Tips on where to find Flower Art Resin Jewelry - Izabella Resin Art

Hi There..... Are you a fan of flower art? Do you like resin jewelry?

I love both flower art and resin jewelry if they are well made. Many years ago, I had a stunning piece of dried flowers, but it was made with mirrors and very hard to clean. It got very dirty after a few years and completely lost its charm. I so miss cleaning it. Duh, no, of course not. Nothing fun about cleaning. 😏

There is one piece of flower art that also almost got lost, but we could repair it. It's a frame with my original wedding flowers in it, so it's already 35 years old. Not sure if many people still do that with their bride's bouquet. Such a shame to just throw it away. Unless you get divorced maybe, then you can get rid of it. 😁

Always have been a big fan of any kind of flower, fresh or dried. They smell so nice. I have a very sensitive nose regarding flowers. More than others, it seems, because I've had several times that I remember picking up their scent while others didn't. Roses are my favorite flower scent, and I dare to bet I am not the only one. 😊

Ah yes, plants. My cat was always very fond of them, too. Somewhat too fond, if you ask me, because he made sure I didn't have to water them anymore. He liked my plants so much that he ate pieces of them or messed up the soil, so they died. I thought, why not try a cactus. You never guess what happened. Big surprise. He ate it.

Time to tell you some more about the resin jewelry I received from Izabella Resin Art in exchange for a full blog post.

Perhaps you would like to know a bit more about Izabella.

Info on Izabella

Bella is a teacher by profession. She taught History for ten years and is now a full-time graduate student at Uppsala University. Her love for details, which can be associated with her passion for History, is also evident in almost all her resin jewelry pieces.

The name “Izabella” was taken from her birthplace, Isabella, Negros Occidental, where she recalls her earliest memory of witnessing different kinds of flowers blooming after a rainy day in July. In the same month of 2019, she decided to sell the resin jewelry pieces that she made during her free time.

Plants, especially their flowers, always have their unique way of brightening up someone’s day. They seem to speak a distinct language of love and happiness that easily captures people’s hearts. This is why Bella, the artist behind Izabella Resin Art, chose botanicals and resin as her primary medium for artistic expression. She hopes that her flower jewelry can elicit feelings of joy and love to anyone who will wear them.

How are the pieces of Resin Jewelry made?

Each piece from Izabella Resin Art goes through a long and rigorous process. First, the artist collects the ideal plants, which are usually small flowers and leaves, that will be used for the designs. Some of these are already dried,  but others are often preserved for two to three weeks through a flower presser. Once all the botanicals are ready, they will undergo the arrangement process, wherein they will be arranged in a bezel or a mold.

Then, layers of resin will be poured. This process is considered the most challenging part because bubbles, dust, and other particles might mix with the resin and eventually destroy the design. Last, after the curing process, each piece will be shaped and smoothened using a polishing machine. If flaws are still noticeable, a layer of resin will be added for another curing and polishing process.

Every design and detail of each piece of jewelry speaks of craftsmanship, passion, and love for the arts as it reflects the artist’s happy thoughts and emotions. In the future, she plans to create resin jewelry pieces that are inspired and made of endemic plants from the places she visits.

How can we take care of our resin pieces?

Even though the jewelry is made with stainless metal and high-quality resin, it is better to be safe than sorry when taking care of them.
  • avoid scratching or bumping your jewelry on rough surfaces.
  • prevent discoloration by refraining from exposure to sunlight, smoke, perfume, lotion, and other chemicals.
  • remove your jewelry whenever you swim or take a bath. Remember to use the polishing cloth provided with your purchase, and make sure to store your jewelry in a clean and dry box.

My opinion on the resin jewelry

How could I not be happy with those gorgeous pieces? Red is my favorite color, so she made that one especially for me. The only thing is, which one would I choose to be my favorite. I honestly don't know, because the green one is equally beautiful. It's good that I don't have to choose. 😍

The jewelry came well packed in a cute box with my name on it, and thin crepe paper hearts. The resin jewelry pieces were accompanied by a delicate chain necklace. Inside the box were some cute dried flowers. The necklace and pendant together didn't feel heavy at all on my neck, so that's another plus.

