Review on the Jouwbox - Take Care Of Yourself with Ekoplaza Natural Products

Hi There..... Do you like to take care of yourself? Are you a fan of natural products?

Yes? No? Are you really going to tell me you don't like to take care of yourself? I sure hope not, because it is so important, especially in these weird Corona times. Wouldn't it be great if you could do this with natural products? 😄

You know, when I was a young girl, it was quite natural to have natural products. I know, I am ancient, haha. I remember things like the brown soap my mom used to clean the floors or like the soap we used to wash was just glycerine soap with no particular scent added. 😏

It wasn't all good, though. I remember the deodorants weren't anything like those of today. I had a lot of problems because of that. We had to wear school uniforms and since we weren't rich, we only had 2 uniform blouses that had to last for the entire year. 😳

Can you guess what happened? At the beginning of the school year, the blouses were new, clean, and fresh. The washing powders weren't as potent as they are now, so after a while, the scent of our armpit sweat didn't wash off anymore. At the beginning of the week, the blouses were still ok, because they had just been washed, but by the end of the week the stench resurfaced again. 😬

I was very much aware of that and in the morning as I had just put on deodorant everything was still cool. By the end of the day, however, I felt more like a penguin, keeping my arms close to my body not to let others notice the stench. Ah, those good old days. 😏

Some things are better left forgotten, I suppose, so let's talk about more interesting matters. Last Friday, I received another 'JouwBox' (in English that would be Yourbox) to review. 😍

This one is a special edition. Nutritionist Ralph Moorman went in search of the gems of health and quality in the EkoPlaza range. This means that the JouwBox only contains products that meet its strict health criteria. Inside are 17 natural products with a value of € 140. You can get yours for just € 49.95, delivered completely free to an address of your choice. 😀

You will have to hurry, though, because at the moment as I am writing this only 2% are left. 😱

This Ekoplaza edition contains a delightful mix
of food, vitamins, and care products. What makes this collaboration special is that Ralph Moorman has been working with Ekoplaza for at least 10 years to make organic food more known and popular among the public. This contributes to a healthier and more sustainable world. Also, the products in this edition are all for sale at Ekoplaza. 😊

First, let me tell you what's inside the box this time.

1. LOVECHOCK - SALTED PECAN 80%

2. ARTIC BLUE - PURE ARCTIC FISH OIL CAPSULES (60)

3. INNERME - PROTEIN BAR CHOCOLATE

16. VITALS - SAFFRON LCS ORGANIC - 60 CAPSULES

17. BEE HONEST COSMETICS - HAND SOAP NEUTRAL

Or you could check out this video

WELEDA - ALMOND SOOTHING SHOWER CREAM.

Before I tell you some more about this shower cream, let's see what their website says about this product.

The Almond Soothing Shower Cream gently cleanses thanks to its soap-free formula. It is very suitable for sensitive and easily irritated skin. It protects the skin from drying out thanks to its cream texture enriched with organic almond oil.

The shower cream respects the natural balance of the skin thanks to a skin-friendly pH value and leaves a soft almond scent on the skin.

Because it was a tube, it concerned me at first that once opened, I would have to close it each time after taking some out of it. Luckily that was not the case, because it's thick enough and it doesn't ooze out of the tube. 😌

I was pretty happy with it because my skin felt nice and soft after my shower. The skin on my legs especially is quite dry and often after taking a shower my legs get all flaky. Not this time, so I didn't need to put on extra body lotion after showering. 😃

BOTANIQUE - POMEGRANATE SHAMPOO BAR.

Let's see what their website says about this shampoo bar for dry and damaged hair.

The bars are made with ingredients of natural origin, without palm oil, and from certified organic cultivation. The 'ZERO plastic inside' logo of the Plastic Soup Foundation shows that no micro-and nano plastics have been added. One bar equals the use of three shampoo bottles. Very durable. The wonderful scent comes from natural essential oils. And to keep the color and scent good, the bars come in a plastic-free box made of FSC-certified cardboard.

