Hi There..... Do you like music?

I do..... Very much..... Some of you may not know..... But I am the lead singer of a Cover Band..... We haven't been able to practice for a while though..... At least not together..... And if there is one thing that makes me happy it is singing..... So this is not a very happy time for me now 😭

I cried my eyes out..... Or not..... I must have been mistaken..... I can still see for instance that I have a picture of Fletcher Moudy here below..... I actually stole it from his Facebook..... Sneaky me.....No worries it is ok because this blog is about his music..... And what is music without a face..... Right 😄

Ah, I see..... I made you curious now..... You want to know more..... That's actually the way I felt when I heard a small part of his music..... It has a strong country vibe and I have been a fan of country music like forever 😍

That's just like Fletcher Moudy..... He was born in Indiana and grew up listening to country and bluegrass music 😊

Did you know that Indiana was the home to Gennet Records..... And they are known for their recording a wealth of jazz, blues, and country music in the 1920s..... You can find out more about that on Wikipedia  😀

Fletcher packed up a truck in 2001 and moved to Dallas..... He was the frontman for the hard rock band SLUR..... Their single reached Top 40 on the charts..... But he grew tired of the rock scene and returned to his roots in 2016..... If you listen to the song parts you will notice this rock past in some of his songs too 😃

Now he dedicates all his time to songwriting..... He has been writing and producing songs for multiple artists worldwide 😄

How cool is that..... Ah, you don't know...... Of course, you don't..... You need to get some teasers from me first 😁

So now he has made a debut country album..... And if you ask me it's really good..... You should really give him the benefit of doubt and listen to these teasers that I chose for you 😄

What good cause to support when you are a pet lover?

Hi There..... Do you have a soft spot for animals?

I mean in your heart of course..... No, No..... Not the soft spot on the couch that's reserved for your four-legged friend 😂

Actually, I wanted to come back on a blog post I made in December last year about The AAP or Animal Assisted Projects 😊

The AAP focusses on the relationship between man and animal..... And they have found great ways to do so 😀

Like their plus-owner initiative..... Where people of 55 or older are given the chance to take care of someone else's animal for the day..... That way the owners can benefit too by knowing someone is giving their pet some extra love 😍

Another important goal of them is to also use their knowledge to offer training about the relationship between animal and man  😀 

And if that's not enough..... They also use their know-how to work together with the government and organizations..... And not just a tiny bit..... They really are devoted to their job if you ask my honest opinion..... I might try to fool you sometimes maybe..... But definitely not this time  😊

They have a helpdesk where you can ask all kinds of animal-related questions..... Citizens can report animal-abuse or neglect and they work together with the police or other services to find the best possible solution  😍

Hearing that really makes me happy..... If there is something I can't stand its people neglecting or abusing animals..... That is simply unforgivable  😖

Also very important for people who live in the neighborhood is their emergency care and transit if owners can temporarily not take care of their pet..... They have enthusiastic volunteers who are happy to support them in this task  😀

They also often intervene when an animal is seized..... They sit down with the parties involved to see which measures would be appropriate..... If necessary they give advice and support after the return of the owner's pet  😊

Oh yes, there is more..... They follow up on incidents with animals by consulting with the animal shelter, the vet or another expert about measures to guarantee public safety and the welfare of humans and animals  😀 

And last but not least..... There is their involvement in School projects, youth projects, and awareness campaigns in which they develop a diverse range of training courses and workshops tailored to young people..... Fabulous..... Right  😍

What are this season's must haves?

Hi There.....Do you like to dress casual?

I do..... I am a real jeans lover..... And at the moment I most prefer the more skinny type of jeans..... One that has elastic in it and fits perfectly around your legs 😃

You know when I grew up jeans weren't elastic at all..... They were stiff from top to bottom as far as I recall..... I remember going to the store and you had to hold your tummy in so hard till there was no air left in your body..... Well, at least it felt like that..... Just to get into that special pair of jeans..... I can guarantee you that it was a lot of hard work 😅 😁

Did you know that jeans weren't a fashion item at all in the early beginnings..... They were mostly worn by men as working clothes..... According to Wikipedia, they were used by sailors because they needed a fabric that could be worn wet or dry..... I bet those men would laugh their ... of if they would see us, women, in them now 😂

I just love looking up a little bit of history..... Both my sisters would laugh pretty hard if they would hear me say this..... They know that I hated it as a subject in class when I was young..... You see it's never too late to change 🤣 😂

What am I rattling away about again..... Haha, that's me I suppose..... You have to do what you are good at 😋

What is a Meme ?

Hi There.....Do you like to have fun?

