Interview with Jewelry DesignerTeleigha Peavy

Hi There, my gem-loving readers! Have you ever seen a piece of jewelry and thought, “Wow, this is so pretty—maybe I should be a jewelry designer!”? Ah, perhaps you are more like a little dragon, collecting every shiny gemstone because, well, they’re just too beautiful to resist?

I have to admit—I’m the second type. My love for gemstone jewelry started when I was a little girl. I got a pink quartz ring, and oh boy, I felt like a princess! 👸💖💍

Maybe I already knew that pink quartz is the stone of love (or maybe I just liked pink). My dad also had an entire collection of beautiful gemstones on his bookshelf, and I loved staring at them, wondering if they had magic inside. 🤔🔮📚

That’s why I was so excited to talk to Teleigha Peavy. She also loved jewelry but never thought of herself as a jewelry designer—until people kept asking her if she was one! One person even told her, You should be! Well, when life gives you a hint that big, you kinda have to listen. 😲💡💬

Now here’s the twist—when Teleigha first made her own jewelry, the paint started chipping off. (Oh no!) She wanted something that would never fade, so she started learning about gemstones. 😱🎨🚫

She read about their healing powers and even found them in the Bible! That’s when she realized: *Okay, okay, I get it! I can’t run from this—this is my destiny!* 😌🙏📖

Ok then, grab your favorite gemstone (or a cookie, that works too) and get ready to hear Teleigha’s amazing story about following her passion and creating stunning gemstone jewelry! 😃💎🍪

What is your name, function and the company you work for?

I'm Teleigha Peavy, Jewelry designer for L.Signature Collection by L.Styles

How old are you?

I am 37 years young.

What kind of work do you do, or what are you studying to be?

I’m the Principal accountant at my own accounting and consulting firm, and a Senior Accountant at a CPA firm.

What made you decide to become a Jewelry Designer? Tell me about your journey.

My journey into jewelry design began thanks to my grandmother, who is a true Southern Belle. She always believed that women should wear jewelry, especially earrings, and I used to get in trouble for not appreciating it as much—after all, I was a tomboy growing up.

However, after I had my first child, I needed something to help me avoid falling into postpartum. I had to stay strong and alert for my baby, and one way I found to uplift myself was by dressing up, including matching jewelry.

It made me feel better both inside and out, and eventually, I grew to love jewelry. Now, you can't stop me from wearing unique pieces! My journey from reluctant wearer to passionate designer has been deeply personal, and it’s what drives me to create pieces that make others feel just as special.

Is fashion important to you? Why?

Fashion is definitely important to me, but it's more about being able to rock your own style and define what fashion means to you.

My concept is simple: 'What works for you works for you.' I believe in daring to be different and unique—fashion is all about creativity and being true to yourself. That’s what makes it so powerful.

What are your successes, and how did you achieve them?

My successes include being featured in fashion shows, articles, and earning rewards in both of my businesses.

These achievements didn't happen overnight; they took a combination of teamwork, consistency, faith, and determination.

It’s been a journey of perseverance, and I’m grateful for the support and effort that have brought me to where I am today.

What’s something you might want to do in the future?

In the future, I definitely want to do more fashion shows. I haven’t done one in a while, and I’m eager to get back into that world. It’s an exciting way to showcase my designs and connect with people who share a passion for fashion.

Is the name of the Brand important to you when you buy clothing or jewelry?

Not at all. When I buy jewelry from other brands, I focus on the uniqueness and whether it's something eye-catching. The brand name isn't important to me—what matters is finding pieces that stand out and resonate with my personal style.

Describe your personal style of fashion?

My personal style is a blend of comfort and chic. I prioritize pieces that feel good to wear while still allowing me to express my individuality.

You'll often see me in long maxi dresses, joggers with heels, and wide-leg pants—styles that accommodate my shape and size while still looking polished.

My signature look includes a hat, layered necklaces, stacked bracelets, a V-neck t-shirt, jeans, and heels. I love how these elements come together to create an effortless yet put-together vibe that represents who I am.

How did you find your personal style? Do you have a signature look?

I found my personal style by focusing on what makes me feel comfortable and confident. Over time, I realized that I gravitate towards pieces that are both functional and stylish, which led me to embrace long maxi dresses, joggers with heels, and wide-leg pants.

These choices suit my shape and size while allowing me to express my personality.
As for a signature look, I definitely have one. I love to wear a hat, layered necklaces, stacked bracelets, a V-neck t-shirt, jeans, and heels. This combination feels like 'me'—it's a mix of casual and chic that I can wear anywhere and still feel my best.

Do you have an influence on other people’s fashion style?

I don't know if I do, but I hope that through L-Styles LLC, I inspire people to embrace their unique style with confidence.

My goal is to create pieces that resonate with individuals and empower them to express themselves authentically. If my designs encourage someone to take pride in their personal fashion choices, then that's a wonderful bonus.

What are in your eyes the best trends at the moment?

In my eyes, the best trends at the moment are collar shirts and jeans. This classic combination is versatile, stylish, and effortlessly chic. It's a trend that anyone can wear and make their own, which is why I love it so much. It’s a perfect example of how simplicity can make a powerful fashion statement.

What are in your eyes the worst trends at the moment?

In my eyes, the worst trends at the moment are lingerie-looking clothing worn in public or crocs with everything. Lol. While fashion is all about self-expression, some trends just don't resonate with me. I believe in finding a balance between comfort and style, and sometimes, certain trends push that a little too far.

What kind of fashion advice would you give us?

My advice is simple: Don't change your style because someone may not like it. Fashion is a personal journey, and it's about expressing who you are.

Stay true to yourself, wear what makes you feel confident and comfortable, and let your style reflect your individuality. Authenticity is always in fashion.

Who is your style icon and why?

I don't have a single style icon, as I believe inspiration can come from many different sources.

My designs at L-Styles LLC are influenced by a blend of diverse cultures, art, nature, and the everyday people who confidently express their unique styles. I find beauty in individuality and creativity, which is what drives me to create pieces that allow others to define their own fashion narrative.

Is there something else you would like to share with us?

Absolutely! At L-Styles LLC, we believe that fashion is more than just what you wear—it's a reflection of your personality, your confidence, and your unique story. We're not just selling products; we're providing our customers with the tools to express themselves boldly and authentically.

Each piece we design is crafted with attention to detail and quality because we want our customers to feel empowered and inspired every time they wear L-Styles.

We're also passionate about building a community around our brand. We love seeing how our customers style their L-Styles pieces and share their looks with us on Instagram

So, if you're looking for accessories and apparel that truly resonate with who you are, we invite you to explore our collection. Let's make fashion personal and meaningful together.
