You had better be because I am. Then again, you probably are, otherwise, you might not be reading this fashion designer interview. I love to have the power to keep you waiting until I feel like writing. 😜

Nah, of course not. I feel ever so lucky people take the time to read my blog posts. Sometimes life throws me a curveball and I have to postpone writing until the next day, but I try to be on call twice a week. 😉

I know, lots of writers have blog posts queued up for days like that, but that's just not me. When I am not writing, I am knitting, sewing, or beading, on other days you can find me sipping a cool drink on a terras somewhere. Life is too short not to enjoy every minute. 😍

Let's see what the 43-year-old George Yang, fashion designer for PalaLeather, has to tell about his life. 😊

What kind of work do you do, or what are you studying to be? 

Complete annual and seasonal product design and development according to the brand's product positioning.

What made you decide to become a Fashion Designer?

It runs in the blood of our family. I grew up watching my elders and the workers crafting leather garments.

Our great-grandfather was a skilled tailor who owned a small tailor shop. Later on, he expanded his business and opened a manufacturing company of leather jackets. 

That’s how I became interested in fashion and wanted to show my style and designs. 

 

Is fashion important to you? Why? 

Fashion means a lot to me. I am deeply influenced by my family culture. 

Since I was a child, I would always look forward to the latest trends and the most fashionable aesthetic styles of the year. Whenever I am exposed to a new trend, I love to immerse myself in the trends and feel the change and beauty of the fashion world.

What are your successes, and how did you achieve them?

Our family business was once dying and almost failed, but at a family gathering, we decided to revive it by re-branding and re-financing. I took on this immense responsibility and through my tireless efforts, it thrived and we explored opportunities overseas. 

When I took over and managed our family's factory, I was always committed to winning over competitors by QUALITY. I got the best suppliers for leather and hardware. Every leather garment goes through a rigorous quality control process to ensure that it is ready for the market. 

We are known for our QUALITY. Our customers love our products and through their word of mouth and recommendations, our factory has grown bigger and bigger. This year, we even got a partnership with Lamborghini! 

 

Is the name of the Brand important to you when you buy clothing?

Yes. A brand is a business card for consumers & it represents a huge role when purchasing clothing. Most people also buy clothing with a brand name.

Compared to brandless competitors, the essence of branding is that it gives greater value to your products & services.

 

Describe your personal style of clothing?

My designs are more on the side of understated luxury fashion pieces. You can see the superior quality and exquisite craftsmanship in the details of each piece.

 

How did you find your personal style? Do you have a signature look? 

I think fashion will always be about expressing yourself. 

I like it, I wear it. I want it, I wear it.

What are in your eyes the best trends at the moment?

For me, Strap Accents are the best trend in 2022. We are seeing crop tops with a strapped waistband across the stomach, strappy dresses, and bralettes. They are trendy at the moment. 

Poly Pleated Skirts are also gaining popularity recently. Pleats and tucks are designs that suit everyone. Simple gathering pleats and tucks can easily upgrade a casual top to cozy party looks. 

 

What are in your eyes the worst trends at the moment?

Adding glossy chain belts on the garments can be the worst trend in 2022. 

Whether it's a low-key shimmer or a more visually striking highlight chain belt or clothing hardware, I think these can only be used on specific fabrics and occasions. It is difficult to make this trend versatile as casual wear. Especially if you have cheap fabrics. I think it looks miserable.

 

What kind of fashion advice would you give us?

Your fashion style should be comfortable, not time-consuming, and very personal. You should express yourself in your style. Wear the most suitable and beautiful version of yourself. Wearing the right style of your own will make you confident. Just be yourself. You do not have to dress up too hard, find the right one for you.

 

Who is your style icon and why?

I love Hedi Slimane. He is a great artist, designer, stylist, and photographer. I am fascinated by his iconic tight black suits and rocking unisex covers. With his fluid, unisex tailoring style, Slimane designed all kinds of leather jackets, narrow-waisted coats, and low-collared shirts, breathing new life into YSL's secondary label Rive Gauche Homme. He brings his unique razor-thin aesthetic to the forefront.