If you were waiting for negative feedback this time, I am sorry to disappoint you. I can only recommend you check out her shop for more resin jewelry pieces, and she has some beautiful floral frames, too.

The Best Tips on Women's Fashion - Female Body Types

Hi There..... Do you know anything about female body types? Do I need to ask you if you are a fan of women's fashion?

I don't think so. What would you be reading my blog for then if not to know more about women's fashion? Ah yes, you could have been waiting for a new review. Today, however, I wanted to talk to you about female body types. What would we be without them? 😉

You know, I had this post planned on Wednesday, but I was having so much fun that I totally forgot all about you sitting behind your screens waiting for my post to pop up in your mailbox. Haha, I wish that would have been the case. 😀

There were a few hurdles, and it drove me crazy, so I thought I'd take a day off and postpone it until today. The hard part was getting pictures I could use for my blog post without having to pay for them. 😬

I don't earn money from my blog, so I don't want to invest more than necessary. Just as Steve Jobs said, "My favorite things in life don't cost any money. It's really clear that the most precious resource we all have is time." So I thought you wouldn't mind waiting for somewhat longer this time. 😧

To make this blog post possible, I teamed up with Srilakshmi, a budding Fashion Designer from Yogic-Experience

Female Body Types

Understanding your body type is the key to women's fashion and styling. Only if you know what type you are, you will be able to choose the perfect outfit for you.

There are 5 broad classifications of female body types. It all depends on the distribution of muscle and fat in the body. Go one and get out your measuring tape and note the measurements of your shoulders, bust, waist, and hip. With the help of these measurements, you can determine which body shape is yours.

Apple

If you are curvy and have similar measurements on your shoulders, bust, waist, and hip, then you could be an apple or a round body type. In this body type, the waistline is usually undefined and the bust measurement would be high. This represents a circular outline of the body. Own your bust, and go for sharp silhouettes.

An example of a celebrity that has an apple-shaped body is Christina Hendricks - Here is a link to an Instagram picture of her :)

Pear

If your hips and thighs are broader when compared to your shoulders and bust, then you have a pear body shape. Geometrically, this is also referred to as the triangle body shape. You could really flaunt your defined waistline and highlight your shoulders, arms, and back.

An example of a celebrity with a pear shape is Kim Kardashian. Here is a link to a picture from her Instagram

Hourglass

If you have a well-defined waistline with a fair balance in your shoulder and hip measurements, then you have an hourglass body shape. They consider this to be an ideal shape (though rare in reality). Highlight your contours and flaunt the shape!

An example of a celebrity with an hourglass shape is Scarlett Johansson. Here is a picture on her Instagram.

Rectangle

If you have a fairly uniform measurement of shoulders, bust, waist, and hip, then you carry a Rectangle body shape. It makes you look athletic or straight, and the waistline is also straight. If you like to break the box frame, go for outfits that give a definition to your waistline.

An example of a celebrity that has a rectangle shape is Sheryl Crow. This is a picture from her Instagram.

Inverted Triangle

If you have broader shoulders when compared to the hip, you fall in an inverted triangle type. In this scenario, the shoulder measurement is higher than the hip measurement.

So we can mostly see a descending number in measurements from shoulder-bust-waist-hip. Flaunt your legs and highlight the lower half of your body.

The last example of a celebrity with an Inverted Triangle shape is Angelina Jolie, and this is a picture from her Instagram.

Thanks, Srilakshmi for your help 😍

I am showing you the full picture below so that you can easily compare those female body types.

The Best Online Shop For All Fitness Clothing Needs - Jed North Sportswear

Hi There..... Did you gain a few pounds in those crazy Corona times? Do you like sportswear and fitness clothing?

