Where To Find a Clear Handbag - Margo Paige - Sustainable Fashion

Hi There..... Are you into sustainable fashion? Have you ever seen or bought a clear handbag?

I am not saying we should all buy vintage. There are new sustainable fashion items you can buy. 😊

I thought it wouldn’t be bad for bloggers to set a good example, so a story around this clear handbag could be a great idea. 😎

Ok, I have another question for you. Don’t you just hate it when you spill something on your new handbag, and it’s damaged without repair? No matter how hard you try, the spot won’t come off. 😬

Oh yes, I’ve had this happen to me, and my clothes have had their fair share too. No need to worry, though, because spilling is what I do best. 😂

Ok, maybe not the best, but I’m pretty good at it. Especially when we are eating out. If I dare to order something with a sauce, I can guarantee there will be stains after. 😋

I’m not one to brag, but this is something I am better at than most. Hey, I am not suggesting there is no one better at it. Let me know if you are, I am desperate to know. 😏

High time to tell you some more about the clear handbag I received from Margo Paige in exchange for my honest opinion. 😍

About Margo Paige

I founded Margo Paige as a response to the moral dilemmas I encountered in my life. Although I've always had a passion for handbags and fashion, the industry itself clashed with my personal values. I observed a prevalence of people and brands indulging in excessive consumption of bags, clothing, and more.

In addition to the industry's wasteful practices, I couldn't ignore the frequent news stories highlighting poor labor conditions and environmental pollution within the fashion world. After delving into this issue, I uncovered some concerning facts:

- Research indicates that consumers bought 60% more clothing in 2014 compared to 2000.
- An astonishing 85% of textiles produced by the fashion industry end up in landfills every year.
- The fashion industry contributes nearly 10% of the world's annual greenhouse gas emissions and ranks as the second-largest water consumer among industries.

Terms like waste, excess, and negative environmental impact have become synonymous with the fashion industry, especially fast fashion.

As I witnessed other industries I cared about, such as food and events, taking steps to improve their practices, I felt inspired. Organics and Fair Trade products were becoming standard on supermarket shelves, while football games and concerts were adopting zero-waste policies and providing attendees with reusable options to reduce waste. This progress was encouraging.

However, the fashion industry, while showing some efforts from industry leaders, wasn't making the necessary strides to address the pressing social and environmental challenges of our time. I realized that I could contribute to the solution by establishing a handbag brand rooted in sustainability. For me, this meant creating versatile pieces that matched my lifestyle.

Our designs, like the transparent handbag that facilitates event access and seamlessly transitions to brunch or nightlife, were crafted with multifunctionality in mind. These pieces not only catered to various lifestyle needs but also embodied a commitment to minimizing waste, sustainable fashion, and timeless design.

Though the realms of sustainability and event bag guidelines are intricate, our mission is straightforward. Margo Paige produces sustainable, multifunctional, and stylish products that enable your lifestyle to align with your values.

My opinion on the clear handbag

As some of you know, I love to give you a head up about sustainable fashion, so this is a big plus if you ask me. 😍

Most of you know I am more the fall-type kind of chicken, but I wanted to point out to the spring chicks reading here that you might need this type of handbag to get into some festivals this summer. 😉

Another big plus, as I mentioned at the beginning of this blog post, is that you can spill heaps of food on it without having to throw it in the waste bin. 😃

However, there are some negatives about this clear handbag too. It is anything but safe from pickpockets, so you'd have to be very aware of this when you use it. 😞

The other problem is that you can't adjust the length of the large strap, but you can solve this by using the gold chain as a shoulder strap. 😊

Still, I think it looks pretty cool, and the size is good for festivals, events, or concerts. As you can see, it easily fits a small wallet, a cell phone, a pair of glasses, and some other minor items. 😍

Hope you like my blog.....Until next time.....Have a nice day

Interview With Fashion Designer Kara Mac

Hi There..... Are you interested in sustainable fashion? Would a footwear fashion designer interview be interesting to you?

