How To Start A Fashion Blog

Hi There….. Are you in need of some blogging education? Would you like to know how to start a Fashion blog?

Ah, this must be your lucky day because I am going to tell you all about it. 😁

Fashion and Beauty blogs are popular. Both among readers and bloggers because with a successful Fashion or Beauty blog, you can earn money.

Not that gaining money is my goal, on the contrary, I haven’t earned a cent. All I seek is Fame and Fun, trying out the occasional new product, and most of all the fun I get from sharing my thoughts with you. 😃

But you may wonder, how do you start a Fashion blog? And most of all, how do you distinguish yourself from all those other wannabe Fashion bloggers, like I am? 😨

Picture by Enrique Meseguer on Pixabay

That’s why today I wanted to give you some advice on How to start a Fashion blog.

First, you need to know what topics to include. So that is the first question you have to ask yourself. Will you write about Fashion do’s and don’ts, personal Fashion preferences, Fashion tips like Haute couture news, or what people wear on the street? Or maybe you want to write about celebrities, speak your mind about their clothing? Or you never know, maybe you are interested in handmade Fashion and reviews just like me? 😲

At first, my goal was to promote my Etsy shop with handmade jewelry. I needed to close my shop, but the love for blogging grew on me, so I kept my blog running. In the beginning, I gave free blog posts to Etsy shops from the people I knew. Handmade is still very important to me because I have been a small shop owner. The reviewing part on my blog came to be a lot later because you need to build an audience at first.

STEP 1

That’s why your first step to becoming a Fashion blogger is to answer this question: Why do you want to start a Fashion blog? Are you doing it to have fun or are you in it for the money?

STEP 2

What part of Fashion would you like to talk about? You need to narrow it down because you can’t talk about everything that happens in Fashion, that is practically impossible. Decide for yourself which subjects you want to write about.

Here are a few examples: Mom Fashion, Kid’s Fashion, Vintage Fashion, Curvy women Fashion, and so on.

Try to choose something that you have a link with and know a few things about, and try to stand out. Maybe it’s a good idea to check out some of your competitors? What do others write about? This may be a great blog to get some inspiration. https://www.whowhatwear.co.uk/

Defining this niche will make it easier for your readers to relate to you. They will know what to expect.

STEP 3

Think about a fitting name for your blog. Make it understandable, easy to spell, and something that people will remember. Google the name first to make sure nobody else is using it.

STEP 4

Who do you want to write for? What is your target audience? Are you writing for moms, businesswomen, pregnant women, men, a certain age group, people from a specific area on the map?

Picture by Michal Jarmoluk on Pixabay

STEP 5

When you have answered those questions, it is time to think about the platform you want to use for your blog. Some great blogging platforms that offer free web hosting are WordPress.com, Tumblr.com, Typepad.com, and Blogger.com. If I am honest, I really don't know that much about the pro's and con's of these, so I am going to direct you to another site. https://www.bloggingbasics101.com/choosing-a-blogging-platform-quick-reference/

STEP 6

Make a cool look for your blog in order to stand out. Make sure your theme is suitable for the many photos and pictures you will post. No need to worry about this too much because you can always change it afterward.

Picture by mohamed Hassan on Pixabay

STEP 7

Be sure to think thoroughly about your profile. It is important to present yourself well and let people know who you are. This makes it easier for your readers to relate to you. Pick a great profile picture and keep it up to date. Write an about page and let people know why you started your blog.

STEP 8

Time to write and get your blog post out there. Be consistent and publish at least one new blog post a week. It's all a question of how much time you have. Better to write one great post than to do 2 or 3 mediocre ones. Choose quality over quantity.

Picture by Diggity Marketing on Pixabay

STEP 9

If you can and feel up to it, try to learn a bit about SEO before you write. SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. Learning about SEO will make you rank higher in search engine results and generate traffic to your blog!