Now if that's not a stupid question..... I don't know what is 😂

Who doesn't like to have a little fun in their lives..... Especially when things aren't the way they are supposed to be..... Someone always has to be the clown..... And I thought why not me..... I sure hope you are not afraid of clowns 🤡

I just love to play the role of the fool..... At least in my blog, I do..... In real life, I am actually somewhat shy 😄

There was a time..... When I was in school still that I used to be so very shy..... If people just looked at me I would turn completely red..... I am glad I got it under control now..... But red is still my favorite color 😁

So actually there are 2 places where I am in my comfort zone..... When I am on my laptop and believe it or not..... When I am singing on stage..... But please don't ask me to speak in front of a group..... I really hate that..... Weird right..... But hey, that's me I suppose 🙃

Where can I find some cool handmade pants for this summer?

Hi There..... How are things going over there?

Here in Belgium, we are taking baby steps to a new way of living with a gradual exit strategy..... We have been in lockdown for quite a while now..... I couldn't even remember how long it was..... So I looked it up and it seems that our lockdown started on the 18th of March..... But we have always been allowed to go outside still to do our groceries..... Or for taking walks, a run or other sports in the parc keeping the 1.5m distance in mind of course 😷

So far only the grocery shops, fabric shops, do-it-yourself, and garden shops were open for business..... Starting Monday all the other shops will be opening their doors again..... But I am not crazy enough to go shopping already..... A little crazy maybe but not that crazy 😂

It feels kinda weird though..... When someone in the supermarket wants to be in the same aisle as you..... They look at you in a way as if you could be their killer..... I am not sure yet if I like it..... In a way, it is pretty badass having people be scared of you..... Renata the Ripper..... Doesn't sound that bad 😁

But then again, who is the scaredy-cat..... Me, I suppose..... I am the one staying away from the brave shoppers next week 😅😂

How to be creative during lockdown?

Hi There.....Are you into fashion? 

I'm actually not really into fashion..... And the question is..... Do we still need fashion now that we are all locked up inside..... Do we still need to dress up just to go to the store..... I suppose not..... But then again we will not be locked up forever 😃

That's why today I wanted to share my..... Lockdown Fashion Trends

The trend is actually not for me..... But since lockdown started I have been very creative with a needle and thread..... Together with my new best friend of course..... There will be no fashion trend without him..... I know we are not supposed to let strangers in our homes..... But since my other friend gave up..... Just when I needed him most..... I welcomed my new companion with open arms 😁 

Indeed my new singer sewing machine..... We have become best friends lately 😁 

At first, I started making doll clothes for my granddaughter's baby born doll..... She is 4 years old and the first thing she does with a new doll is undressing her and put her in some other clothes 😂 

So I thought I should give it a try and went to the hobby fair for some small pieces of fabric..... And here are the things I made with those fabrics 🙂 

Pretty cute..... Aren't they 😄 

She actually didn't use my last one for her baby born doll..... But as long as she is happy with it..... That's what's most important 😁 

 
She said her centipede had a cold and needed the dress 🤣
But then something happened that I was not expecting at all..... My daughter loved them so much that she asked me to make some skirts for my granddaughter 😯 

She had never asked this before because she wasn't aware that I had so much sewing experience and could make things like these..... And I never asked her if she would like it..... But I do have to say that I hadn't sewed any clothes since she and her brother were young kids..... I suppose she didn't even remember because it had been very long ago 😊
The problem was that the corona lockdown had started by then and I couldn't go over there to discuss any fabrics or patterns 😳 

So I bought myself a book online with lots of patterns to make skirts for children..... Then using the Whatsapp video I showed her and my granddaughter the different patterns and this way they were able to choose their favorite one 😄 

All I needed now were the fabrics..... I knew she loved the one with the little Bambi's on it very much..... So I went on a search to find a shop where they had that specific fabric and lots of other cute ones 😊 

I found one that had everything I needed..... So I bought myself 1 meter of 3 different fabrics..... Now all I had to do was wait for them to arrive 🙂 

But then when I woke up the next day..... I realized that I forgot to get some elastic for the waist and some pink sewing thread for the pink fabric 😨 

So I decided to go to the supermarket and get some..... But no such luck..... Seemed that lots a people had started making masks and bought up all the elastic..... They had none in stock anymore 😷 

Ok no problem, I thought..... I would try to find some online..... That wasn't as obvious as I had hoped..... I needed an elastic of 2.5 cm wide according to the pattern but it was nowhere to be found..... I did find a set of black and white elastic of 3cm wide..... Not that I needed the black one but better that than nothing at all..... Right 😋 

So I made the waistband a bit bigger to be able to fit in the larger elastic..... And here is a picture of the 2 skirts I already made..... 2 down..... One more to go 🙃 

I was able to deliver the first one to my daughter's home and my granddaughter was very happy with it..... I will have to deliver the second one too but sure hope that I can give the last one to her in person 😍