Before you try this one, I would recommend that you buy a soapbox if you don't have one yet. I didn't have one, so I used the lid of a plastic jar. That caused a slight problem. 😉

First, I wet my hands and rubbed the shampoo bar between my hands. Then I massaged it in my hair and put the soap on the lid. I was almost certain that I would have to do that a second time. 😦

It didn't seem that much to me, but I was wrong because my hair foamed nicely. After rinsing my hair, I noticed I had not put the jar lid far enough from me and it had completely flooded. Typically me. Not the perfect way to let it dry. 😁

BEE HONEST COSMETICS - HAND SOAP NEUTRAL

Let's see what their website says about this hand soap.

This hand soap combines gentle cleansing with natural, nourishing ingredients, including organic honey that nourishes, protects, and helps restore your skin. Enriched with a natural, allergen-free perfume, suitable for easily irritated skin.

Skin type: suitable for all skin types, especially sensitive skin.

Use: shake the bottle before use if necessary. Use the pump to dose, wash your hands and rinse.

I have tried products from Bee Honest before, but not their hand soaps, so I was curious to find out more about this one. I love the fact that it is gentle on your hands because our hands have suffered so much already in this Corona crisis. Washing my hands so frequently really made them dry and not soft at all. This soap doesn't just clean your hands, but it's nourishing as well. What more could you ask for. 😍

Some of you may already know that I want to give equal attention to all the products from this box. Just keep an eye out on this blog, because you will find out more about the other products from this Jouwbox pretty soon. 😍

Hope you like my blog.....Until next time.....Have a nice day

Interview with Woman's Fashion Instagram Influencer Jeni Elizabeth

Hi There..... Are you ready for another Instagram Influencer Interview?

You had better be because this blog post is about woman’s fashion most of all. 😀

How many followers do you have? I recently made it over 6500 on Instagram, but I had to work so hard to get that far. My first post from January 2017 already had something to do with woman’s fashion. It was a post about a piece of jewelry I was making. 😊

Back then, making and designing beadwork jewelry was my favorite pastime. It never crossed my mind to become an Instagram Influencer. I wasn’t thinking about being a blogger either. 😎

All I wanted was to have fun, share my makes with people, and gain followers. I had no clue how to grow my following. I just winged it. It took me a while to figure out how it all worked. 😓

When I started, I did not realize that just following others and hoping they would follow me in return was not the best tactic at all. Some of you may not know this either, but there is a maximum amount of accounts you can follow. I found out the hard way. 😵

The maximum is 7500. So sorry to burst your bubble. I know what you are thinking now. Oh yes, I can read all of your minds. You are thinking I am quite a mean girl. 😈

Don’t complain. At least you had someone to warn you. I kept on following people and didn’t quite understand why they got automatically unfollowed after a few minutes. I thought, oh my, what have I done to make Instagram punish me again? They had punished me a few times before for using unfollow apps. 😬

I thought it would probably be ok in a few days, so I kept on trying and got really frustrated. I can tell you, it takes a lot to get me frustrated. You should thank me for bursting your bubble before it got way too big. So I am not as mean as you may think I am. 😇

Now that we got that out of the way, let me introduce you to Jeni Elizabeth. She is a 41-year-old Instagram Influencer, and she has just a teeny bit more followers than me. Haha, no, she has over 20.500 followers on Instagram and another 20.400 on Twitter. That’s why she is answering my interview questions today, and not me. 😁

Do you have a day job? Full-time or Part-time?

Previous to the pandemic, I had been a network and celebrity wardrobe Stylist on shows such as The Real and Martha & Snoop Potluck Dinner Party. In addition, I report lifestyle and fashion segments for WTNH Good Morning CT live at 9am.
I am hoping to be back to work soon as my children are back in school full time! I am an Amazon Influencer as well as an e-commerce fashion writer.

How many hours do you spend on Instagram on average?

3 hours

Is fashion important to you? Why?

Fashion has always played a very important key role in my life. I have always felt that clothing was an amazing form of self-expression.
I am always drawn to people who take chances with colors and patterns instead of conforming to everyday standard trends. I think it is important for people to SHOW who they are and have fun with color and clothing.
I have also always felt that clothing can make people smile and be happy, and I love that.

What are your successes and how did you achieve them?