STEP 10

Start publishing that post of yours on all your Social Media Channels. You can read my blog post on how to Promote your blog post. https://seadbeady.blogspot.com/2020/08/7-great-ways-to-promote-your-blog.html

Picture by Gerd Altmann on Pixabay

STEP 11

Try to find some Influencer platforms that have opportunities for bloggers. If you decide you want to monetize your blog, get into affiliate marketing.

Remember, you are not the only fashion blogger out there, so try to stand out. Stick to your niche, idea, and don't suddenly change it overnight because that would confuse your followers. Use your unique style of voice and don't just copy others.

Hope you like my blog post.....Until next time.....Have a great day

What are the Fall Fashion Trends for this year - part 2

Hi There..... How was your day yesterday? How about I give you some more insight on the Fall Fashion Trends for this Year?

First, let me tell you more about my yesterday before I dive into those Fall Fashion Trends. I had my 4-year-old granddaughter come over, so that’s always tiring but enjoyable. My body gives me more than enough warning signs that it needs some rest, but I just try to ignore my pain and enjoy those moments. Today I pay the price for crossing that line, but it’s more than worth it. 😀

She is an only kid, and I always feel sorry for her having nobody to play with. That’s why I always try to play with her as if I’m her playmate. What on earth are you thinking with your twisted mind? I am talking about some kind of school buddy, nothing more. 😂

What she likes the most is when I give voice to her toys, dolls, barbies, or handkerchiefs even. You would lose it if you saw me, but I don’t care about making a fool of myself as long as she loves it. The twinkle in her eyes says it all, and a happy granddaughter makes a happy grandmother.

I finally got to show her the fabric I bought to sew her a dress and am so glad she loved it, especially the fact that it had a lovely gold and silver glitter.

I know it’s quite dark, but this fall is a lot about a dark retro vibe. On a site called WMFJ, I found something regarding fashion that I just had to quote ‘Actually a fashion trend is like a wheel. It will rotate and there is always a repeat at every point. What is trending today will repeat itself in the future, for example in 30 or 40 years? Who knows?’.

I have seen this happen more than once, and it always makes me smile. Thinking oh my, I remember wearing those kinds of things back when I was young. Yep, I'm old. 😁

For example, those big flower prints, plaids and tartans, fringes, leather jackets, and last but not least those leopard prints that have come back. I used to wear those big flower prints when I just got married and now they are all coming back.

If I make it to 80, and am still writing, I might talk to you about seeing things come back for the second time. Darn, why didn’t I keep my clothes in a locker to get them out again after 30 or 40 years?

Just like in my previous blog post, I asked some other Fashion Bloggers for some fall outfits I could share with you. I am always curious to see what others have in their wardrobe?

This first look is by Emily, who is from New York

The second one is by Lucy, who is from South Yorkshire

The third look for today is by Laura, who is from New York

And last but not least Tatiana's look, who is from The Netherlands

So tell me, which is your favorite? Would you wear one of these looks?

If you are interested you can read the previous post I made on Fall/Winter Fashion Trends - https://seadbeady.blogspot.com/2020/10/what-are-fallwinter-trends-for-this-year.html

How to pamper yourself with an Exceptional Cup of Tea - Flora Tea - Tea Flower

Hi There..... Are you a tea drinker? Have you ever heard of a Tea Flower? Maybe you like to pamper yourself with an exceptional cup of tea?

I would be quite curious to know more about this tea flower for sure because I am an avid tea drinker. 😋

Coffee is just not my cup of tea. Isn’t that a marvelous quote? I can’t quote the author because he seems to be unknown. The only one that used to drink coffee at home, when I was a kid, was my mum. My dad was a real Anglophile, he loved everything from Great Britain, including the English language. From all of Great Britain, Wales was his favorite destination.

