This week’s trip down memory lane is about my time in high school, about 40 years ago. It was a time when wearing a uniform was not at all out of the ordinary. 😇

Our uniform consisted of a light blue blouse, a navy blue pleated skirt, and long white socks that came just below the knee, and navy blue shoes. The school was pretty strict. They wouldn’t let us walk around with rolled-up sleeves or sagged socks. The teachers would do regular checks to make sure we followed the rules. 😏

I recall a springtime when it was so hot. One girl had gotten the idea to roll up her socks. The teachers didn’t notice, so by noon almost half of us had followed her example. 😁

I guess it caught the eye of our headmistress, though. She scared the wits out of us when she came running out of her office. Her face was all red in anger, telling us all to pull up our socks right away. Can you guess what happened? 😬

Not much. We were all very much afraid of her, so we pulled up our socks in no time. 😨

What is combed cotton?

Combed cotton, literally is combed, leaving long, straight cotton fibers only by removing short fibers and impurities to make the fabric stronger and softer. It is a very soft version of cotton, making combed cotton very suitable for sensitive skin. 

It also pills less than regular cotton and is also more durable. It dries easily, is more absorbent, and is anti-odor.

What did I think?

These 2 pairs of socks were in my gift box. Don't you just love them? I don't see why men's socks can't be fun. They are made at calf's length from combed cotton. You could feel that especially the inside is a lot softer than regular socks. 😍

On top of that you get a famous Tony's Chocolonely bar, what more could you want. I can't promise I am not going to steal them from my hubby. 😂

I love to travel, but I am not at all a globetrotter. It’s not like I travel often and to different parts of the world. Why not? I don’t know, but I guess the world is way too big a place for me. Distant travels are just not my cup of tea. 😏

Uh, no, of course it’s not, there is nothing fun about it. My favorite moment is the landing. I have often wondered why everyone always applauds when the pilot lands the plane. It has to be because I am not the only one in a sweat. 😁

At least I try to overcome my fears. “Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. The fearful, are caught as often as the bold”. That’s a quote by Helen Keller. Aha, so who is the brave one now? I am, obviously. 😜

 What did I think?

They took me on a tour of Budapest through the ages. It was so much fun. It felt as if they were taking me on a walk, and all while I was in my lazy chair, giving my body some well-deserved rest. 

At first, you get to meet your guide and get a brief introduction, from there on you can choose where you want to go first. By freely moving around my curser, I could check out the entire surroundings from the floor to the sky and 360 degrees around me. 

At every site you visit, there are information buttons you can click to get some details from the guide and some pictures. What I loved about this is that you get to see pictures of the present, but also of the past with corresponding dates. The guide gives you some history of the site, but you also learn about tales and legends. 

Fun extra is that you get to see some things in daylight as well as in darkness. During the tour, you can also find several short videos. Something else I really liked was the birds-eye view I got from time to time.

Conclusion?

All pictures and videos were of great quality. It's a professional guide who is a great storyteller, which makes it so much more interesting. 

There are a lot of advantages to this way of traveling.

This may sound incredible, but it's not so long ago they forbid it here in Belgium. Ah yes, our government is, as you might say, a tad overprotective. They may still think we will all get high from those CBD skincare products. 😏

It was on a Summer Camp in Arlberg near Tirol, if I recall the name correctly. I was 13 years old. There are still a lot of cool things I remember. One of them was an excursion we were all excited about. We had taken the bus in the morning to Vienna. I can’t say that I still know a lot from what happened in the daytime, it’s all a bit of a blur. Late in the afternoon, we returned to camp. We were all having fun on the bus, singing and laughing. Then the bus stopped. The driver stepped out to see if there was something he could do to fix the problem and get the show back on the road. Ah, you guessed it right, he couldn’t. 😞

It meant we had to walk the last part. Not a tremendous problem for 13-year-olds, you may think, but it was a steep road, leading to the mountaintop. Some of us were in excellent condition and got up the mountain in no time. Others were not that fast, but they made it up without too many problems. 😎

Then there was me, and a girl I had become friends with. We were the last ones up the mountain path. I could feel my heart pounding in my chest, as I was gasping for breath. Everyone was waiting for the last ones to arrive. 😯

They all stared at me. Some looked concerned, others horrified, as if they had seen nothing like it. My tongue and lips had turned all purple blue because of the lack of oxygen. Of course, I wasn’t high on drugs, just high up in the mountains. 😄

What's it for?

CBD Care Balm targets an array of skin issues like acne, eczema, rosacea, and dry or inflamed skin.

Research shows that when THC, an exogenic cannabinoid, is ingested, it will interact with the CB1 and CB2 receptors in our body. The THC will activate the receptors in the same way that an endocannabinoid will.

Unlike THC, CBD does not bind to receptors. This substance prevents the FAAH and does its job in that way. The FAAH enzyme plays a role in the breakdown of anandamide. Anandamide is a natural cannabinoid that plays a very important role in regulating pain and the transmission of our happiness hormones.

This way, the body's own endocannabinoid system works together with the exogenic cannabinoid. The ECS is increasingly being investigated. We can conclude so far that the endocannabinoid system is indispensable for our health.