I have been fortunate to have had many successes along the way with my career. I worked with incredible people, networks, celebrities, and production companies. In our line of work, jobs are lined up by word of mouth. Nothing is ever a guarantee.
I have always loved the entertainment community and the family that comes with it. Working on The Real and Martha and Snoop as Lead Stylist was absolutely one of the highlights of my career. I am also very proud that 99% of my clients have remained my friends after our time on set was complete. Dressing someone is a very intimate job, one that I take seriously, and I am proud to say that my clients have felt comfortable enough with me to remain in my life and develop lifelong friendships.

Is the name of the Brand important to you when you buy clothing?

Name brands have never been important to me. I have had several clients in the past that hold allegiance to certain brands, and I always try to honor that.
However, if left to my own devices, I certainly have my brands I lean-to for quality products, but I am absolutely more of a “mom and pop shop” buyer.
One of the amazing things about my job is that I can offer small shops exposure and perhaps bring them business on a national level, depending on the client or show I am working on.

Describe your personal style of clothing?

I would always show up on set saying “Don’t worry about how you look, only worry about how I make YOU look!” Being an onset stylist is not as glamorous as it sounds. There are nights where you are lucky to get 4 hours of sleep.
I would say the majority of the crew is usually in sweat pants rocking a side ponytail, especially by day 3!
However, with that said, I also love to have fun with color. I am not a “matchy-match” girl. I love mixing patterns and having fun with clothing.
On any normal given day, you will always find me in leggings and a t-shirt. I will say I love to have fun with my sneakers! Unfortunately, I do not have a job where I can wear Louboutins every day, so I love expressing myself with fun sneakers!

How did you find your personal style? Do you have a signature look?

I found my personal style by dressing every day in what I felt to be most ME! I have never been a fancy girl, and I have also never felt the need to impress anyone.
As a wardrobe stylist, I think people always expect me to wear the latest fashion and trends.
There are certainly stylists within our industry that feel that way. However, for me, I want to be comfortable, have fun, but be myself.
I think I have always accomplished that. I am a bit of an oxymoron and my friends think it's quite funny. Whereas I work in fashion, you will not see my clothing on the runway!

Do you have an influence on other people’s clothing style?

As a stylist, I think it is important to encourage your clients to take risks and maybe step outside of their comfort zone, while also making sure that they feel comfortable and happy in what they are wearing.
At the end of the day, when they walk onto that stage or set, if they are not comfortable with what they have on, it will read on camera.
I try to influence my clients to have fun, but also embrace who they are. My job is not only to dress them, but also to give them the most self-confidence they can have, and THAT is one of the best parts of my job!

What are in your eyes the best trends at the moment?

I think coming out of the pandemic, trends and styles have taken a bit of a turn (for the moment). There are not many places to go where you can rock what just came off the runway.
I am loving the comfort jumpsuits, playful masks, amazing sneakers. I am a huge fan of headscarves, so I am excited about that for spring. Yellow is also one of my favorite colors, and I believe it makes people happy, so I am excited about that as well.
I love Easter and Spring months of pastels and fun patterns. Spring heading into summer is always one of my favorite times of the year when it comes to fashion! Coming out of winter months with dark colors is always a fun time!

What are in your eyes the worst trends at the moment?

Personally, I am not a huge fan of knee-high boots. I love booties and I love a good thigh-high for the right moment. However, I have never really been able to get on board with knee-high boots. I think they cut the leg in half and are not always super flattering.
White knee-high “80’s” boots seem to make a huge comeback for spring, and I am not super excited about that!
I also have a huge dislike for mock necklines, specifically mock turtlenecks. However, I have a feeling that like denim, they will never really go away!

Those are definitely two items you would have difficulty finding in my wardrobe rooms!

What kind of fashion advice would you give us?

Embrace yourself. Make people smile. Have fun. Never feel confined. Never feel you cannot be yourself and have fun with clothing. Take chances! If this time in life has taught us anything, it is that you only live once.
Take a chance and wear a pattern or jacket you normally would never wear and see how you feel that day. Let that piece wear you and I bet you won't regret it! 9/10 if you take a chance with clothing that is outside of your comfort zone, someone is going to stop you and tell you how amazing it is, and that feeling will last a lifetime!
Just do it! Who cares what others think! Be yourself!!

Who is your style icon and why?

