alteya’s certified organic Bulgarian Rose Water is the world’s most exquisite 100% pure, natural, organic flower water. The beautiful fragrance, special qualities, and plants’ synergy of this organic rose water are well known all over the world.

Alteya’s Pure Organic Rose Water is a Therapeutic and Food Grade product. By using a unique distillation technique, which embodies century-old traditions and modern technology, they distill a special grade rose water that completely preserves the synergy of the rose plant.
100% organically grown and ethically harvested from the family rose farm in the heart of the Bulgarian Rose Valley.

Benefits:
• Therapeutic, cleansing, and detoxifying
• Anti-inflammatory, acne-preventing, and balancing
• Anti-aging and moisturizing
• Rejuvenating, stimulating, and harmonizing
• Digestion-stimulating and anti-septic
• Food and beverage flavor enhancer
• Rejuvenates, hydrates, beautifies
The Rosewater Spray is Recommended for all skin and hair types

What's not to like about this very refreshing natural product. I sprayed it on a cotton pad and gently rubbed it into my face. It was very refreshing and has a wonderful scent. But you can spray it anywhere on your body, even on your hair. I am definitely going to try it out next time I have been in the sun too long. 😎

The other product I planned to tell you more about today is the Hand & Body wash from Piroche Cosmetiques. What does their website tell us about this Hand Wash?

It's a bottle with natural mild hand soap and shower gel all in one. This cleansing gel is revitalizing and refreshing because of the mint. The sage in this hand wash has an antioxidant effect and the addition of thyme makes this hand & body wash antiseptic and wonderfully fragrant.
The hand soap is gentle on the skin and also suitable for children.

You can use it throughout the day to wash your hands (also easy to carry in your purse, so you don't have to use synthetic hand soap). It can also serve as a shower gel for the entire family. Apply the product to damp skin, massage, and rinse.

The essential oil of thyme, sage, and mint are the active ingredients of this hand wash.

If I try out new products, the first thing I usually do is dive my nose into them. This hand soap has such a wonderful fragrance as if you are in a sauna. You can really pick up that thyme and mint scent. 😍

I think it's perfect to take with you on your holiday because of the handy size of the bottle. What could be better than a refreshing shower after a hot sunny day? And your skin feels nice and soft afterward. 😘

Interview with Fashion Designer Desireé Marie Singletary

Hi There..... Have you always looked up to High-End Fashion Designers?

I couldn't afford their clothing when I was a young girl but have always been a fan of the Dolce & Gabbana fashion designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana. No, not of them personally. I have never met them, but I'm a fan of their clothing. 😍

Not that I could ever dream of asking them for an interview on my blog. Oh my, that is something I can only dream of. They make the most amazing garments. I really love how colorful their clothing is. Ah, too many people hide away behind black and grey. The world needs more color, if you ask me. 😉

This is only my second fashion designer interview, but who knows the designers I feature may get famous one day too. Everyone has to start somewhere, and what better way than being the next star on my blog? 😍

The designer I am featuring today is Desireé Marie Singletary. She is the 30-year-old owner and Designer for Desireé Marie Design

What kind of work do you do, or what are you studying to be?

Bridal design, bespoke pieces

Is fashion important to you? Why?

Yes, fashion helped me become more confident, and it is fun! I want to bring this experience to every bride/client I work with.

What are your successes and how did you achieve them?

I felt pretty successful after completing a bride's custom gown and 5 custom vests for her groomsmen
I achieved this by managing my time and working closely with my clients. I also received Austin’s Best In Style from Austin Wedding Day Style Magazine in 2017 and 2018.
I did this by working with the magazine and getting published several times within those years.

Is the name of the Brand important to you when you buy clothing?

No, I did not grow up rich, so I and my mom would always argue about brand names, and I eventually learned that fashion is more about expressing yourself, not advertising a brand you love.
So I began shopping at the thrift stores with her for all my clothing, and eventually was altering the pieces, and this led to taking fashion classes and the start of my fashion journey.

Describe your personal style of clothing?

Eclectic. I love all eras of fashion, and I enjoy experimenting with new trends and old ones. At the moment, I am into boho and 70s trends.

How did you find your personal style? Do you have a signature look?

I would define my personal style as fashionable and preppy. I say fashionable because I am mainly influenced by fashion influencers or even movies. Preppy because my looks are usually bright, fun, and feminine.

Do you have an influence on other people’s clothing style?

Yes, I am a stylist as well for Stitch Fix, so I am sending clothing and accessories to people every day.

What are in your eyes the best trends at the moment?