My first visit to Wales was when I was 5. If I remember it properly, it was in a house we rented together with our Aunt (my dad’s youngest sister), Uncle, and Niece. I may have been just 5 but I remember very well my first English words were ‘push please’. No, no, I’m no pushover, or am I? 😧

Perhaps someday I will tell you all about my trials and tribulations, just not today. All I wished was for them to push me on the swing in the house’s backyard. There were some local kids we used to play with, and they taught us our first English words. 😄

I have some fond memories of our visits to Welsh Castles, villages with authentic clothing from the Middle-Ages, and teahouses. What stuck most with me were the Welsh teahouses with their delicious scones and their very special glass of tea. If you come across one, just go inside, I bet you won’t regret it.

Can you understand my excitement when they accepted me to try out these amazing tea flowers from Flora Tea? 😃

I bet you haven't heard of Tea Flowers either. They come in 10 different flavors at the moment and you can pair those tea flavors with the most beautiful glass.

Flora Tea bases their teas on green tea leaves. They say green tea reduces nausea, pain, stress, and it helps to speed up the metabolism. It also reduces the negative effects of our LDL cholesterol (bad cholesterol) and increases the effect of HDL (good cholesterol).

If you ask me, you can't go wrong with green tea. My first experiment was their 'Jasmine with Love' - Green tea and Jasmine - Not sure if it was good for me because I almost got high. Haha, no, it was just the scent of Jasmine that was incredibly hard to resist. Far out my favorite of the 3 teas they chose for me to taste. It's such a delicate taste, and I loved it.

Even though the process of this flower unfolding was fairly simple in comparison with the other 2, it was by far the prettiest result, if you ask me.

My second experiment was the 'Summer Love' - Green Tea, Carnation, and Osmanthus - it was fascinating to watch this flower open up. You could compare it to a fast-paced video of a blooming flower. Let me show you some pictures I took during the process. 😊

Amazing, Isn't it? I would however recommend using more water than I did because mine was too strong first but nothing a bit of extra water couldn't fix. Rookie mistake, haha, we learn by trial and error. Hey, I never said I was perfect. 😁

The tea was truly enjoyable too, and it lingered on my tongue for the longest time.

The last one I got to try was their Flying Snow - Green Tea, Marigold, and Coconut Fruit Fiber - This one was amazing to watch too but I am sorry to say it was not my cup of tea. A bit too bitter for me, but just a hint of bitterness can be too much for me, so for all I know, this could be your favorite.

If you are interested in tasting them you need to know that these products are exclusive and only available at Flora Tea. There are some other interesting facts too about this shop. 😮

The individual tea leaves are hand-tied with the selected dried aromatic flowers to form a ball. They only use the best tea leaves from the first harvest on the plantations in China and Japan.

Their tea flowers won the Great Taste Awards, a prestigious gastronomic event held annually in the UK.

In recent years, the entire collection has been awarded, and some received the highest rating of 3 stars.

They also awarded them at The International Taste Institute in Brussels with the Superior Taste Award.

Impressive, Isn't it?

Where To Find Handmade Earrings and a Crochet Bikini - Yota Beachwear

Hi There..... Are you also dreaming of long walks on a white sandy beach, wearing some cute crochet bikini and handmade earrings? The wind whistling softly in your ear, the salty smell of the ocean?

I just can’t wait for this cold, dark period to be in the past. It’s about time all this Corona madness is over. All this craziness makes me long for springtime even more. 😟

What did you say? Ah, of course, you aren’t used to the gloomy side of me. We had better ditch that part of me and get the sunny side up. Just flip me over like an egg. That’s what we need in such unpleasant times. No, not eggs, my cheerful side. 😁

My mom used to call me the sunshine in the house, I was always in a good mood. My positive spirit would rub off on her, she used to say. For instance, although I hated doing the dishes terribly, I would still sing. I noticed that I don’t sing anymore during the dishes, but that’s most likely because the dishwasher does them. It is quite different because I have never heard the machine sing. Wouldn’t that be a bright idea, a singing dishwasher? 😂

Ok, back to the thought of those sunny beaches. Imagine yourself on a tropical beach. You are laying on your beach towel in your brand new crocket bikini with those gorgeous handmade earrings. Isn’t that a wonderful thought? 😀

That’s the idea Yota Beachwear had in mind when she was in lockdown back in May. She’d learned how to crochet when she was about 7 or 8 years old. Meanwhile, growing up, she created a lot of pieces but never took her talent to the next level.