I have a couple different style icons. The first would have to be Kate Spade. I think it is clear why! The fun expression and play with colors make the brand (and the late fashion artist) irresistible to me!
I am also a huge fan of Sarah Jessica Parker, as most women are! Her fun with patterns and colors makes me smile every day!
I am also a huge fan of Pucci!

Is there something else you would like to share with us?

Fashion and clothing are a choice. It's the same choice as what color car you choose, or what brand of eggs you buy, organic or non-organic.
My father always told me “never have any regrets”. I live by that piece of advice.
Don’t be the person that says “I wish I could wear that”. Be the person who says “I will wear that!” and then send me a picture of it!!!

I have never met Jeni, but she seems like a very likable person to me. I would like to thank her for taking the time to answer my questions.

Tea Tree Oil For Hair Care: Do You Really Need It? This Will Help You Decide!

Hi There..... How often do you wash your hair? Do you use hair care products against dandruff or dry hair? Did you know that dandruff has nothing to do with bad hair care? Have you ever heard of Tea Tree Oil for hair care?

Would you like me to stop asking so many questions? Ah, I can't help it, I just love to tease. Surely you must have noticed by now, and if you are still here reading my blog posts, I just assume you don't mind. Most blogs are about solutions to problems, but I made mine just to have some fun with my readers. 😁

Ok, enough foolishness for today and let's solve these hair care problems. Do you really need tea tree oil for hair care, and why? 😮

I always had problems with dandruff and dry, frizzy hair for as long as I can remember. It was so embarrassing, and when I was young, there weren't any hair care solutions that my mum was aware of. The only option for me was to rub off those flakes as soon as I noticed them. 😳

Kids can be hard on each other, so you wouldn't want others to notice anything out of the ordinary. I already got teased more than enough because I was a striker and had to wear glasses for my lazy eye in elementary school. 😞

I have kept it more or less under control in recent years, except for the occasional itch. Although, I am always searching for more natural hair care products. 😊

Can you imagine how excited I was when I got contacted by Australian Bodycare to try out their Tea Tree Oil for hair?

       Serum

  1. The first one I tried, as you could have guessed, was the Australian Bodycare Scalp Serum. What does their website say about this product?

It is extremely effective against dandruff and relieves annoying itching immediately, as it moisturizes and soothes the scalp. The scalp serum also helps against scalp spots and pimples and can be used as supportive care for people with scalp problems.

For full benefits, you should apply the Scalp Treatment Mask to a dry scalp and massage into the roots of the hair and scalp, paying particular attention to areas of irritation. Leave on the scalp for at least 30 minutes, if possible overnight. Wash thoroughly with Australian Bodycare hair clean shampoo. Can be used on beards and mustaches, to help prevent irritation and itching. Repeat 2-3 times a week or as needed.

The Scalp Serum contains natural Australian Tea Tree Oil of pharmaceutical grade and is 100% vegan.

This scalp treatment is for both men and women. It‘s made from natural, active ingredients approved by our cosmetic science team.

The unique 3-step process against scalp problems from Australian Bodycare:
1: Use Scalp Serum from Australian Bodycare 2-3 times a week. - Recommended use: 2-3 times a week depending on your scalp condition.
2: Wash your hair with hair clean shampoo from Australian Bodycare - Recommended use: For best results use hair clean daily on an ongoing basis.
3: Use hair care from Australian Bodycare as your daily conditioner  - Recommended use: For best results use hair care daily on an ongoing basis.

    Extra info:
Effective scalp treatment with natural Australian Tea Tree Oil (Melaleuca alternifolia). The scalp treatment provides moisture and is calming and soothing. The Tea Tree Oil content, together with lactic acid esters, prevents bacteria on the scalp that cause itching, irritation, and dandruff.

Macadamia nut oil moisturizes the scalp and the extract of Tasmanian pepper has a soothing effect and prevents irritation.

They made a video about this unique 3-step process against scalp problems https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2XzysHCG7sI&t=5s

So you might want to know what I think about this product. I know it is subjective, but I didn't like the scent of this product. It didn't linger though, after a minute or two I didn't even notice it anymore. For all I know, you may love the scent of this product. It somehow reminds me of the smell of wet wood in a Sauna. It was also easy to apply with the funnel cap, and it had a nice cooling effect on my skin. 😊

    Shampoo

  2. After my scalp serum treatment, I washed my hair with the Tea Tree Oil shampoo. What does their website say about this product?