Then this blog post is the perfect match for you. Don't worry if you haven't gained weight, and do not need to work out like crazy. This blog post is perfect for you too if you like sportswear and fitness clothing. Ah, yes, this one is for everyone, man or woman, big or small. 😍

When I was in secondary school, I was the biggest fan of gym lessons, because I was so good at it. Nah, of course not. Just joking. I was pretty bad at it. Things like jumping over the pommel horse were my biggest fear. 😨

I kept thinking I would land on my head. Usually, I would run right up to it and stop just in front of the darn thing. Can you imagine, it just didn't budge, so I didn't either lol. 😏

I can laugh with it now, but it was quite embarrassing back then. Things like cartwheel and running weren't my forte either. At home, I practiced a lot at headstand, handstand, and tumbling so that I at least scored some points on those. 😄

One of my favorites was rope climbing, though, because hardly anybody was good at it except me and one or two others. Ah yes, and on a rare occasion we would learn how to shot put, and that was something I would excel in. You can't win them all now, can you? 😎

Alright then, time for workouts or not, it doesn't matter, because you can rock the sportswear from Jed North anywhere you go. They gifted me the items below, in return for my honest opinion. I know what your next question is. 😉

What is Jed North?

It is your one-stop shop for all sportswear and fitness clothing needs, from yoga, running to hardcore bodybuilding.

Jed North's devotion and commitment has made it one of the premier online destinations for gym apparel. They have been operating for over 4 years and are the best at providing athletic and casual wear for every fitness enthusiast.

They offer a wide range of sportwear and fitness clothing suitable for bodybuilders, powerlifters, yogis, cross-fitters, and general fitness lovers. Their comfortable and functional tank tops, shorts, stringers, t-shirts will be with you every step of the way. Whether you are just beginning a new workout routine, or are a fitness enthusiast looking to look good in a casual setting. Jed North is a brand you can look good wearing year after year both in and outside of the gym.

MID-RISE Running shorts with pockets

Find the comfort you're looking for in these shorts. The comfy sweat style you know and love has arrived in an updated short silhouette.
They designed these shorts with ultimate comfort in mind so you can work out or lounge with ease. Adjust to your liking with the waist drawstring, two pockets for convenience, and short length for breathability.  Pair it with your favorite shirt or sports bra for a finished look.

87% Nylon 13% Spandex
Machine Wash Cold
Tumble Dry Low or Hang Dry
Two Side Pockets
Waist Drawstring
High Waistband

My opinion on the shorts

They fit perfectly, and I love the large waistband with a drawstring and handy pockets. Some synthetic fabrics give me shivers when touching them, but luckily, this fabric felt very nice and soft. If you like to take a run in the park and still look cute, these are the perfect shorts for you.

Athletic training sweatpants with pockets

Open yourself up to fresh adventures in our Adventure Joggers. The sleek nylon fabric feels like a dream! The pant features a stretchy waistband and two side pockets to assist you in your every move. Pair it with your favorite hoodie or sports bra for a finished look.

80% Nylon 20% Spandex
Two Side Pockets

My opinion on the training sweatpants

The material they made these sweatpants of is super stretchy and feels very soft. That makes them extra comfortable. The fabric is quite thin so you don't feel too warm in them.

V-Neck A-Line Cami Dress

The V-Neck A-Line Cami Dress is the softest and flattering camisole dress you'll ever wear! This dress flows from the top-down. The fabric is soft and has just enough elasticity to give it a flattering silhouette. Dress this up with heels or dress it down with your favorite sneakers.

Knee Length
Camisole Straps

My opinion on the Cami Dress

I feel that choosing this dress may have been a mistake. Not that there is anything wrong with it, but I am way too pale for it. We didn't have the best summer, so now I am almost like Snowwhite. It has a great fit though, and the fabric is lovely. I felt a lot more comfortable with my T-shirt on top of it.

High Rise Side Pocket Skinny Jeans

These high-rise classics will be sure to turn heads everywhere you go. Look no further for the most unique and comfiest pair of denim yet. Designed with 4 way stretch comfortable high-waisted waistband, four pockets, button fly closure, and luxury fabric, these jeans will surely become your new favorite!

