Interview with Fashion Stylist Jenn Rosado

Hi There..... Are you in for a new fashion stylist interview? In or not, you will have to be ok with my deep dive into the fashion industry.

Or you could stop reading, of course, who cares. Close my blog post if you like. It's of no importance to me. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

No wait, I was just kidding. Of course, I want you to read this fashion stylist's interview. Even better, the more you read, the happier I become. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Ah yes, I have built up quite some reading material over the years. In August I am celebrating my 5th blog birthday. If you have any suggestions on how to celebrate this event, let me know in the comments. ๐Ÿ˜Š

For all I know, I might even take your idea into consideration. Are there shops also celebrating their 5th anniversary? It could be a plan to do a giveaway together. Oh yes, I know, sometimes I come up with the weirdest ideas. Strange people do strange things, don't they? ๐Ÿ˜

Enough chit-chat, let's talk about Jenn Rosado, the 36-year-old fashion stylist I am featuring on my blog today. ๐Ÿ˜

What is your function, and the company you work for?

I am an Editorial/Celebrity Stylist, so I either put together clothing stories for magazines or I am dressing actors for all kinds of events - from Red Carpet to a big audition to a cast dinner.

What kind of work do you do, or what are you studying to be?

See the answer to question 1!

What made you decide to become a Fashion Stylist?

I was always creative and did musical theater throughout high school. After graduating, I was looking for another outlet to channel that creativity. I always loved to shop and coordinate clothes.

When I was about 19, I remember working in a restaurant and someone mentioning that I should be a designer. I knew I couldn't draw to save my life nor was I interested in learning, but was looking for similar careers and ran into styling and the rest is history.

Is fashion important to you? Why?

Fashion is important, but I would say that STYLE makes fashion. Without style, I think fashion would be like a Christmas Tree with no ornaments

What are your successes and how did you achieve them?

My successes are certainly still coming. I remember my first Red Carpet and thinking - Holy Moly!! I suppose successes come from recognition for doing your job well, so I would say every time I am hired for a new job, I consider that a success.

Is the name of the Brand important to you when you buy clothing?

The name of the brand is never important to me. It's all about how you wear an outfit and not who made it. Although, never underestimate the statement of a good designer piece!

Describe your personal style of clothing?

I would consider my style to be mostly City Boho but influenced by everything.

How did you find your personal style? Do you have a signature look?

The music I was listening to influenced my style in the early 20s. I was listening to lots of Joplin, Hendrix, and The Beatles while learning about Frida Kahlo, Dali, and Gaudi. I definitely wanted to be a "hippie" and thought that I was born in the wrong generation for a while.

I'm not sure if I have a signature LOOK but I certainly have STAPLES.
- A dark nail (pretty much year-round)
- White flowy dresses in the summer
- Knee-high boots for fall and winter

In what way do you influence other people’s clothing style?

It is my job to influence people's choices in what they wear. It's my job to educate people into what would be the most flattering and stylish look according to their body type and personal style.

What are in your eyes the best trends at the moment?

I am loving the direction pants are taking! I love a good trousers moment.
Oh, and Loafers!! Love a loafer!!

What are in your eyes the worst trends at the moment?

I hate how disposable clothing has gotten! I am watching girls reveal hauls of clothing that I know are going to be in the trash by the end of the season. While the brand is not important, we should invest in quality pieces that will last and become part of our forever closets! I am a big believer in FOREVER PIECES

What kind of fashion advice would you give us?

My fashion advice would be to tailor everything!!! This is going to make a $30 piece look like a $300 piece and completely elevate your wardrobe.

Who is your style icon and why?

Fashion Icons - Bianca Jagger, June Ambrose,  Patti Wilson, Rachel Zoe
These are just a few of my influences in fashion

Is there something else you would like to share with us?

TAILOR TAILOR TAILOR!!!!!!

Thanks, Jenn Rosado, for taking the time to answer my questions. I love your Instagram feed. You have lots of magnificent pictures on it. ๐Ÿ˜
