Have you ever wondered where that gorgeous arc of light in the sky comes from?

They only form when the sun is low in the sky and there is water in the air. The white light of the sun is split up in different colors by drops of mist or rain. When the light from the sun passes from air into a water droplet it slows down.

This makes the light bend and change its direction (refraction). That way it separates into the colors red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet and this light bounces back of the water droplet and is reflected in to the air.

Introducing To You - Yaelsplace

Hi There.....Do you like cake?

I suppose almost anyone does. I do that's for sure. And this I do also has a lot to do with the shop I would like to introduce to you - Yaelsplace

This shop sells mostly handmade Wedding Cake Toppers. Yael, the shop owner, is a self taught artist. She has been experimenting with different types of arts and crafts for most of her life.

About 10 years ago she decided to put the focus on her art. But when she discovered polymer clay a few years ago she immediately knew it would become her passion. The idea came to her when her nephew turned 4 and wanted animals on his Birthday Cake. Since Cake Toppers are not common in Israel she couldn't find any at such short notice and had to make them herself. She made it from marzipan to start with, but that made her realize they might work in polymer clay too.

From that point on it was a very challenging journey with mistakes and frustration belonging to the territory. After a few years she felt her work had developed enough to open her Etsy shop.

It was a slow start and having an online shop is very challenging on so many levels. Her customers are a great source of inspiration. She loves working with brides. Hearing their new ideas and requests to create custom Wedding Toppers for them that are the perfect addition to their wedding cake.
