What are some great cities to visit in Europe?

Hi There.....Do you like to travel?
I love traveling but I hate airplanes.....Ok, I admit I am scared in an airplane.....But I have been on them a few times just because it is so much faster and on some occasions cheaper even 😁
Actually, I would love to go on vacation by train for once.....Just sitting on the train and watching the landscape is something I would really enjoy.....And I wouldn't have to conquer my fear of flying 😊
So there is a good chance that we might go to the south of Spain by train at the end of this year.....Although there is something that might spoil the party.....My husband has to go to his doctor next Friday to get the result of his foot scans.....He might need to get new surgery on his foot and then we won't be able to go 😱
The positive about this is that we don't spend the money and can save it as an extra for our next trip.....You see every negative has a positive somehow.....All you need to do is find it 😋
I do have a few trips on my bucket list though.....I would love to go to Lisbon Portugal one day.....It has centuries of history and tradition and it is said to be one of the most captivating cities in Europe.....And the weather is great there too 😀

But it does have a big negative for me.....It is called the city of seven hills.....They say no matter which way you go it always feels as if you are walking up.....That is a big problem for me because of my knee prosthesis.....My knee never went back to the way it used to be 😧
Another city that is on my list is Paris.....I went there on a school trip when I was about 14 years old.....It seems like ages ago.....Must be because it was in the previous age 😂
But there are a lot of things I still remember from my trip.....Going to the Louvre, The Gardens of Versailles and also Montmartre that was my favorite and something that really inspired me.....Especially the Painter's Square.....It's a place where a lot of artists come together to sell their paintings or maybe make a painting of you while you are there 😊

There is still one more city on my bucket list and that is London.....I also went there on a school trip the year after I went to Paris....I still remember a lot from that trip too.....Like going to the museum of Madame Tussaud where you can see the wax figures of a lot of famous people from history or films.....I also very much remember the museum of science and going to the theatre.....But the one thing I still want to experience is London shopping.....From the luxury shops to the retail or outlet shops and to the market for a few bargains.....Who doesn't love a good bargain 😋

So tell me what's on your travel bucket list 😀

DIY How can I make a 2 drop peyote bracelet?

Hi There.....Are you creative?

I am way too creative for my own good.....There is not enough time for me to do all the things I love to do.

At the moment I am most into beading and since I haven't done so before.....I thought this might be a great time to share a beading pattern with you 😊

Pattern 2 drop peyote (18 cm or 7.09 inch)

It is best to use Toho or Miyuki beads size 11 to get the best results

You'll need a slide clasp that is approximately the same width, or slightly more narrow than your bracelet band.

  1. Pick up a bead and go through it again to make a knot. This will be your stop bead.

  2. Pick up another 11 beads so that you have 12 in total (stop bead included).
This will be your first row, and you now are starting your second row.

  3. Pick up 2 beads and pass your needle through the 3rd and 4th bead of the first row.

  4. Pick up 2 beads and pass your needle through the 7th and 8th bead of the first row. Pick up 2 beads and pass your needle through the 11th and 12th bead of the first row (as shown on the image below).
  5. The second row is ready now and you are starting the 3rd row now.

  6. Pick up 2 beads and pass your needle through the 3rd and 4th bead of the second row.

  7. Pick up 2 beads and pass your needle through the 7th and 8th bead of the second row.

  8. Pick up 2 beads and pass your needle through the 11th and 12th bead of the second row. (as shown in the image below).
  9. Repeat this pattern until you have a length of 16.5 cm or 6.50 inch. Make sure to always pull tight your wire to get nice and even beadwork.

  10. Attach the slide clasp by picking up 2 beads and pass through the first metal ring on the clasp from front to back. Pick up another 2 beads and pass through the 3rd and 4th bead of your end row (as shown on the image below).
  11. Pick up 2 beads and go through the second metal ring on the clasp from front to back.