Machine Cold Wash
Tumble Dry Low or Hang Dry
75% Cotton 20% Polyester 5% Elastane

My opinion on the Jeans

Now, this is my kind of Jeans. I just love skinny and high-waist pants. At first, I thought, oh my, I will never fit in that one, but it was perfect. They are super comfortable, and I just love the color and the side pockets.

Overall, I am thrilled with my order. Usually, deliveries coming from the States take some time, but this package arrived in a few days. Love their handy size charts and they are also very affordable.

They have an extensive choice of sportswear and fitness clothing on their website, so definitely worth a try. 😍

Interview with Fashion Designer Morgan Oughton

Hi There..... Would you like to dive into the fashion industry and get a new fashion designer interview today?

Not that your yes or no is going to make any difference to what I am presenting to you today. That fashion designer interview is on the menu today, like it or not. You can say anything you want about it in the comment section, though. That's a lie because I don't allow any spamming in my comments. 😏

I used to think, why do people hate spam. It's not that bad. We used to eat it a lot when I was a teenager. We would have those large cans, and my mom would slice the canned ham so that we could eat it with our sandwiches. Ooh, just thinking about it makes me hungry. 😋

My dad and mom used to buy them while we were on holiday in Wales because we didn't have them in Belgium. I miss those British foods, you know. Like scones, bangers, tomato soup, and so on. I remember almost every time we went to the restaurant, I used to eat fried prawns with chips. Just to get a bit of variation. 😁

Let's alter the subject and get back to our dive into the fashion industry and the fashion designer that's on today's menu. The fish I caught today is the 37-year-old Morgan Oughton, and she is the owner and head fashion designer of Spacefish Army

What kind of work do you do, or what are you studying to be?

I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York specializing in lingerie and swimwear and spent 10 years as a fashion designer, graphic designer, and art director for several large companies. I designed Men’s, Women’s, and Kid’s sportswear, lingerie, sleepwear and worked on many licensed apparel brands, including Disney and Marvel.

What made you decide to become a Designer?

As a teenager, I actually really hated shopping, so I started making my own clothes. I had always been an artist, but my mom and my sewing teacher really encouraged me to try fashion design as a career.

Is fashion important to you? Why?

I love the combination of fashion with functionality. I like when things are really well made and serve their purpose but are also eye-catching art pieces. That perspective has made me focus on quality fabrications and unique graphics, much more than trying to do something too crazy with the silhouettes of the garments.

What are your successes and how did you achieve them?

I wholeheartedly believe that hard work will get you wherever you want to go in life, but there’s no definition of success besides the one you create for yourself.

I achieved everything I thought I wanted in my career in New York and was an Art Director for the biggest sleepwear company in the country, but I left it all in 2016 to pursue my passion for scuba diving and have spent 3 years living on boats and swimming with some of the coolest animals on the planet.

In 2018 I circled back to fashion to create my line of apparel for divers simply because the market was boring and needed some color and life. I am still working on making my company a financial “success”, but what I do now is more fulfilling than all 10 years spent working for other people.

Is the name of the Brand important to you when you buy clothing?

A brand should have a certain quality associated with it, so while I don’t care about logos on my clothes, I will definitely buy a brand based on past purchases that have met my expectations.

Describe your personal style of clothing?

I’ve always loved lots of colors and prints, but I’m a very active person comfort and versatility are also very important to me. I am usually wearing some kind of brightly colored activewear ready for spontaneous adventures.

How did you find your personal style? Do you have a signature look?

I almost exclusively wear my company’s clothing because not only am I a walking advertisement everywhere I go, but I designed them to be everything that I love about clothes, so they match my personality perfectly.

Do you have an influence on other people’s clothing style?

In the diving industry, for sure! Our products are unique in the market and we make more and more fans every time we are around other divers & ocean lovers.

What are in your eyes the best trends at the moment?

I always love a good tie-dye and neons, I’m glad they are back.

What are in your eyes the worst trends at the moment?

The “Tik-Tok” leggings are really hilarious to me. Maybe I’m just getting old, but even my 21-year-old self would not have signed up for everyone in the world to glare directly into my buttcrack.

What kind of fashion advice would you give us?