Because of this quarantine period, she had a lot of spare time on her hands. She realized she wanted to do something useful. Making crochet bikinis made sense, since she lives close to the beach and travels around with her van. Later on, she also added crochet tops, bags, and earrings to her collection. She likes the idea that any woman has a bikini body no matter what. 😊

I love the thought behind her idea. Women should learn to love their bodies. Even the most beautiful people will tell you they would like to change a few things on their bodies. Society created the perfect image in our heads and this so-called perfect body. 😜

Oh wow, I just realized, I must be totally like them. I can’t see myself modeling for a picture in a crochet bikini or some other beachwear. I didn’t mind showing off these cute handmade earrings she gifted me, though. 😄

Now I am the proud owner of some unique handmade earrings. Maybe you should follow this link to her Instagram to check out all her cute beachwear. I can tell you already that she makes some incredible crochet bikinis and tops.  Here are a few examples of those lovely handmade creations.

Wouldn't you want one of those for your next trip to the beach? Not that I am an expert, but I think they are delightful.

Hope you like my blog post.....Until next time.....Have a great day

Renata (Seadbeady)

What are The Fall Fashion Trends for this Year - Bohemian Chic

Hi There..... Are you interested in the Fall Fashion trends for this year?

Vogue Paris says that the winter mantra is an allure of outside-the-box, timeless style. It comes in a mix of all kinds of trends, from romanticism and darkness, bohemian chic and bourgeoisie, to sexy charms and extra volume. They say you can adapt it to your personality and pick exactly what suits you from here and there to construct your style.

Sounds like fun to me if you can do whatever you want. 😁

One of those styles that’s on the rise is Bohemian chic. They highlight this style, with intricate embroidery and rich fabrics.

I read on Wikipedia that many elements of this bohemian chic style became popular in the late 1960s and some date even back much further to the mid-late-19th century. It became even more popular after Sienna Miller, a British American actress, her appearance at the Glastonbury Festival in 2004.

A Bohemian is an original inhabitant of Bohemia, the western part of Czechia. It’s the French word for the gypsies in France who claimed to be from Bohemia. This is the way it became the name for Roma or Gypsies in France.

That is how I most remember it as gypsies. When I was a young girl, I remember there were always gypsies camping in the meadow outside the village. They were very poor and looked shabby and anything but clean. People always taught us to avoid them because they were thieves. I can’t say if those were rumors or if it was true because I was too young. 😇

Maybe the biggest problem was that they had their own culture and lifestyle and did not conform to our norms and cultures. They were against materialism and their highest priority was freedom, individualism, and creativity. So maybe that’s why the majority did not accept them. As far as I know, their kids didn’t go to school either, so there was nothing they had in common with the people from our town. 😯

The Bohemian chic style of today looks a lot similar to the traditional gypsy style costumes. The long wide skirts with many prints and colors, wide shirts and cardigans, ponchos, large and lots of jewelry with stones, feathers, beads, symbols, and leather. Everything is possible and allowed in this Boho-chic style as long as it makes you feel beautiful. 😃

I asked some other Fashion Bloggers if they had some fall fashion outfits that I could share with you. I am always interested to see what others are wearing, aren’t you? 😉

This first look is from Lindsey, who is from a small town in Wisconsin.

The second look down below is from Kari, who is from New York City.

This third look is from Yana, who is from Antwerp.

This fourth and last one is from Nancy, who is from the Netherlands.

Would you wear one of those four? Let me know what you like and if you would want me to share more of these kinds of posts 😀

Hope you like my blog post.....Until next time.....Have a great day

My Visit to the FlemishTram and Bus Museum (VlaTam)

Hi There..... Have you ever been to the Flemish Tram and Bus Museum (VlaTam)?