  12. Pick up another 2 beads and pass through the 7th and 8th bead of your end row.

  13. Pick up 2 beads and go through the third metal ring on the clasp from front to back.

  14. Pick up another 2 beads and pass through the 11th and 12th bead of your end row.
Make sure to pull your wire tight to make the closure fit tight. (as shown in the image below).
  15. Pass through these last beads and metal rings again in the opposite direction to make sure the thread is secure.

  16. Attach the clasp on the other end the same way you did on the first end of the bracelet.
And finished.....It's that simple 😋

Hope you like my blog post.....Until next time.....Have a great day

Where can I find handmade wedding clothes?

Hi There.....Do you like to get invited to weddings? Or maybe you are planning to get married yourself?

I love to see pictures of couples in their beautiful wedding clothes.....Almost a fairytale sometimes. My wedding was one out of a fairytale too but then again I might be a bit biased. We had a church wedding but I was not brought up like a real catholic......Although I was baptized and did my first communion.....My parents actually were non-believers but they did want us to make up our own minds. So I made up my mind and didn't do my Confirmation.....But we did have a non-confirmation party because my parents wanted us to make the decision without having the feeling of missing out on something 😋

The church wedding was actually because my mother in law was very catholic and we did it to make her happy.....I know I know not the right reason but hey I didn't want to have any beef with her before we were even married 😇

What you may not know is that tomorrow on the 1st of March it's Wedding Planning day 😊

It seems this day was established by The knot.....They are an all in one wedding planning resource.....They wanted to encourage the people that had plans for a wedding to start making plans as early as possible. People have a tendency to put their planning off until the last minute and as a result, they get stressed out.....Some don't even make it to the wedding day.

Not so clever to postpone things to the last minute.....Although I have to say that I do enjoy a great last-minute holiday 😁

So if you are thinking of getting married there is no time like the present.....Time to wake up because tomorrow is the first of March already......You don't want no beef with your family in law before you get the chance to tie the knot 😎

I thought it might be a good idea to help you get started a little by showing you some wedding clothes from Etsy shops.....That is if you want handmade off course 😍

My opinion on two products of the Vichy gamma.

Hi There.....Do you take care of your skin?

I do because I think it is very important but then again I am no spring chicken 😀

Although I have to say that I started with a day cream when I was a bit before 30.....Some people are starting to see the first signs of aging as soon as in their 20s but it all depends on your skin type and your genes play an important role in this too.

So I occasionally do product testing and recently I got the opportunity to review two products of the Vichy gamma.

Vichy Pureté Thermale 3-in-1

What the product promises to do.....It is cleansing milk, lotion and eye cleaning product all in one. It removes all traces of make-up and impurities in a single step. It is enriched with Captelae, a natural shea butter extract against pollution. It makes your skin feel soft and fresh. Its fluid and velvety non-greasy texture make it suitable for even the most sensitive skin.

Sounds like a great product now doesn't it 😊

My own findings of the product are that it does exactly what it promises to do. I myself have very sensitive skin so I have to be careful when choosing products to cleanse my skin. But this 3 in 1 product is so easy to use and it makes your skin feel nice and soft. The only negative.....that is actually a positive for most but not for me is that it puts a kind of layer on your skin and it prevents the special salve that I need for my Rosacea to penetrate my skin.

Now now there is no room in my blog for dirty thoughts.....I know what your twisted mind is thinking now but.....Let's keep it clean haha 😜

Vichy Neovadiol Substitutief Complex Day Cream

What the product promises to do.....It is an anti-aging Day Cream for the Dry Skin.....For menopausal women who seek to combat the effects of hormonal relaxation.....Things like loss of density, volume, freshness, and radiance. It has a non-greasy melting texture.....It recovers the vitality and density of the skin.....Restructures the volume and restores natural luminosity.