Picture provided by Kara Mac

Come on, there is no point in denying it. Every woman loves footwear. There are lots of women with a compulsive buying disorder (CBD), and for some, it’s all about the shoes. They would love this new fashion designer interview, and I am not inventing this. The addiction is real, just as I am a seedbeadaholic. 😏

They may not list my addiction in books, but it’s just as genuine as a three-dollar bill. You know what that means, of course, bogus. I swear, though, that CBD is an actual addiction. 😳

No need to worry, however, if people want to sell products with CBD in them, there is no reason to fear you might get addicted to shopping. 😁

The compound found in cannabis used in those products doesn’t get you addicted either. Oh my, so boring, I need a glass of whiskey and a cigar. 😫

Are you crazy? Eek, I dislike the taste of anything that contains alcohol, and I never touched a cigar or a cigarette in my life. Hmm, that last one could be a lie. I’m not sure if having a barbeque is smoking? Ok, boring, but that’s just me. 😜

Time to change the subject to more interesting matters. Let’s see how the fashion designer, starring on my blog today, answered my questions. 😍

What are your name, function, and the company you work for?

Kara Mac, Creator, and CEO of Kara Mac Shoes

How old are you?

57

What kind of work do you do, or what are you studying to be?

I created the world's first, instantly swappable ladies’ shoe from heel to toe. One pair can become multiple looks with our interchangeable heel covers, sandal straps, and toe clips we call Candy. We are disrupting the footwear industry one shoe at a time.

What made you decide to become a Fashion Designer?

I was a child artist and preferred doodling all over my notebooks instead of getting good grades in the basics. My mom taught me to sew starting at age 7 and when I was 12 years old, I told my mother I was going to go to the Fashion Institute of Technology to be a fashion designer. It was the only school I applied to, and I was very lucky to be accepted.

Is fashion important to you? Why?

Very much so. Fashion has always given me the ability to be myself. I’ve gone through many phases throughout my years, from preppy to punk to classic, bohemian, and back to classic. I dress according to the weather, my mood, and where my day is taking me. My fashion is not necessarily about being noticed, it’s about airing confidence and a tiny form of power.

Picture provided by Kara Mac

What are your successes, and how did you achieve them?

I am super proud to have earned a double utility patent from the USPTO for my heel change invention. It took five years, an incredible amount of money to the attorney, and a trip to DC to meet with the Examiner. I knew what I had engineered had not been done before, but getting that point across and validated by the USPTO was incredible.

What’s something you might want to do in the future?

I want to learn to drive an 18-wheeler truck. I actually hate driving long distances, and would not use the license, but I’d love the challenge to try it.

Is the name of the Brand important to you when you buy clothing or jewelry?

In my younger self, the brand name was important as I wanted to be associated with the coolness and/or price tag. Now, I only buy specific brands for quality and/or sustainability purposes.

Describe your personal style of fashion?

It always depends on the occasion. I am a Rent the Runway Member and rent my clothes for most events, weddings, and business meetings. It allows me to continue my pledge of sustainability and wear the coolest outfits once and then return.

I am 6’ tall and not overweight, so many styles look good on me, but I stay away from anything above my knees and anything unconstructed in the waistline. I love to layer and mix and match.

How did you find your personal style? Do you have a signature look?

Denim skinny jeans, a white tee shirt, a cool sweatshirt or jacket (love my Camo Jacket), and a scarf around my neck. I always wear a pair of my Kara Mac Shoes boots or sandals. On a bad hair day, I’ll grab one of my woven narrow-brim hats and throw a colorful scarf around it or wear one of my many baseball caps.

Do you have an influence on other people’s fashion style?

I think I may have, based on likes and comments on my social media, but who knows? Ultimately, our goal at Kara Mac Shoes is to influence people towards sustainable fashion that is well-made and versatile.

What are in your eyes the best trends at the moment?

Wear-now is the oversized faux fur and shearling jackets and coats with a huge scarf, fingerless gloves, and a cashmere sweater, jeans, and ankle boots. I love comfy, flowy cotton day dresses in Spring and Summer with contrasting sweaters, jackets, or shawls. Thong sandals with coordinating straps and heel covers are always fun and a great way to show off your personality in a subtle way.

I am currently watching denim as it is coming back with so many styles. This trend is one that is driving my sustainable bootie line.

What are in your eyes the worst trends at the moment?