I believe the best trends at the moment are colorful wedding dresses and embroidery on wedding dresses.

What are in your eyes the worst trends at the moment?

Underwear thongs showing or underwear thongs being part of a dress.

What kind of fashion advice would you give us?

Just to have fun! Stop worrying about what people will think and think about how fashion makes you feel!

Who is your style icon and why?

Liz Cherkasova from Late Afternoon style blog. I have been following her for 10 years! Back when fashion blogs first came out! 😮

Is there something else you would like to share with us?

I work with brides to create their dream dress! We work one-on-one sketching, picking out fabrics, and designing your one-of-a-kind look. I also love to work with brides who already have their gown and we can alter it to fit you perfectly or add custom changes.

Wow, aren't those designs amazing? If you are thinking of getting married soon, be sure to check out their website.

Hope you like my blog.....Until next time.....Have a nice day

Where to find a gorgeous luxury fashion mask - Vanity Couture Designer Face Masks

Hi There..... Do you like to wear masks? Would you rather wear a luxury fashion mask or a clinical one?

Not that I like it that much, but it seems like we will still have to wear a face mask for a while. If we have to, then at least I would rather have designer face masks. How about you? 😊

I was wondering, have you ever been to a masked ball?

I have, but it is such a long time ago. I don’t think I told you before, but I took dancing classes from the age of 18 to 22. 💃

I learned classic ballroom dances like the cha-cha, tango, jive, samba, quickstep, rumba, and lots more. Oh, you would have liked to dance with me because I had some moves in me. 😎

We would have lessons twice a week. On Saturday, the dance school held dance evening for couples and on Sunday dance evening for the younger people mixed with disco, French cancan, Cowboy dance, La Bamba and so on. 💃

I loved those Sunday evenings, not just for the dancing, but there were quite a few cute guys on that dancing floor too. I may have been shy, but I got invited to dance more than once. Ah yes, that was way before my wrinkles showed. 😏

The school also organized special evenings from time to time, like a New Year’s eve ball or a masked ball. I didn’t have that much pocket money, so I had to get creative. One time, I remember I made the costume myself from scratch. 😊

I used a black T-shirt with a V-neck and cut off the bottom. I had bought myself some fairly cheap fabric and made a layered skirt out of it. I can still see the fabric in my mind. It was blue with large black dots. Then I attached the black T-shirt to the skirt and that would be my flamenco dress. 😃

After I had finished that, I also made 2 large hoop earrings and a ribbon for my hair. In the shop, I bought myself a black spray to make my hair totally black. I put on some blue eyeshadow and borrowed a red lipstick from my mom to make that last touch. I was going to make an impression, if not on the dancefloor, I would in the La Bamba kissing the guys with my red lipstick. 😁

Ok, enough about me. Let's talk some more about that gorgeous luxury fashion mask I was talking about. Or should I say masks? Vanity Couture sent me these 3 beautiful designer face masks in exchange for my honest review. 😍

They make this gorgeous sparkly mask from glitter knit fabric. It has 3 layers and there is a special pocket for the filter you get with the mask. What I find especially handy are the ear loops with which you can make it fit perfectly, and they are nice and soft. I paired it with a red blouse to get a warm look. 😄

Both the golden and this silver sparkly glitter face mask have a black organic lining to avoid make-up stains. Depending on how the light falls in this mask gets a blue or pink shine on it. I just love that and I can imagine it working great under the black lights of a discotheque. Or maybe this year, in a smaller circle, under the lights of the Christmas tree. 🎄

They embellished this amazing mask with Swarovski crystal rhinestones. The premium high thread-count cotton inner lining makes it perfectly breathable. They made ribbons of satin on this mask.
All 3 masks cover the nose and chin perfectly, as it should, and they feel really comfortable. 😃

Vanity Couture Unfortunately got hit hard by the pandemic. It plummeted their custom orders and really diminished sales, so they were forced to pivot. Not only did they create The Peoples Mask Corp, supplying civilians with face masks since April, but they also ventured into clothing. 😊

They just launched their Embellished velvet luxury loungewear collection and got a lot of responses already. Seeing as how staying home, working from home, and living in comfortable attire has become the new norm they wanted to still give women the opportunity to feel chic and glam without sacrificing the desire to be cozy. 😋

Let me show you a few examples of this luxury loungewear.

They also have the most amazing swimwear. You really must, yes must, check out this video they published on their YouTube Channel. 😲

Those are the most amazing bathing suits I have ever seen. 😍

Hope you like my blog.....Until next time.....Have a nice day

The Best Highlighter Makeup - How To Make Your Skin Glow with Jolie Beauty

Hi There..... Do you like to make your skin glow? Do you like to use highlighter makeup? Are you going to celebrate Christmas and New Year soon?