Just have fun with it! Nothing in life should be taken too seriously, but especially not fashion. Wear what makes you feel most like you.

Who is your style icon and why?

I follow a lot of mermaids online but my favorite by far is Charity Grace. She pulls off the mermaid vibe 1000% with colorful hair combinations and beautiful ocean-inspired outfits.

Is there something else you would like to share with us?

Share us with the mermaid in your life!
Thank you!

Thanks, Morgan, for answering my questions. I think your designs are so cool. If you like her designs, be sure to follow on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/spacefisharmy/

The Best Tips on Cleaning Jewelry and how to store Jewelry

Hi There..... Would you like some tips on cleaning jewelry and how to store jewelry?

Since jewelry is an important part of fashion, I thought you might be interested. After all, cleaning jewelry and knowing how to store jewelry is very important to make those stunning pieces last longer. 😃

I used to make lots of beadwork jewelry myself but had to close my Etsy shop because it wasn't profitable enough. At the moment, I am more into knitting and some occasional sewing if my body feels like it. 😏

My first cardigan isn't done yet, and I am already working on another. Ah, yes, why would you finish something if you already have wool for the next one? 😁

No, I couldn't finish the first one because I didn't have enough wool. 😵

Now I am waiting for some other wool I ordered already to come back into stock so that I don't have to drive to the shop twice. Yes, I can think clearly still at my age. I just turned 58 yesterday, way too close to 60, if you ask me. 😱

The thought of that makes my hair stand on end, so let's talk about other things like cleaning jewelry, for instance. I've had some help from Irina Kharina, the owner of Tsarina Gems, who is an expert in this field. 😊

Without regular cleaning, diamonds and gemstones in your jewelry can start looking dull and less lively. But that's easy to fix! Warm water and a few drops of dish soap or hand soap is the safest way to clean your jewelry. 😉

Reserve a soft, clean toothbrush specifically for cleaning your jewelry. Do not use an electric toothbrush! Avoid toothpaste. It is too abrasive and hardens like glue under gemstones, making it very difficult to remove. 😧

Here are the 5 steps for cleaning jewelry

1. Take a bowl, fill it up with warm water and add a couple of drops of soap.
2. Place one piece of jewelry in the bowl and leave to soak for a couple of minutes.
3. Scrub gently with a toothbrush.
4. Rinse.
5. Pat dry with a lint-free cloth. I don't recommend using paper towels, they can scratch the metal.

Pro Tip: Avoid cleaning your jewelry anywhere close to an open drain. Irina has heard some very unfortunate stories involving rings flying down the sink and into the drain!

Dish soap is the best option for cleaning jewelry. However, if you decide to invest in a jewelry cleaning solution, visit your local jeweler for advice and purchase the correct product for your specific jewelry needs. They don't make all jewelry cleaners equal. With such a vast variety of jewelry cleaners available, you do not want to cause more harm than good. Follow instructions carefully!

Pearl Jewelry

Pearls, like other gemstones and jewelry, need occasional TLC. Lotions, perfume, hair sprays, and natural skin oils can stick to the pearls and make them look tired and dull. But don’t just chuck them into your at-home cleaning solution!

There is a lot of misinformation about pearl cleaning and there is no need for a deep clean! Giving your pearl necklace, ring, or earrings a gentle wipe with a soft cloth will do the trick and will keep your heirlooms shining like new!

Jewelry Care tips

Remove your jewelry when exercising, baking, gardening, or doing household chores, especially involving harsh chemicals. This will help keep your jewelry safe and damage-free for years to come.

Take off your jewelry while having a shower. Shampoo, conditioner, and shower gels can get stuck in those delicate designs even under running water. You also don’t want to lose an earring or necklace if it comes undone and falls down the drain.

How to store jewelry

A jewelry box is the safest place to keep your jewelry. You could also have little ring dishes dotted around the house, in case you want to take your jewelry off and have peace of mind that they will be safe from getting lost.

Thanks so much, Irina for your help. You can check out her Instagram page for more tips @tsarinagems 😍

Interview with Fashion Stylists Paola Arencibia and Cristina del Campo

Hi There..... Do you have to ask people for their advice on women's fashion? Have you ever asked for the advice of a fashion stylist?