How to use it?

Apply a thin layer of CBD balm on the skin and leave it on. You can do this 1 to 3 times a day and continue until you see improvement. A thin layer of our balm is sufficient.

Yeah totally! Hemp cultivation is 100% organic without the addition of, for example, pesticides or other growth aids. Naturally, our products are tested before we market them.

What did I think?

Some of you may have read somewhere in my blog posts that I have a skin condition called Rosacea. I had problems with it for years, assuming there was nothing to do about it. It's not just the redness, pimples, or swelling that was annoying, but the itching was the worst. 😖

Since it was getting worse a few years ago, I decided to see a dermatologist. She prescribed me a special ointment which managed to keep it more or less under control. 😊

About a week ago, I stopped using the ointment so that I could fully test this CBD skincare product. After a few days I noticed the redness was coming back, and the annoying itchy feeling too. 😬

Tips on Where to Find Handmade Jewelry - No More Boring Jewellery - Polymer Clay Jewelry

Hi There..... Are you a fan of handmade jewelry? Have you ever worn polymer clay jewelry?

I have made polymer clay jewelry too, and I can make the most magnificent pieces with clay. Haha, got you fooled there now, didn't I? 😁

The devil in me is always present, lurking in the dark. Ah yes, talking about the dark. Yesterday the power went out. I was watching The Voice, one of my favorite shows. How could they do this to me? 😭

It was about 10 in the evening, so it was pretty dark already. My cell phone is always right next to me, so I put on the flashlight app. We went to the front door, and it seemed the entire block was in the dark, not just us. 😨

There were people all over the street talking to each other about what could have happened. I ran out into the street to hurry to pick in on their conversation. Nah, of course not. That’s not me. 😂

I don't know what happened, but so glad all the lights came back on at about half-past 11. It took the internet providers about an hour longer to get everything back into the rails, so we watched a DVD of Mission Impossible. Sorry to say, Tom Cruise is not my favorite actor at all. 😬

Are you kidding, he is one of the all-time greatest actors if you ask me? It was almost 1 in the morning as we were only halfway, so I went to bed. To sleep, of course. 😏

All this has entirely nothing to do with my blog post today. Except that it’s also about something I really love. Jewelry, but not just any. It’s about handmade jewelry from No More Boring Jewellery. 😍

About the artist and her relationship to Art?

Sofia, the 25-year-old maker behind this shop, was raised in Crete, a Greek island. Living with her grandparents, she learned a lot from her grandmother's creativity. She was always busy with things like knitting, painting, and jewelry making. That's where Sofia got her inspiration from.

Her eye for detail is something she inherited from her father. As a young girl she absolutely loved to do realistic portrait drawing, and friends and family would give her lots of commission to draw their pictures. 

Once she started university and later on work, she didn't have the energy to do anything remotely creative. This all changed because of a call from her grandmother who said 'You should always be drawing'. She kept repeating this several times during the call, and it kinda stuck to her.

Sofia kept contemplating, and it took her a couple of weeks to give in again to her creativity.

Why jewelry?

Being stressed with time, she wondered if there wasn't a better way to express her creativity. A portrait drawing on general took her about 7 hours to finish. She felt there surely had to be a way to save time and also reach more women. 

Simple maths brought her to jewelry making. Polymer clay jewelry is something people can wear every day. Her goal is to offer small art pieces, not just simple pieces of jewelry. 

That's how the name No More Boring Jewelry came to be. She designs every piece after hours of prototyping so that it gives a unique vibe and allows the customers to express their creativity.

Plans for the future?

Her goal is to keep creating unique and limited pieces. This is how a new idea came to life. She plans to launch monthly themed boxes with a few handmade jewelry pieces. Every month, there will be a completely new offering on her website. 

The boxes will contain leaflets explaining the inspiration for the pieces, the original hand-drawn design and some facts about the particular theme. There will be custom-made boxes based on the theme. The different sizes of boxes will range from £15 - £70 pounds.

What did I think?

Her designs are so intricate and detailed. I used to make polymer clay beads a very long time ago. She makes it all look so easy, but it's definitely not. 

Sofia chose these for me, and I wasn't expecting them to look that good on me, but they do. At least I think so. In the past, I have always shied away from larger earrings, thinking they would not be for me. That proves I too can be wrong. 

This is also one that Sofia chose for me. They may look heavy, but her pieces are so very delicate and thin, which makes them a lot lighter than you would expect. I would advise you to store them separately, though, because of their delicate nature. 

This was my favorite pair of earrings from her shop. I immediately fell in love with the raindrop shape of these lovely polymer clay earrings. Her pieces are not the most obvious color combinations, but they all work perfectly together.

I am so glad she also added this one to my package because it is stunning. I love the little extra heart on the side, which makes it so special and out of the ordinary.

Hi There..... Is taking selfies something you like to do? Would  you like to learn more about using a selfie ring light? Are you in the dark about what equipment you could use to enhance your selfies?

