The Best Tips on Women's Fashion - Female Body Types

Hi There..... Do you know anything about female body types? Do I need to ask you if you are a fan of women's fashion?

I don't think so. What would you be reading my blog for then if not to know more about women's fashion? Ah yes, you could have been waiting for a new review. Today, however, I wanted to talk to you about female body types. What would we be without them? 😉

You know, I had this post planned on Wednesday, but I was having so much fun that I totally forgot all about you sitting behind your screens waiting for my post to pop up in your mailbox. Haha, I wish that would have been the case. 😀

There were a few hurdles, and it drove me crazy, so I thought I'd take a day off and postpone it until today. The hard part was getting pictures I could use for my blog post without having to pay for them. 😬

I don't earn money from my blog, so I don't want to invest more than necessary. Just as Steve Jobs said, "My favorite things in life don't cost any money. It's really clear that the most precious resource we all have is time." So I thought you wouldn't mind waiting for somewhat longer this time. 😧

To make this blog post possible, I teamed up with Srilakshmi, a budding Fashion Designer from Yogic-Experience

Female Body Types

Understanding your body type is the key to women's fashion and styling. Only if you know what type you are, you will be able to choose the perfect outfit for you.

There are 5 broad classifications of female body types. It all depends on the distribution of muscle and fat in the body. Go one and get out your measuring tape and note the measurements of your shoulders, bust, waist, and hip. With the help of these measurements, you can determine which body shape is yours.

Apple

If you are curvy and have similar measurements on your shoulders, bust, waist, and hip, then you could be an apple or a round body type. In this body type, the waistline is usually undefined and the bust measurement would be high. This represents a circular outline of the body. Own your bust, and go for sharp silhouettes.

An example of a celebrity that has an apple-shaped body is Christina Hendricks - Here is a link to an Instagram picture of her :)

Pear

If your hips and thighs are broader when compared to your shoulders and bust, then you have a pear body shape. Geometrically, this is also referred to as the triangle body shape. You could really flaunt your defined waistline and highlight your shoulders, arms, and back.

An example of a celebrity with a pear shape is Kim Kardashian. Here is a link to a picture from her Instagram

Hourglass

If you have a well-defined waistline with a fair balance in your shoulder and hip measurements, then you have an hourglass body shape. They consider this to be an ideal shape (though rare in reality). Highlight your contours and flaunt the shape!

An example of a celebrity with an hourglass shape is Scarlett Johansson. Here is a picture on her Instagram.

Rectangle

If you have a fairly uniform measurement of shoulders, bust, waist, and hip, then you carry a Rectangle body shape. It makes you look athletic or straight, and the waistline is also straight. If you like to break the box frame, go for outfits that give a definition to your waistline.

An example of a celebrity that has a rectangle shape is Sheryl Crow. This is a picture from her Instagram.

Inverted Triangle

If you have broader shoulders when compared to the hip, you fall in an inverted triangle type. In this scenario, the shoulder measurement is higher than the hip measurement.

So we can mostly see a descending number in measurements from shoulder-bust-waist-hip. Flaunt your legs and highlight the lower half of your body.

The last example of a celebrity with an Inverted Triangle shape is Angelina Jolie, and this is a picture from her Instagram.

Thanks, Srilakshmi for your help 😍
