Introducing you to - TerraOpheliaDesigns

Hi There.....Do you have a green thumb?

I don't that's for sure, I most recently destroyed a cactus.....not sure how but it died that is a fact.

So I am glad to hear that I am not alone, cause the shop owner of TerraOpheliaDesigns says she doesn't have a green thumb either 😀

Succulents are supposed to be easy to care for, or so they told her.

If you don't know what a succulent is.....here is what I found about it on the internet 😃

They are plants that have some parts that are thicker and more fleshy. This way they can retain water in dryer places where water isn't always available.

So they told Claire, our shop owner that these beautiful, colorful little plants that live in the desert would be pretty hard to mess up.

But they were wrong.....at least what Claire's concerned.

So born out of her logic-defying ability to kill even the hardiest of desert plants, Terra Ophelia Designs is all about the beauty of nature hand-sculpted into permanently vibrant creations.

Terra is Latin for earth, and Ophelia is her desert-dwelling pet leopard gecko, who represents a gem of beauty in nature's harshest terrains. For her these both names represent the loveliness of deserts and the life that flourishes within them.

She hopes that her designs can represent a slice of that beauty for you in a form that isn't quite so short-lived as the succulents she cultivated in both live and clay form in her humid North Carolina home.

I think it's time now to show you some of her handcrafted creations she wants you all to enjoy 😊

Introducing you to - NatureArtByBeccky

Hi There.....Are you a fan of mother nature?

Who isn't.....right? I actually wondered where that phrase came from. So this is what I found 😊

The phrase most likely stems from Greek Mythology. The Goddess Ge or Gaia (meaning earth) created everything and even gave birth to Uranus (meaning sky) and Pontus (meaning sea). So if this Goddess gave birth.....she must be a mother.....so this way they came to the term mother earth or mother nature.

Interesting to know, Isn't it? 😄

But this being said.....or written.....let me introduce you today to another Etsy shop called NatureArtByBeccky.

This shop owner doesn't have the easiest life, being a single mom to 2 boys with autism spectrum. You can understand that she wasn't always into art.

But most recently she had been inspired and started doing it just for fun.

Many of her friends wanted to know where she got her artwork from, and some of them also asked her to make them something especially.

This way she started thinking if her friends were interested then maybe others might even be willing to pay for her art. So she decided to give it a try and open an Etsy shop.

Let me show you some of the creations you can find in her shop 😊

Introducing you to - hugsbeads

Hi There.....Are you a fan of hugs?

You are.....come on just admit it 😉

A weird question you might think. But it has everything to do with Hugsbeads, the shop I am introducing you to today.

Paula, the shopowner, wants to take you on a journey on how beading found her. She was not particularly looking for a hobby, let alone a passion, but it chose her.

Sounds cool.....don't you agree 😃

It all started 10 years ago, shortly after she had given birth to two beautiful bouncing identical twin boys. She already had a 6-year-old and 4-year-old son running around, and now she was up to her eyeballs with feeding twins and changing diapers. Oh yes, she says, the endless diaper changes!

I already had similar thoughts when having one kid at a time 😰

She was running on steam, not getting much sleep, feeling each day merge into the next with every minute scheduled. She loved being a mom more than anything but was feeling slightly overwhelmed.

But help was on its way.....Her mom came over to help her with the twins and brought with her a project for them to share. A simple earring bead pattern, a needle, thread, and some beads. They sat down to learn how to make this pair of earrings. And that is all it took for actually both of them to fall in love with beading. Especially the fact of doing something a bit 'girly' for a change.

That is how a lot of us Etsy sellers get started.....doing something simple, loving it and wanting to learn more 😃

So to continue her story.....From that point, she researched how to sew different bead weaving stitches and learned techniques of bead embroidery, which she absolutely loved to do cause it gave her the feeling of being able to be as creative as she wanted.

Her twins are now 10 years and she has been beading for all those years! She loves the feeling of designing and completing a piece. It's just part of her now.

She finds her inspiration everywhere. Sometimes she draws them, sometimes she just keeps them in her thoughts until she gets into her studio, and other times she has no clue where a piece is going until it's in her hands and she gets to work on it.

You might have been wondering where do those hugs come in then 😯

That is because there is love behind every piece, a story, a discovery, a journey.....a hug in form of the beads. She wants that hug to be a small reminder that we all have talents within us that are just there waiting to be discovered.

Now let me show you some of the pieces she has listed in her Etsy shop.

Sun Ring, Beaded Celestial Rings, Bronze Polymer Clay Sun

Introducing you to Rabenkraeuter

Hi There.....Are you a fan of plants and herbs?

I would think most of us are 😊 I myself love to experiment in my cooking with herbs.

Well, I have a very special story for you this time about the shop Rabenkraeuter

A few years ago the shop-owner and her family were on their way to visit a small yard. The last part of the street a raven escorted them. He landed on a large upstanding stone on the farmyard. So they bought the micro yard and are still cultivating it today. The Raven, so they learned, was saved as a chick by one of the former farmers.

It often accompanies the shop-owner on her herbal walks. This black bird was the inspiration for 'Hof Rabenstein' and its herbs.

The shop-owner now gives guided tours, where she leads people around and teaches them about wild plants and their uses.

One of the most popular workshops is Blumenfeuer/Flowerfire. It's a workshop where they make colorful sugars and salts, and the participants get to take those home as a small souvenir. Then they cook a 'wilde wald und wiesen menu'.....a wild forest and meadow menu.....and end the day around the campfire.

That sounds great to me 😃

Another popular workshop is Herbarium production. Most participants in this are fellow herb teachers or Biology/Pharmacy students. They get to take home their own made flower press filled with a future specimen.

So those are some of the things you can find in her Etsy shop. Along with postcards made from beautiful pictures a fellow herb teacher makes.

I think it is time now to show you a few things out of the shop.

Decorative flower salt

Decorative flower sugar, rainbow sugar

Handmade botanical Greeting cards

Wild Harvest Curiosity: Dirndl olives with herbs, Cornel olives

Scented rose oatmeal bath salt and body scrub

Large herbarium. 15 printed postcards

Handmade plant flower press, herbs press, made of wood

Wild Harvest Curiosity: Dirndl olives sweet sour berries

Wild herbs or plants collection: Herbarium leaves

Those are some really special items in this shop.....don't you agree?

Hope you like my blogpost.....Until next time.....Have a great Sunday

Introducing you to - AnnArtJewelry

Hi There.....Are you a fan of unique jewelry?

I sure hope so cause today I am introducing you to a shop with unique boho macrame jewelry called AnnArtJewelry.

Anna, the shop owner is a self-taught macrame artist. She loves designing her own jewelry and gets her inspiration from Mother Nature.

In most of her pieces, she uses her own handmade polymer clay cabochons or beads. This way she is able to combine the colors the way she likes.

You might wonder what a cabochon is.....It's a rounded stone with a flat reverse. But you can also make them in polymer clay of course 😃

She also uses semiprecious cabochons and beads, seed beads, Swarovski crystals, sterling silver, and waxed cord. Sometimes she includes other raw materials like sea shells, nutshells, sea pebbles, sea wood.....this way she ensures that most of her jewelry is one of a kind.

All the materials are carefully chosen by herself and are of the best quality. The waxed thread also used in her designs is of high quality with timeless durability.

Let me show you some of the one of a kind jewelry pieces you can find in her Etsy shop 😊

Macrame Necklace, mixed media jewelry, finer art necklace

Yellow flower handmade macrame necklace, gift for her

Macrame set goldstone, macrame earrings, and necklace