It‘s made from natural, active ingredients approved by their cosmetic science team.

It is for an itchy, dry, and flaky scalp. It is extremely effective against dandruff, and relieves annoying itching immediately, as it moisturizes and soothes the scalp. The shampoo also helps against scalp spots and pimples, and you can use it as daily care if you have scalp problems.

The Hair Clean Shampoo contains natural Australian Tea Tree Oil of pharmaceutical grade and is 100% vegan. This Shampoo is for both men and women.

Effective Tea Tree Oil shampoo that cleanses styling products and other impurities from the hair without stripping moisture. Contains antibacterial Australian Tea Tree Oil (Melaleuca alternifolia), which cleanses the scalp and inhibits the growth of unwanted bacteria that contribute to scalp problems.

Nourishing oils leave your hair feeling soft and well cared for. Glycerin adds moisture and helps the hair maintain a proper balance. Hair cleaning strengthens your hair and leaves it feeling healthy. Nourishes and moisturizes both hair and scalp.

This shampoo was more than ok for me. It was almost odorless, so no funny smell on this one, and it foamed nicely. The only disadvantage was that the bottle didn't open easily, but it wasn't an enormous problem. Other than that, it worked just perfectly. 😄

    Conditioner

  3. Last but not least there was the Tea Tree Oil conditioner. What does their website say about this product?

It‘s made from natural, active ingredients approved by our cosmetic science team.

It is for very dry and damaged hair. It’s a nourishing conditioner that makes your hair smooth and soft and easy to comb. It can be used as supportive care for dandruff as well. The Hair Care Conditioner contains natural Australian Tea Tree Oil of pharmaceutical grade and is 100% vegan. This Conditioner is for both men and women.

Use daily as required. To get the best results, they recommend that you use Hair Care after shampooing with their Hair Clean shampoo. After applying the conditioner, wait for 2-3 minutes before you wash it out. Conditioner for curly, colored, grey, and afro hair. Suitable for all hair types.

If you have dry and curly hair, you might know why I have to use a conditioner. After using shampoo, I can always feel that my hair is all messed up and doesn't feel right. 😏

My hair can get really frizzy sometimes, and it just does what it wants. Not that the rest of my body listens, but my hair is the worst. 😁

My mom always said to me, you have farmers carts horses dogs hair just like your father's mother. Haha, she never meant to belittle me, but it was just a fact. That's why a conditioner is crucial to me so that I have at least some control over my hair. 😎

The conditioner from Tea Tree Oil had a slight smell to it too, but not too disturbing. I was happy with the result. My hair felt nice and soft, and it also had a nice shine. 😍

Can you see in the picture that my hair has its own mind even with the use of conditioner? I am going to tolerate it for now, but I won't be tolerant forever. Since my hair was getting longer because of the Corona crisis, I decided to let it grow, and then people will be envious of my natural curls. 😉

Overall, I was thrilled with my new products, and they are completely natural, which I think is a great plus. 😍

Hope you like my blog.....Until next time.....Have a nice day

My Top 5 Youtube Channels to Make Your Own Handmade Jewelry

Hi There..... Do you watch a lot of Youtube channels? What would you say if I would share my Top 5 to make your own handmade jewelry?

Yes? Cool, I would love to show you. 😍

Youtube channels helped me start making handmade jewelry in 2007. I already had a lot of health issues back then and needed to find myself something I could do from my lazy couch. My recent knee surgery hindered me to go to the music academy for more singing and piano lessons. 😞

It was not an option to attend workshops, because of my mobility problems. I started searching the internet to teach myself how to make jewelry. I soon found out that Youtube was a significant source. 😮

After a bit of studying, I went to the store to get the supplies I needed. I got myself a pair of flat-nose pliers, metal wire, a bead-board, scissors, some lobster clasps, split rings, crimp beads, and some lovely beads to work with. And this is how my first handmade jewelry came to life. 😎

They were quite simple, but at the time I thought they looked wonderful. I admit I was a little (just a teeny-weeny bit) subjective. Before I realized it, I had made heaps of them and started giving those beauties away. 😀

I know, not the best way to start a business, but it was so much fun making them and making other people happy. The problem was I finished the jewelry pieces in no time and always needed more and more supplies. 😳

By going through some more Youtube channels, I found out about beadwork jewelry and fell in love. It took me a while to find some interesting channels. I want to spare you the trouble and show you my favorites. If you ever had any doubt, I have a good heart. 😏

They are not in a specific order, because I like them all equally.