Sooo many questions. I suppose most of you are going to celebrate. 😃

Unlike most years, we are celebrating Christmas with just the two of us. Ordinarily, we would celebrate with our children, but the government voted against it. Thank you so very much for that. 😛

Maybe I should just sing a Christmas Carol to get us in the mood for celebrating, put on some make-up with eyeshadow and some highlighter. Haha, I can picture my husband’s face if I do that. He would think I am losing my mind, but you have to own one to lose one. 😂

I have always been a fan of Christmas songs though, not sure why, but I always loved singing them. When I was in the choir about 10 years ago, we used to practice them before Christmas to sing at parties or masses. 😊

That reminds me of the time we were singing in the mass of the elderly home. We had been singing happily for about half an hour when there was a loud bang. You can never guess what happened. 😏

A resident seemed to have fallen asleep, and the book on her lap fell to the ground. It gave us quite a scare and everyone was wide awake again. At least they were listening again now. Nothing is as bad as performing when nobody listens. Or maybe there is one thing worse. Not being allowed to perform because of a stupid virus. 😁

I will be glad when all this is behind us. Who knows, maybe in 10 years’ time we will look back and wish we could press pause again. Or for all I know, you may wish you could still have time to read my blog posts and all my stories.

I sometimes wonder if I will still be able to think of stories, or perhaps I might start telling the old ones again because I forgot that I already told them to you. If that happens, you just have to let me know. 😂

The end of another story and time for some more jolly matters. Or maybe I should say Jolie. What? Have you never heard of Jolie Beauty? Oh my, you have got to be kidding me. 😨

Haha, now I was kidding you because I hadn’t heard about them before, but I am so glad that I discovered this brand. They have the most amazing highlighter makeup. First, let me tell you a bit more about them. 😍

This Brand from the UK is the brainchild of a team of experienced makeup artists, and they have worked with some renowned Beauty Brands such as Mac, Clinique, Sephora,... They believe that make-up artists should have the choice to pick both unique and high performing products. 😊

Their experience has driven them to design and create fun, cute, and professional products that are affordable for any artist, aspiring artist, or make-up lover. The team tests and trials each product countless times to make sure that you get the product you love. 😍

Their brush sets are cruelty-free and vegan-friendly. They say that synthetic products can lead to even better results.

They design and develop their lashes in-house without the use of mink or animal products. They use synthetic silk polymer to make you enjoy voluminous lashes guilt-free.

I really love it when a brand stands up against animal cruelty and I bet you do too. Nope, I am definitely not joking around this time. 😍

And I was more than happy that they sent me this gorgeous second skin powder highlighter makeup, in return for my honest opinion. A little skin glow hurt no one, right?

What does their website say about these highlighters? They provide a natural yet eye-catching skin glow. The highlighter can be built up for a more intense look, or worn more subtly for daily make-up. The second skin powder highlighter avoids creating a glittery finish. The smoothing formula glides over any texture on the skin. Enhancing the smoothness of the skin underneath.

The powders have been formulated to create a buildable, sheer glow that lasts all day long. Second skin highlighters perform perfectly on top of all cream or powder foundation bases. Or you can use it on your bare skin if you prefer.

You may be curious to know what I thought about these highlighters. That's a bit of a problem because I still haven't decided which of those two I love the most. Then again, I don't really need to choose because I now have them both. I was a bit anxious at first because I didn't know if I would get it right. Then I got in an email from Jolie Beauty with a link to their YouTube channel.

Such a great channel with such a simple explanation on how to use their make-up. You really are going to have to check it out.

And here is my look after using the highlighters. I only used them on my cheekbones, but you can put them on your nose, your forehead, your chin or even in your cleavage.

On my left cheek (on the right if you look at the picture) I used the Saintly shade. It gives you a really fresh glow.

On my right cheek, I used the Dreaming shade. It is a little darker, but just as pretty if you ask me. And they both give you an amazing but subtle glow.

Can you see the difference? One thing is for sure: when the Coronavirus is under control and I can get back to performing with my band, I am going to use one of these highlighters. Maybe you can choose for me. Let me know in the comments which one you like best.

Jolie Beauty has a lot more where this came from.

They have biodegradable festival glitter.

They have a 24 shade Glitter Palette

They also have a luxury gift bundle

Those are just a few examples of the things you can find on their website. They are based in the UK but they ship internationally to many destinations so don't let me hold you one minute longer.

Hope you like my blog..... Until next time..... Have a nice day
