Introducing you to - KOSHA6

Hi There.....Do you like to accessorize  ?

Yes? Great.....so let me introduce you this week to KOSHA6 ðŸ˜ƒ

The idea for the shop had been developing in the owners mind from 2016. Based upon experiences of a journey from Fashion to Yoga and evolved to combine those two. August 2018 KOSHA6 was officially born. It is a shop with craftsman yogic healing tools designed and wrapped in bohemian spirit, with the responsibility to always cause the least possible environmental harm.

That is a responsibility that keeps us all busy the latest years, and I really do think that is very important 😟

KOSHA6 aims to reclaim a new way of life, one that is rooted in yoga, culture, craft, community, green earth and handmade. It stands at a crossing of local, global, traditional, innovative, reinventing and contemparary. The shopowner believes in taking inspiration from our rich old culture and moving forward, and that Fashion has the power to change lives.

This jewelry has shifted Fashion to touching the soul instead of just the body and therefore is called  jewelry for body, mind and soul. They can be with yogic healing tools or with purposeful talismen designed with a bohemian look. The proces of creation is as precious to the shopowner as the production of a beautiful product.

Products made this way do so much more than just bring pleasure to the customer. They create a link between the user and the artisan, they keep help the traditional approuch to crafts alive and in continues evolution, and create an opportunity for the whole community and their welfare.

Here are some items I selected from this lovely shop 😊

We have a winner for the Valentine blog

Hi There.......Are the temperatures below zero over where you are too?

It is freezing here at the moment......but I am actually glad that we don't have snow......I saw the images yesterday on the news from Great Britain where they were having to deal with lots of snow and cars being stuck on the road. People even having to sleep in their cars because of it.

But to the point.....the winner of the Valentine's action on my blog has been chosen. I made a list of all those who entered the win-action, and numbered them. Then I looked at the last lotto numbers from our National Lotto and the number 11 came up first. And number 11 on my list was Marian B.

So congratulations Marian.....be sure to let me know what you would like to have from my Seadbeady shop. An item up to 25 € or a discount on a more expensive item in my shop.

For those who did not win......you can get a 20% discount with the code LOYAL01......this way everyone is a winner 😀

Hope you liked my blogpost......Until next time......Have a great day

Introducing to you - Seadbeady

Hi There..... Lately I have been introducing you to some lovely Etsy shops..... But then I was thinking that I actually haven't introduced my own Seadbeady shop to you 😲

I have told you earlier how I got to be a seedbeadaholic. It all started when I started getting a lot of physical health problems. Bad back for the most part, but also problems in lots of my joints with bad cartilage.

Up until 2008 music was a big part of my life. I was a singer in a choir for 4 years and lead singer in a band for 2 years. I was taking piano lessons and singing lessons in the meantime. But my problems forced me to find another pass time.

So that made me to the passionate beader I am today. Hardly any day goes by without me giving in to my seed bead addiction. It's not so much the bigger beads but the tiny seed beads I mostly work with.

In the beginning I worked with patterns off course. But as I developed more skills my mind started to go crazy. It woke me up in the middle of the night with new patterns that just appeared in my head. And the weird thing is I still remembered them next morning. I never put anything on paper but I just started working and 9 times out of 10 it came out the way I imagined it to be.

That's how it was in the beginning and still is at the moment except for the fact that I don't wake up from the many patterns in my brain anymore. I still regularly use patterns from others, because they inspire me to make my own.

So let me show you some of my very own creations

Introducing to you - Bungalow42 on Etsy

Hey you lovely readers.....Today I wanted to introduce you all to Connie from Bungalow42 on Etsy.

Her shop features very special jewelry pieces. She calls them "seriously whimsical adornments" and I can't find of a better way to describe these very special pieces of work. Like most Etsy sellers she started making them for family and friends. They have been her inspiration, guinea pigs and fan club and encouraged her to open an Etsy shop. 😊

Her "seriously whimsical adornments" pair silver findings, gemstones, seashells, pearls, vintage and handcrafted beads from around the world with delicate but sturdy plastic chain, silk thread or cord and waxed linen thread.  Weight and humor is a major focus in her work. She strives to create lightweight pieces that won't weigh you down but will hopefully make you smile.

This is her advice for those thinking about selling on Etsy.....Do the homework/research. Read the Etsy Success emails and other related documents. Join an Etsy Team.....They are the perfect opportunity to meet other similarly inclined folks to exchange ideas with.

So let me show you some of her lovely handmade pieces.

Jewel Tone Ridged Transparent Lampwork Bells

Kiwi Green Chartreuse and Orange Spiral Lampwork Pendant

Colorful Lightweight Aqua Tropical Bracelet with Coral Red Peruvian Fish

Wasabi, Dark Teal and Avocado Retro Mod Flower Dangle Earrings

Black Anklet with Colorful Pearls and Open Artisan Spiral

Dark Blue Pearl Bracelet with Golden Lampwork

Red Half Circles with Pearl Earrings

Bright Green Curly Leaf Bracelet

Indigo and Green Hexagon Necklace

Pale Yellow Anklet with Pearls and Tangerine Drops

Real lovely handwork.....don't you agree??  The flower dangle earrings are my favourite and which one is yours ??

Hope you liked my blogpost for today.........Until next time.........Have a great day 😸

Confessions of a Seadbeadaholic part 4

And it's story time again today.

The wire necklaces I made were ok. But that's definately not the end of my bead quest.
I was thinking what if I made my own beads with Fimo Polymer Clay. Then my necklace would be even more special.

So I started experimenting after a quick glance on the internet. Couldn't be that hard I thought. Haha wrong off course. I rolled my beads - nothing wrong at that time. But then they needed to bake in the oven. Ok no problem, I took some tooth picks and pushed them in the clay. But none of the clay beads kept their shape when being pushed on the tooth pick. But I managed to get them shaped again more or less. And in the oven they went.

Great my first badge was ready. After they had cooled down I put on the varnish and waited for a day to let them dry. Finally the next day it was time to get them of the sticks. What did you think happened? The sticks where stuck - couldn't get the beads off. There they went, all in the trash can. 😢

So I decided to buy this book on Bol.com - they even still sell it :)

https://www.bol.com/nl/p/making-jewelry-from-polymer-clay/1001004010363347/

After a bit of training I succeeded into making some reasonably nice beads. Like the ones in this necklace I still have 😊

But I must say making those beads is pretty labour intensive. First softening the clay and making shapes or mixes with them. Then rolling out the beads. And the step that I didn't know about before was putting them in the fridge for about 15 minutes to harden the clay again. And I used special bead baking pins to put the beads on. So then they went in the oven for 35 minutes.

After they had cooled down I put on a first coating with varnish. Then I had to wait until next day to put on the second coating. And finally the third day I could take them of the pins and start to use them in my jewelry.

Some people liked and others did not. And I did sell a few on markets. Yes indeed always enough to cover my costs and buy a few new materials. But I wasn't getting rich - no way. My business was still bringing in just enough to buy me some more beading stuff. And I was still happy with that.

The end for now - gonna tell you more about my bead addiction later

Hope you had fun reading.......Until tomorrow......Have a great day