I hope you enjoyed it, even if you are not a beader. Let me know if you would like me to share my favorite make-up channels too? 😊

If you are only beginning with beadwork, read this post with a tutorial to make a bracelet in 2 drop peyote

Interview with Jewelry Designer Áine Breen

Hi There..... Can I ask you a stupid question?

Yes? Great, here it goes. Do you like jewelry? Or maybe you even like jewelry making? Do you like jewelry with ancient symbols?

Duh, of course, everybody loves some kind of jewelry. There are so many styles, so I can’t imagine that you wouldn’t find anything to love. 😊

I have been busy with other things lately, but one of my many hobbies is jewelry making. Some of you may have read that in one of my previous posts. I am totally addicted to working with the smallest beads available. I have no problem admitting that I am a real seedbeadaholic. There is no cure, but no worries, it is not lethal. 😂

You really don’t want to know how many pieces of bracelets and necklaces I have in my hobby closet. If you do, I am sorry, but I will not start counting them. Some of you may have loads of shoes, I have loads of jewelry. I have something to match any outfit of mine, but there is just one problem, and that is my mind. It is like a sieve, but one with gigantic holes in it. It reminds me of some things, but totally forgets others. 😏

I will show you a few pieces of what I made at the end of this post, but first, let me talk to you about somebody who also loves jewelry making. The star on my blog for today is the 37-year-old Áine Breen, Founder, and Designer of Liwu Jewellery with Meaning. 😄

What kind of work do you do?

I am the designer and founder behind Liwu Jewellery with meaning.
Liwu means gift, and every gift carries a message and meaning. Designed to speak directly to the heart, each Liwu pieces feature ancient symbols, forged in pure recycled gold or silver. Meaningful fine jewelry, sustainably handmade in Ireland https://liwujewellery.com/

Is fashion important to you? Why?

I love fashion. It’s important as it lets every individual express themselves and feel good.

Is the name of the Brand important to you when you buy clothing?

No, not at all. The fabric has to feel good, and in recent years, I got very conscious about buying sustainable and even better, recycled fabric.
I love smaller and niche brands such as Emily Lovelock and Coster Copenhagen.

Describe your personal style of clothing?

I would describe it these days as laid-back luxe for everyday, and usually more whimsical for occasions. I do like to mix it up if going out socializing.

How did you find your personal style? Do you have a signature look?

My personal style has grown from more girlie and whimsical in my 20s to the more practical laid-back luxe today. As a busy working mum of three, easy comfortable clothes that look good are a must.

What are in your eyes the best trends at the moment?

I love how the pandemic has made it acceptable to wear joggers, yoga-style leggings, and trainers as everyday wear. Brands are launching smarter but still comfortable joggers with patterns!

What are in your eyes the worst trends at the moment?

I am nervous about the return of straight-leg jeans! I prefer my skinnies.

What kind of fashion advice would you give us?

Always seek good quality fabric. It always lasts longer and more important looks fabulous.

Who is your style icon and why?

I love following @fashion_jackson. She does laid-back luxe so well.
More style icons I love are Olivia Palermo and Blake Lively.

Is there something else you would like to share with us?

I wanted to be a fashion designer ever since I was a young girl!

Her aim is to bring the power and beauty of symbols to life through elegant gold and silver jewelry, which can be worn by anyone, anywhere.

I just love how delicate those jewelry pieces are and they look very elegant if you ask me. You can even take a quiz on her site to find out what fits you best. 😍

So glad that I also found my first jewelry designer to interview on my blog. After showing all those amazing pieces, I am a bit anxious to show you some of my designs, but a promise is a promise. I could just have deleted that sentence, of course, but what would life be without a few challenges now and then. 😉

Completely different, I know. I occasionally take part in markets, in the hope to sell a few and buy some materials to make some more. Haha, I know it's pointless, but it's fun. 😎