How To Get Rid Of Deodorant Stains - Nivea MEN Black & White Invisible Fresh

I genuinely hate deodorant stains, but sadly, this post is not about me this time. You may wonder why not? Because this blog post is about antiperspirant deodorant spray for men. 😉

Hey, please don’t go just yet. There is absolutely no reason to stop reading because you’re a woman. 😨

Ah yes, perhaps I can give you a few reasons to keep on reading. Just like me, you could have your man try out this new deodorant spray. 😁

Another reason could be you just enjoy the scent more. Correct me if I’m wrong, but there is no law against women using products for men. 😦

We have so many laws already, don’t we? Isn’t it the best feeling ever to know you can still do this without being persecuted? 😃

Oh my, should I even publish this? What if I’m wrong, and there is such a law? Did I incite you to a crime? I don’t think I could be happy spending my life behind bars. 😱

Forget about it and let me tell you what made me happy. Reviewclub picked me to test the NIVEA MEN Black & White Invisible Fresh Anti-Transpirant Spray in exchange for my honest opinion. 😍

I found some particularly interesting information on https://www.nivea.co.uk/ I wanted to share with you first.

WHY DO WE GET SWEAT STAINS & DEODORANT STAINS?

The science behind them is unglamorous. Their appearance is partly because of the chemicals that are used in antiperspirants: chemicals that are, amusingly enough, there to prevent you from sweating so much.

When your sweat reacts with the bacteria on your skin, it forms sweat stains on your clothing, and certain chemicals, like the aluminum in the deodorant that you are wearing. 

If you were to view sweat on its own, you would find that it is not yellow-colored, but because of these reactions, it turns yellow.

HOW TO REMOVE SWEAT STAINS

If you want to know more about how to get those nasty sweat stains out of your clothes, the good news is that there's no shortage of tried-and-tested methods.

So let's find out how to get rid of them and ensure that you look your best when out and about. Remember, however, that removing perspiration marks often leads to more than a little perspiration!

White vinegar

First, soak the stained part of your clothing item in white vinegar for an hour. Then scrub with a clean toothbrush, flannel, or brush.

Try to be meticulous without being too aggressive with the clothing. Once you finish, put it in the washing machine.

 

Baking soda & hydrogen peroxide

Take three parts baking soda and one part water. Form a thick paste and then rub this mixture into the sweat stain with a clean toothbrush.

If the clothing is white, you can add hydrogen peroxide to make it look extra radiant.

Lemons

Mix an equal part of lemon juice with water and scrub the stain.

Once you have finished doing this, leave the piece of clothing in direct sunlight. This will allow the lemon's natural bleaching properties to take effect.

 

Salt

Salt is a mild abrasive you can use to scrub out the stain.

You'll need to rub vigorously, however, as salt does not have a natural bleaching effect.

 

Now that you know how to get rid of those stains, let me tell you about this new deodorant spray from Nivea.

My opinion on the NIVEA MEN Black & White Invisible Fresh Anti-Transpirant Spray

My husband's favorite color is black, so he has lots of black T-shirts, sweaters, and shirts. He also likes to stay fresh throughout the day, so you might think this deodorant spray would be perfect for him.

I'd have to say it comes pretty close to being perfect. It seems to last much longer than other comparative antiperspirants. The lockable cap is an outstanding characteristic they should include in all deodorants. This ensures the spray won't go off accidentally if it falls to the floor.

What I think is most important is the deodorant prevents and protects against marks and stains on clothing as they say. The only negative for my hubby was the scent. This one from Nivea is his favorite.

Not that he dislikes the scent, but he just likes the fresh kick more, so he decided it might be a great idea to get them both in the future. He wants to keep on using his favorite one and plans to use this new one for when he wears black or white. At least until they combine the both.

High time to let Jodie Filogomo do the talking. She is the 56-year-old founder of Jodie’s Touch of Style and the voice behind the outfits. 😍

What kind of work do you do, or what are you studying to be? 

I’m a fashion inspirer (I know some women use the term influencer, but I would rather inspire people). 

As a fashion blogger, I not only put together our outfit choices but also create the written article around them. 

What made you decide to become a Fashion Stylist?

I’ve always had a love of clothing that is part of my genes from my mother. It’s one reason I include my mother on my site. My mom is a master seamstress and has taught me a lot, especially in accessorizing and alterations. 

 

Is fashion important to you? Why? 

I believe that our outside appearance is more important than many people think. As visual animals, we notice and unconsciously judge people by what they wear. 

I think we can project either a serious or lighthearted air with our daily looks. 

What are your successes and how did you achieve them?

