Nothing to do with drugs no worries 😁
Actually, the # sign on your keyboard is called a hash mark. But Social Media turned this sign into a symbol used with a tag in order to get found better on searches. For example, the hashtag #jewelry allows people to find all the posts that have been made or tagged with this hashtag in it.
So recently I had the chance to try out Flick, an Instagram hashtag research platform, that helps its users organically increase their following and engagement on Instagram.
Now that was something I couldn't refuse cause that is exactly what I am trying to do recently. I have already grown my Instagram following to about 2.400 but I really would like to have many more.
I know a girl cannot have too many followers 😎
So the graph below shows you what you get when searching the hashtag jewelry for instance.
But this is not where it ends cause you can go much further than this and do so much more advanced searches. These advanced searches are the ones that truly set Flick apart. The platform allows you to discover new ultra-relevant hashtags on which your target audience engage.
The Flick team realized that one of the biggest issues when researching hashtags is the fact that you always end up stumbling on the same hashtags. So they added an expand hashtag feature.
As the graphs below that show you what you get when using this expand feature. So after my first search on jewelry, I selected shopsmall.
When you use the expand function, you get the following graph
And the wonderful thing of all this is that you can even export all these hashtags to your Instagram.
Super handy.....don't you think so 😃
Their advanced search features include 3 different filters:
- Limit.....This allows you to control the number of hashtags Flick outputs on searches.....from anywhere from 5 to 50 hashtags
- Number of Posts.....You will be able to filter your search to find hashtags that have a certain number of posts on them.
- Number of Average likes on top posts.....You will be able to filter your search to find hashtags on which the ranking posts get a certain amount of average likes.
And don't worry that you might find it all too complicated cause they have guided video courses, a comprehensive collection of articles on how to use the platform, interactive tutorials, and a help center.
Hope you like my blog post.....Until next time.....Have a great weekend