This is what every (ancient) woman.....or man would want.....Is it not 😉

Since I have Rosacea and I am getting a bit older I find it hard to find a good day cream that helps my skin and I must say.....no no I want to say this of course.....I am very happy with this cream.  It's a pretty thick cream but it is easily spreadable and absorbed quickly by the skin.....It doesn't make my skin feel greasy and I do have the impression that my skin looks better. Also, my skin is so soft and smooth now .....I just love it. And after having used it for every day the last month the jar is not even halfway.....So it's economical in use too. The only disadvantage for me is that it has a weird smell that I don't like.....But after a minute or 2, it fades away.

Did you know that if there is a constant odorant in a room that our brain starts to perceive it as decreasing over time and it is as if the smell seems to fade.....So if your dog shits in the room for instance and you leave it there for a while, you should get used to the smell.....Or you could just clean it up 😁

Hope you like my blog post.....Until next time.....Have a great day

How I got into drawing

Hi There.....Do you have a hobby?
I have several hobbies.....I am a singer in a band, I draw and paint, I am a beader and I am blogger, influencer too 😀
I actually have been singing and drawing ever since I was a young girl. I used to take my Long Play records.....I know they are ancient just like me.....They would sometimes have the face of the artist on them.....And then I would try to draw them as good as I could.....That would keep me busy for a while.....We did not have tablets or even computers at that time 😁
Later on, when I was about 19 I took classes to improve my drawing skills.....After 3 years I had to quit because I got married and moved to Germany to be with my hubby who was stationed as a soldier over there.....Three hours drive was just a tiny little bit too much to go back and forth for drawing classes 😋
After a year he got a transfer and we moved back to Belgium. I was pregnant with my daughter at that time and a year and a half later I gave birth to a son too. So you can imagine that I didn't have very much time left for hobbies.
When my youngest turned 1 I also got myself a job......I had graduated as a laboratory assistant but being in Germany I didn't really feel the urge to go find a job because of the language barrier and also because I planned to get kids early. About 5 years had passed since my graduation and I realized that it might not be the best idea to get back to being a laboratory assistant.....So I decided to find a job in administration.....Also because it would be easier when raising my kids.....So definitely no time for hobbies.....All work and no play... 😭
It was only when my kids were about 6 and 7 that I decided to take up classes for drawing again.....I started with Still life and followed those classes for 2 years. Then I switched to model and portrait drawing for the next 3 years.....Yes I did see a few nude models too 😁
When we moved again I switched schools and changed to landscape drawing. After 3 years I quit there because of a man who paid a bit too much attention to me.....He would often use me as his model without my knowing.....I didn't really like being watched all the time.....And when he even tried to kiss me that was the last straw 😖
But I did learn a lot after taking so many classes.....So I thought I show you a few of the Ink drawings I made in the last 3 years 😀

Always be sure to write in your own style.....Show us who you are in your writing.....
Avoid spelling mistakes by using Grammarly.....If the pictures you used aren't your own.....Don't forget to mention the source.....And most important try to be creative 😋

Where can I find some fun Valentines Day Gifts?

Hi There.....Do you celebrate Valentine?

Maybe you do or maybe you don't.....Or maybe you hate all the hassle around it.....Or who knows you might be thinking.....Who the ..... is Valentine 😉

Or should I say Valentinus.....It seems to have been a common name in ancient Roman times. As far as history is concerned there seem to be numerous Saints and various stories connected to this date.

There have been a lot of debates on 2 holy martyrs of the same name.....Priest Valentine of Rome and Bishop Valentine of Terni......Both dating from about the 3th century.

Some say they are 2 separate persons.....Others say there was only one of them.....And then some believe they are one and the same person.

The only thing that is certain from traditions is that Valentino was a good man that blessed young couples and performed miracles of love.

I actually was quite surprised to see that the celebration of this day dates so far back 😦

I found that the oldest "Valentine" that was found dates from the 15th century and was written by a man named Charles duke of Orléans written to his wife.....He wrote "Je suis desja d'amour tanné - Ma tres doulce Valentinée".....Translated that means..... I am already sick of love - My very gentle Valentine.

A bit cheesy if you ask me haha.....But then again maybe that's what it is all about 😋