My original career was as a cosmetic dentist, where I succeeded in having my practice for over 22 years. They nominated me for a local magazine’s Best Dentist 6 years in a row. 

As a fashion blogger and stylist, my successes are different. My biggest source of pride is when I get emails from women saying how much I’ve inspired them to wear more colorful items or to think differently about their bodies and style choices.

Is the name of the Brand important to you when you buy clothing?

Absolutely not!! I think the brand is the least important aspect of our clothing because we are the only ones that know what brand it really is. Even if there is a logo on the clothing, I don’t think it makes us look better. 

 

Describe your personal style of clothing?

My personal style is multi-dimensional, just like my personality. What I will say is that most days I choose colorful clothing and enjoy switching it up. One of my superpowers is making every piece of clothing extremely versatile. 

How did you find your personal style? Do you have a signature look? 

I found my personal style by experimenting and being open to new and different ways to dress. I feel like we close ourselves off if we only choose to wear one style or one company's clothing.

My signature look?? That’s a hard one because I play in all the style categories. 

In the summer, I would say it would be a bright dress!! 

 

In what way do you influence other people’s clothing style?

I definitely showcase and influence other women to wear more color instead of only wearing neutrals. Color is a hugely powerful aspect of our wardrobe and we should take advantage of it. 

I’m also a huge advocate of embracing the bodies we have, and many women appreciate that instead of feeling the need to cover up as our bodies change.

What are in your eyes the best trends at the moment?

I love the fact that there are SO MANY options available, especially in the jeans trends. For instance, you can still find skinny jeans at the stores, but you’re also seeing a lot of the wider silhouettes. 

To me, style should be as unique as our personalities, so it’s good to have options. 

 

What are in your eyes the worst trends at the moment?

This is where my Pollyanna trait comes in… I don’t think there are any bad trends. Sure, I may not wear the micro-mini skirts personally. Then again, I have layered a short tutu over another dress, so I bet I could make it work. 

If I had to say a terrible trend, that would be the rules and articles that say women over 50 shouldn’t wear this or that. 

 

What kind of fashion advice would you give us?

Stop being swayed by someone else. If we all follow the “fashion rules” then we would all look the same, and that would be a shame. Each of us is a unique person, and we should dress that way.

The other thing is that older women should stop trying to blend in. That makes us invisible, and instead, we should try to stand out for all the wisdom and experience we have.

 

Who is your style icon and why?

Without question Helen Mirren. I would have answered this question this way even before she was just featured on the cover of People Magazine.

I love that she not only embraces her wrinkles but has a no-nonsense approach to life. 

 

Is there something else you would like to share with us?

Life is too short to worry about what other people think of what you are wearing. Try all the different trends and shapes, and enjoy your style. Granted, it takes time to feel more confident this way, but it’s well worth it.

Can I let you in on a secret? I am not using it for anything sports-related. Although, there is debate about it because breath support is work. There is nothing effortless about it. 😁

Interview With Fashion Designer Luis Castaner

Hi There..... Are you a fan of business bags? 

Yes? Superb, then let me invite you to read this next fashion designer interview. All excuses are good to get you reading my blog posts. 😏

I wish I could invite you all for a cup of tea or coffee to go with this interview. There's just one slight problem. I don't think I can afford to pay for all your travel expenses. 😳

Unless it would be the way I and my 2 sisters did it when we were kids. We always took an imaginary train to the land of dreams. Cheap and very eco-friendly. 😎

After our mom left the room, our eldest sister would take us to the land of dreams by telling stories so that we would fall asleep faster. She was such a skilled storyteller it would be hard not to fall asleep. 😊

Still, I would often be disappointed the next morning that I didn't stay awake long enough to know the end of the story. 😴

My sis still tells stories, but in writing now. I hope she gets to complete her book about Tarragon slayer someday and gets to publish it. 😍

Now let's get back to reality. The fashion designer I interviewed this time is Luis Castaner, partner, and designer at Luis Steven LLC.

I’m a Financial Controller at a Movie Advertising agency.

What made you decide to become a Fashion Designer?

I wanted to start my own company and was tired of carrying boring black business bags to work.

Is fashion important to you? Why? 

Yes, it makes me feel good when I’m dressed with a touch of style, regardless of where I

go.

What are your successes, and how did you achieve them?

It’s a long learning curve to be able to create the products you see now under Luis Steven. Just getting to the point where I have a full line of beautiful business bags to offer the world is a great success.