I never have, but I often struggle with what to wear, and what to combine to compliment my figure. Luckily, I have a husband who much better understands women's fashion, and even more lucky that I can tag him along to shop. Ah, I bet you envy me for that. 😎

Do you also watch other people that are poorly dressed, thinking, oh my I wouldn't want to be caught dead in that outfit. They wear ill-fitting trousers and T-shirts that are way too small for them. That is beyond me. Could be I am not smart enough to understand. 😜

About 10 years ago, we used to have a woman down the street who had the worst taste in clothing. She was always wearing a kind of apron dress from the 60s in a dark, dirty color, and leg warmers on both cold or hot days. Every day morning, noon, or night, she would stand in front of their door. It was as if she was keeping watch. Still not sure what for. 😄

She wasn't the only weird one from her family. Her adult son, also poorly dressed in brown colors, still lived at home. We knew from others he would be there every time the ice cream truck came by. 😮

You wouldn't want to be behind him then, because for sure he would fart all the time. Not the silent type, but loud enough for everyone to hear, and not odorless either. I swear to you. I am telling you the truth. 😬

Perhaps now is a good time to change the subject to women's fashion again, and talk about the fashion stylist I interviewed, or should I say stylists, because it's about a duo. Their names are Paola Arencibia (45) and Cristina del Campo (47), and together they own Serious Style, Inc

What kind of work do you do or what are you studying to be?

We are professional style coaches.

What made you decide to become a Stylist?

We have been friends for a long time and have always bonded over our love of clothes. When we both retired from education, we wanted to pursue our dream of playing dress-up all day and showing other women how to have fun with clothes.

Is fashion important to you? Why?

Fashion is important to us because it’s something that we love to use for personal expression. It’s a way to be creative.

What are your successes and how did you achieve them?

Our biggest successes have come from the transformations we have seen in our clients. For example, we helped a woman who had lost over 60lbs get a whole new professional wardrobe and pursue a new position within her career.

Is the name of the Brand important to you when you buy clothing?

It’s important only because of quality. We believe in pieces that last, but we don’t let the label dictate style — the woman does.

Describe your personal style of clothing?

We like to experiment with style, but Cristina definitely enjoys color and prints. Paola dresses in solids: lots of black and white and denim. Also, we both love animal prints.

How did you find your personal style? Do you have a signature look?

I think we both have signature looks for a season and then we change things up! For a while, Cristina had bright red hair and was very funky and Boho. Paola went through a Halston-inspired 70s phase with big glasses and neutrals.

In what way do you influence other people’s clothing style?

We encourage them to use clothing to express themselves, not to hide. We offer a “Leading Lady” experience where we get our clients to think about the legendary women whom they looked up to when they were younger. The idea is to recapture a sense of play and know that you CAN feel like a movie star regardless of your age or shape.

What are in your eyes the best trends at the moment?

Blazers, vintage patterns, midi skirts, belted everything, animal prints, layered jewelry, and lots of texture.

What are in your eyes the worst trends at the moment?

Shoulder pads and extreme bell bottoms.

What kind of fashion advice would you give us?

Cinch the waist. No one cares about that little bit of belly as much as you do.

Who is your style icon and why?

We have so many! Some of our favorites are Stevie Nicks, Jennifer Lopez, Debbie Harry, and Katharine Hepburn. All our style icons had significant looks when they were young and carried that confidence into their later decades. They “age inappropriately” as we like to say.

Is there something else you would like to share with us?

We just want women to know that fashion doesn’t have to be something that makes them feel bad about themselves. We want women — especially women over 40 — to give themselves permission to prioritize themselves, express themselves, and look amazing!

That sounds like a great idea to me. You can follow them on Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/seriousstyle_mia/

How to connect with European Brands or Small shops and Bloggers or Influencers

Hi There.....Would you like to connect with others? Yes..... Cool..... I might have the perfect solution for you..... No..... Ok, I am cool ...