Yesterday, I went to the nocturne there with my sister to meet up with a friend of the family that we hadn't seen for about 30 years. I hope you weren't waiting on my blog post to appear for too long. Yes, the tram museum nocturne was in the evening, but my sister and I met up sooner and went out for dinner to an Indian restaurant. 😋

The VlaTam museum tells the history of tram and bus transport in Flanders. You can find the collection of trams and buses in the protected Berchem tram shed of Groenenhoek.

The over 50 restored vehicles provide an overview of more than a hundred years of urban and regional transport. Eye-catchers in the collection of the Vlatam include the first electric tram in Antwerp and a steam tram locomotive with trailer and stove heating. Photos and many objects - models, attributes, art, flags ... - tell us about daily life in and around trams and buses. They have an archive and lots of paper documentation.

The Antwerp tram started in 1873 as a horse tram company. The Compagnie Générale des Tramways d'Anvers (CGTA)  took over these former tram companies on January 1 of 1900, and they took the first electric trams into service on September 2, 1902. At first, there was a mixed service with horse trams, but after a while, all horse trams disappeared from the Antwerp streets. You can find more information about the trams in Antwerp on this page of Wikipedia.

The tour started with this Motorcar 200 that made its appearance as the first electric tram, but it still looks like a lot like the horse tram. 😊

This tram had curtains in the beginning when they came in service, but because some people used those curtains to blow their noses or to clean their sweat, they took those curtains away again.

Can you imagine that, pretty Gross, isn't it? 😝

The tram drivers called the tram below the Brilletjes (little spectacles) because they received a chassis from constructor Brill. They made them extra elegant but less powerful to serve in particular to bring the wealthier ladies to the city to have a coffee, and thus they also received the nickname the madammekes (little ladies). 😊

I used to remember taking the tram back home from school and it would be full of elderly ladies going home from their coffee chat in the center of Antwerp. Normally I always stood up for elderly ladies and pregnant women, but not for those coffee chat ladies with their fur coats because I hated them. Sorry to say, but I have no pity for people that wear fur coats. 😎

They especially made the tram below to take the people from and to the World Expo in 1930.

Between 1929 and 1934, the tram company in Antwerp closed all the rounded balconies of the existing trams and replaced them with folding doors. To make sure that they could transport as many people as possible, they took out the seats. 😮

They preserved motor car 305 as a museum tram at the Association for the Tram Museum to return it to the original condition of 1902. It was very well preserved and with just a small restoration they could replicate the interior of the trams similar to those in times of the Second World War.

Can you see that the lights in this tram are blue? That was because in times of war they had to dim the lights. They allowed us inside this one, which was a cool extra, and I could get some shots from the interior. 😍

Did you also notice that they tainted the windows and only left a small round opening to see-through? I am sure I would have become nauseous because of my motion sickness. 😵

This is a picture of the driver's cabin. So sorry that I couldn't get a clearer picture, but that's because of the poor lighting. 😯

From 1938, they rebuilt and modernized and renumbered their trams to make the series 101-233.

Normally they don't allow you on this tram, but since our friend is a volunteer in the museum, they bent the rules for us. 😇

This one below they call the Duvel (Devil) because they were the workhorses and the dump wagons you see here were used to transport sand, cobbles, and crushed stone.

I really had to stand on my toes with my hands above my head to get a decent shot of these, but the pictures turned out great, don't you agree? Don't you dare to say that they're no good.  😧

In these 1907 passenger cars on the picture below, there were 24 seats, an unlimited number of standing places, and a further 9 passengers could join the balconies.

Two oil lamps like on this picture below had to provide the lighting. In winter, the chef kept the stove running, all in a wooden body. That sounds hazardous and not something that I would be comfortable with. 😱

There is a lot more I could tell you, but it's time for you to get up and get some work done. Haha just kidding, no need to get up if you don't want to. Although it is best to keep off the rails.