Is the name of the Brand important to you when you buy clothing?

Not necessarily, but Brands that are associated with quality differentiate themselves in my view.

Describe your personal style of clothing?

We call it California casual.

How did you find your personal style? Do you have a signature look? 

Classy, elegant, colorful, and functional. Our bags use the best materials in the market, we

combine an element of fashion with a touch of functionality. 

Luis Steven is differentiated by the colors we use to add the element of fun and individuality. Our customers tend to identify themselves with colors they like. They identify with our bags as being part of their personality.

Do you have an influence on other people’s clothing style?

I hope to influence every person that commutes whether to a full-time job or a hybrid work environment. I want to make their experience very comfortable and at the same time a little exciting as they will be getting a lot of notice because of their Luis Steven bags.

What are in your eyes the best trends at the moment?

A move to more classic fashion as opposed to yoga-inspired clothing.

Leisure clothing.

Wear what makes you feel comfortable, add your flair to it. Don’t try to be someone else.

How to Take Care Of Dyed Hair - L'Oreal Professionnel Serie Expert Metal Detox

Hi There..... Do you like to take care of your hair? Have you ever heard of metal detox treatments for your hair?

Perhaps you color your hair, just like me. I don't recall when I started, I only know it was a very long time ago. It almost feels like ages ago. 😁

No, it was not to cover up my grey hair when I started dying my hair first. I just liked blonde more because as a child I used to be outdoors a lot, which made my hair go very light blond. 😊

As I grew older, my hair turned darker. Better dark than grey, I suppose. Then again, you can't see those grey hairs, because they magically all turned blonde. 😜

When I was about 15, we moved to the center of the city. There was a shop in our neighborhood that sold Henna to make your hair lighter or more ginger blonde. 😃

I remember passing there so often on my way to school, staring into the shop window, hesitant to go in. Until one day, I had the guts to go in and buy the stuff. 😀

Ah, brave me, right? Not quite, because it took me several weeks more until I gathered the courage to use the product. I was so afraid of how my hair would turn out. I certainly didn't want to become the laughingstock in class. 😏

Safe to say that after dying my hair for so many years with harsh chemicals, my hair has become dry and frizzy. That's why I was so happy Reviewclub picked me to test the shampoo and mask from the L'Oreal Professionnel Serie Expert Metal Detox line in exchange for my honest opinion. 😍

A groundbreaking scientific innovation that strengthens hair while achieving perfect, long-lasting color

After conducting seven years of research and working with hairdressers all over the world, L’Oréal Professionnel Paris has developed Metal Detox, the first protocol to detoxify hair by neutralizing the metal deposits found inside the hair fiber.

New hair technology Metal Detox tackles an issue that is routinely encountered by hairdressers everywhere: even with strong and healthy hair, the metal inside the hair fiber interacts with the oxidant during color, balayage, and bleaching, causing breakage and a less reliable color result.

It took seven years of collaborative work with the University of Ioannina in Greece for our scientists and hair experts to identify the cause of these issues and come up with a solution.

Using their in-depth understanding of the nature and composition of hair, University of Ioannina researchers identified the reason for the inconsistencies noticed by hairdressers, namely metal particles deposited inside the hair fiber, rather than metal on the surface.

Metal levels in water vary depending on the environment. Wash after wash, metal particles accumulate inside the hair fiber, affecting porous hair. Besides increasing the risk of breakage, metal particles, especially copper, react with the main active ingredients in color and bleach products, leading to unreliable color results.

The Metal Detox protocol by L’Oréal Professionnel Paris represents the first-ever application for this innovation, through a professional product range built around a three-step process:

Step 1: A pre-treatment that neutralizes metal before color, balayage, and bleach services.  

Step 2: An anti-metal cleansing cream that detoxifies the hair after the service.  

Step 3: A protecting care that prevents new particles from coming back.

My opinion on the L'Oreal Professionnel Serie Expert Metal Detox Shampoo and Mask

I've been using this hair mask in combination with the shampoo for about 2 weeks now, and I'm very happy with it! 😍

The shampoo lets my hair color last longer and gives it a lovely shine. If you combine that with the mask, your hair becomes nice and soft. I also love the smell of these products, spicy with a hint of citrus. 😋

One slight negative was the packaging because the shampoo had fallen over during transport and a small amount of product had leaked out of the container. 😢