If you are an influencer, taking selfies is something you probably do more often. Let's hope you are not addicted to it. And yes, there is such a thing as being addicted to taking selfies. 😎

I read on nbcnews that the Nottingham Trent University study established the Selfitis Behavior Scale as an instrument for assessing Selfie addiction. Borderline: Taking at least 3 selfies a day without posting them on social media. Acute: Taking and posting (on social media) at least 3 selfies a day. Chronic: Unable to resist the urge to take selfies “around the clock” and post at least 6 of those photos per day. 😲

Go on, tell me, how many do you post? Perhaps you are exactly like I said, somewhat in the dark about what equipment to use. I wonder if that's a good or a bad thing? What if I tell you more about this selfie ring light? Will you hold me responsible for your addiction, afterward? 😁

I found a great quote by Svetlana Alexievich to help me solve this puzzle. Showing just the dark side doesn't always work. The important thing is to show what we can learn from dark things, what good we find there. 😊

As a kid, I was so afraid of the dark. Both my sisters knew that too well, and they made good use of it when playing hide and seek in the house. They often hid in the basement, because they knew I wouldn't come searching for them down there. 😢

Aha, for them, it was a good thing. Not that great for me, though. Although, from time to time I gathered all my courage and still went in that basement. This way I gradually overcame my fear. Ok, not completely, but still. 😄

The package contained the ring light with a power cord with a switch that ends in a USB plug, and it also contained a rotation head. The light diameter is 16 cm (6 inches). It has 3 adjustable color temperatures and 10 brightness options for each temperature mode.

How to use the light

The ring light is powered by USB, which is perfectly compatible with various devices like a PC, laptop, and power bank, allowing you to have a comfortable experience during use. 

The buttons on the power cord are used to easily turn the power on and off and switch to the lighting mode and brightness level you need.

What to use it for 

It will come in handy whenever you need extra light with multi-functions. It is light and compact, so you can take it anywhere you want. Connect it to a tripod to free your hands for study, live stream, makeup, taking photos, making videos, selfies.

What did I think about it?

I tried it out in one of the darkest rooms in our house. If you plug it in, the on/off switch lights up blue, which I found super handy. The different colors and brightness levels make it easy to get the right mood you want for your picture or film. To show you, I made a series of pictures.

The first one was without the light, and then gradually turning it to a brighter level.

Do you know how hard it is to hold your head in the same position and pull the same face each time. 😏

I wanted to show you the difference in how the light reflects on different angles of your face. There is already a considerable difference, with or without the light. I also placed my number one next to the 10 again, so that you can see that there is a significant difference between the first and the last picture.

Color Temperature

There are the 3 color temperatures you can play with. I am only showing them on the brightest levels, but for each color, you can also adjust the brightness 10 times. 

The left picture is the white light. In the middle, I switched to a warmer hue. Then the picture on the right is a cooler hue. If you can count, you know that there are 30 different levels on this ring light, so enough to play with. 😀

It may not have a light stand or a tripod, but why would you buy those if you already have them, and that makes this light very affordable. 😍

The next thing I need now is a Bluetooth selfie clicker so that I can take splendid pictures without having to bother someone else.  😄

Where to find Sexy Women Clothing - Livebetter - Women's Lingerie

Hi There ..... Do you like sexy women clothing? Does Women's Lingerie have to be feminine and chic for you, with possibly some lace?

Yes, right? Which woman doesn't want to look sexy or maybe a little provocative? That is certainly allowed and our partners love women's lingerie, or at least most of them. 😉

I remember the days before my wedding. It feels like ages ago because we will have been married for 35 years in a few weeks from now. My mom said that we still needed to go to the store, but I didn't know what store she had in mind. 😦

We were pretty close, so an opportunity to go shopping together was always fun. She took me to a lingerie shop. Oh, I thought, ok I suppose a lovely bra wouldn't look bad on my wedding night. But she didn't just let me buy a bra, but also a garter just for some extra decoration. Well yes for me, the decoration was not for the Christmas Tree. 😁

You can't blame a girl for wanting to look good on her wedding day, Can you? When the big day came, we had lots to do. First a small reception at our home. From there on we stepped into the white Rolls Royce limousine they had rented for us. I remember all the people we passed in the streets staring at us. 😄 

A bit later we arrived at the church for the actual wedding ceremony. I know, I told you I am not that much of a catholic, but my mother-in-law was very religious. It was her dream, so why wouldn't we let it come true. It was very romantic, so no regrets. 😊

After the church, we went to our mother-in-law's home for a reception. There were so many friends of ours that were invited that the reception was over before we knew it. 😯

Off we were again in our Rolls Royce Limousine to Iepenburg, a large domain with a playground and a park. We had planned to take some pictures over there in the park. Pity, it started raining halfway, but we managed to get a few stunning pictures. 😍

Then there was the wedding dinner and the party where we danced until 2 in the morning. We had such a wonderful time, and almost the entire evening had been filmed. That reminds me, we still need to have it transferred from a video to a blue ray or cd. 😊

Guess what happened with the sexy lingerie. Sorry to disappoint you, but we were so tired we didn't think about anything anymore, except sleep. The lingerie did its job, but just not on our Wedding night. 😴