Anything fast-fashion and I can’t stand those dresses and shirts with the cut-outs at the waist and all over the back. I hope that disintegrates soon. Ultimately, while fast fashion is affordable, it is not good for the environment. You’re better off spending more on a quality piece that will last.

What kind of fashion advice would you give us?

Wear what makes you comfortable and confident. Fashion is about self-expression. When we are portraying who we are through fashion, it builds confidence. That’s why I love fashion right now – it’s so open and expressive. Just do you.

Who is your style icon and why?

Although I’ve worked in the fashion industry for over 20 years alongside some top designers, ultimately my style icon is ME. That’s why I dress the way I do. At all times, I must be comfortable and warm.

I despise bras and Spanx although I will wear them with formalwear. I often think of people like the late Vivienne Westwood and Betsy Johnson, who are the epitome of personal style and self-expression that is authentic to who they are. Still, I can also say that is true for most designers and that’s what makes them successful.

Thanks, Kara, for answering my questions. I think your heels are a magnificent invention. I've seen nothing like it. They could change a pair of boots from daywear into party wear.

Where To Find Handmade Sustainable Fashion Items

Hi There..... Are you looking for Handmade Sustainable Fashion Items?

Does it also make you happy to find that there are more and more shops that make sustainable fashion items? There would be a time that people didn’t care much about the how and why. Well, at least that is how I remember it from my past. People weren’t that much aware that things like Sustainable fashion mattered. But have I got a secret for you. It does. 😀

Today we have to take into account not only how we style ourselves but also what shops select to make their clothes off.

The problem for me is that before I can do that, I will first have to find my perfect fashion style. I dropped a lot of weight these past few years and that makes me lost again. Can you see the giant pile of fat behind me trying to keep up? 😂

No, seriously, my head still hasn’t adapted to my new body. Sometimes I still see myself as that chubby woman I was for so many years. 😉

Would you like to know more about my weight loss journey? Maybe you should read the blog I made on that a few weeks ago. https://seadbeady.blogspot.com/2020/07/how-my-gastric-bypass-turned-my-life.html

Although I have to say, there is one disadvantage of getting skinnier at a certain age. When your face gets less round, the wrinkles get more visible too. I hate that part, even though people say I look younger now. I shouldn’t be unhappy though because people still estimate me about 5 to 10 years younger. 😍

It has to be something I inherited from my dad. I still remember my mom always wanting my dad to grow a beard. Without his beard, he would look so much younger. My mom said that one time when they were having a walk. People would mistake my dad for my mom’s son. Impossible because I had no brothers. Ok, at least not that I am aware of. 😂

So here I am, still looking for that perfect dress for me. The most important question is what kind of dress fits my new body type best.

Wikipedia’s classification talks about 5 different body sizes.

V-shapes have smaller buttocks, bigger chest, and wider shoulders. This is a more male shape and doesn’t fit me one bit.

Hourglass shapes are significantly narrower in the waist than in the chest region. Nope, that is not the one I resemble either.

The Apple shapes have a wider stomach region than their hip section. Also, more of a masculine figure, so I pass on this one too.

Then there is the Pear, Spoon, or Bell figure with a wider hip section than the upper body. This may be a more feminine shape, but it is not mine either.

Last but not least, the Rectangle, Straight or Banana shape with relatively similar hip, waist, and shoulder sections. I almost thought there was nothing in it for me, but this is the one. 😍

Ok, I have bored you enough with chitchatting about myself. Time to tell you something about this Etsy shop I came across a few days ago. I was so impressed by their clothes I asked them if I could write a blog post for them. 😄

They believe that all women have an Inner Muse, and that’s why their shop name is LeMuse. It’s a family business that was born years ago. They are proud to be a part of sustainable fashion and are glad to be using natural fabric in their creations. Their passion is all about making natural, comfortable, and minimalist clothing. They want to make women feel wonderful, radiating, and elegant without harming our precious environment.

Let me show you some pretty things they have in their store 😊

Women Winter Dress, Black Sweater Dress

Women Red Top, Long Sleeve Top

Wool Sweater, Loose Sweater

Deep Blue Dress, Sailor Dress

Women Cardigan, Teal Cardigan

Those are my picks for today..... So tell me what you think about them..... Do you love them as much as I do? 😍

Hope you like my blog post.....Until next time.....Have a great day