That's what the sign above means. 😁

This museum works solely on volunteers and gets totally no support from the Government so if you want to support them why not pay them a visit? There is another nocturne next Saturday, the 24th, on the 31st there is a Halloween themed event and on the 6th and 7th of November, there is a Ghost walk (under the spell of the Watman). You can find all the information on their website https://www.vlatam.be/

In my search for more information on this topic, I found that Eric KEUTGENS wrote a book about this. If you are interested in reading about this, you can find it here https://www.etwie.be/publicatie/de-antwerpse-tram-van-paardetram-naar-pre-metro (The Antwerp tram. From horse tram to pre-metro). No, I have nothing to gain from you purchasing that book.

Hope you like my blog post.....Until next time.....Have a great day

Tips on where to find a Skin Jewelry Set and Sexy Lingerie For Women - Livebetter

Hi There..... Do you like sexy lingerie for women? Do you know what a skin jewelry set is?

If not, let me introduce you to the naughty hotspot from The Netherlands?

I bet you weren’t expecting me to be a naughty girl and know about those kinds of hotspots. Never judge a book by its cover because you may be in for a surprise then. 😁

My sisters would laugh out loud when they would hear me say that. They would always be the naughty ones when we were young girls. I was always the one holding back because I did not want my parents to get angry at me. 😇

There were so many times I got punished, even when I did nothing wrong, just because my sisters would not own up to their mistakes. Moments like that would cause all three of us to get punishment. The biggest problem maybe was that I was no snitch. 😟

Not my worst trait, I know, but it was hard being disciplined when you shouldn’t have been. Still, they may not have had a conscience when they were kids, but they never turned out to be serial killers. Although you never know. Oh wow, what if they are, but I am just not aware of it? 😱

Ok, ok, I am going to shut up about my boring past and talk some more about this naughty hot spot I found. It was on a hot summer night. The wind was gently blowing her hair back as she sipped her glass of wine. Wouldn’t that be a great way to start a novel? 😂

Ok then, time to get somewhat serious again. Not too much, because that wouldn’t really be me. But what would you say if I would talk about eco-friendly, hypoallergenic skin jewelry? That sounds a lot more like me now, doesn’t it? 😄

Yesterday, I received a package from Livebetter with a lot more than I expected. The friendly lady from the shop said I could pick something I liked. Being greedy is not in my nature because I always put myself in other people’s shoes. I always try to feel what they feel and wouldn’t like it either if someone would take advantage of me, so I picked a beautiful pair of earrings. 😍

When I received the package, I remember that I was thinking 'Wow that’s enormous for just one pair of earrings’. Imagine my surprise when I received all this. 😊

They have a lot more gorgeous sets of Batacuda skin jewelry in their shop, a complete product line of necklaces, bracelets, and earrings. The designs are exclusive and made from environmentally friendly materials.

That is something that always makes me happy when brands are eco-friendly. The jewelry felt very nice against my skin, and it made me feel very elegant and special. They also are almost weightless, which is cool too. 😃

This skin jewelry is also a 100% recyclable, hypoallergenic, oil-free, latex-free, silicone-free, nickel-free, phthalate-free, and lead-free.

Ah, I get it, that’s probably why they are so light because there is nothing left. 😂

But as you may have guessed, that’s not the reason they call themselves the Naughty Hotspot. They have everything you need for an exciting evening: sexy lingerie, clubwear, massage oil, lubricant, condoms, and more. 😉

It’s not that I couldn’t have used any of those things, but most of my followers are much more into jewelry. Don’t tell me that this is not the best excuse you ever heard. No need to worry, I am going to show you a few of those desirable items here too.

Halter mini dress (silver)

Feather: light blue babydoll

Sexy body with blue lace

Now that is what I call stunning lingerie that a lot of men would love to see their women wear. Can you imagine yourself or your girl in any of them? 😁

If so, this is your lucky day because you get a discount with the code RF10

Valid till the end of November on all lingerie and stockings https://www.livebetter.nl/lingerie-kleding/dames-lingerie/

Hope you like my blog post.....Until next time.....Have a great day
