My Top 5 Youtube Channels to Create Stunning Makeup Looks

Hi There..... Do you love to create stunning makeup looks? Do you know how to create those amazing looks, or are you just winging it?

Maybe you are a natural at it and can just pull those makeup looks out of your magic hat, but not me. As a young girl I never learned how to use eyeshadow the proper way, I just used one color and that was it. Can't say it wasn't easy but today I just want more. 😃

It's a good thing my name isn't Oliver Twist, because when he asked for a second helping, it didn't end up well at all. I used to love that movie and especially the music in it. If you are a fan of sad movies and you love musicals, I can definitely recommend this movie. You could compare it to me, an oldie but a goodie. 😁

Just like these youtube channels I wanted to share with you today. No, no, they aren't oldies but goodies, if you ask me. They are great to help you create those magical makeup looks. Just like with the beading channels I shared, they are not in a specific order, because I like them all equally. 😍

If you are curious about my top 5 favorite beading channels, check out this blog post. 😊

I know it's a very short post, and that's not what you are used from me, but I bet you will have more than enough fun checking out those youtube channels. 😉

Hope you like my blog.....Until next time.....Have a nice day

Interview with Fashion Accessories Jewelry Designer Catherine Marché

Hi There..... Are you a fan of fashion accessories? Do you like to shop for jewelry, or are you more into jewelry making yourself?

I want the best of both worlds. Greedy, I know, but why would I refrain from buying extraordinary pieces just because I can make my own, right? Would you find it strange when a Hamburger factory owner would eat a Hot Dog? 😏

Shopping for fashion accessories or jewelry making wasn’t on my schedule for the past few days, because I was feeling somewhat drained. Not figuratively, but more literally. It was as if someone left the tap open. I wonder who could have done that? 😬

Duh, me of course. I am still not sure what caused it, but I had no control over my bowls. No fever though, only a tremendous loss in appetite. No matter how hard I tried to get something down, it all went straight down the drain. 😞

My energy is so very low at the moment, I could barely rub in my day cream this morning, but I will not let those age wrinkles take advantage of my weak moments. Oh no, most definitely not. 😈

As you can see, energy or not, I am back on my laptop trying to make you have a wonderful time reading my blog. 😀

You probably guessed that today is about fashion accessories, jewelry making to be more precise, and my interview with Catherine Marché. She is a jewelry designer and goldsmith for Catherinemarche designs. Her age qualifies her as wise, although she feels the same as in her 20s. 😉

What kind of work do you do or what are you studying to be?

I make fine jewelry with recycled gold sourced locally to help minimize our impact on the planet’s resources. I also believe that every style-conscious individual should be able to adorn themselves with precious little things they love, which help express their true personality and are a statement to their true elegance.

What made you decide to become a Designer?

I have always been tactile and enjoy using my hands to create. Having studied sciences, I am enjoying being able to use my maths to evaluate volumes, curves, calculate how much gold I will need for a project, estimate weights… It seems I have a nerdy side at heart that I cannot get rid of. Instead of drawing with paints or inks, I now have a palette of colorful gemstones and pearls at my disposal. How exciting!

Is fashion important to you? Why?

Absolutely. Fashion fuels me. I dislike routine and fashion is incessantly full of imagination and ever evolving. I love mixing new items with vintage finds or trying to make the clothes and accessories I dream of and cannot find.

For my wedding, I ended up making some of my jewelry, a tiara, and designing a brocade coat to go over my dress.
I think we can be like chameleons and that fashion and jewelry allow us to express the various sides of our personality.

What are your successes and how did you achieve them?

I have been lucky enough to have my jewelry featured in magazines like Vogue, l’Officiel, Brides… and won a few awards for my skills. I also had my illustrations on the walls of London underground (picture below), newspapers, mags, and bus stations.
Some of these stemmed up from a brief email I sent to introduce myself, others through lucky encounters.

Is the name of the Brand important to you when you buy clothing?

Not necessarily. I am more concerned by the care label as I eliminate systematically most synthetics regardless of the brands. I just prefer wearing natural fabrics and want to limit the number of non-bio-degradable items I have.

The clothes have to be cut properly and make me feel (and hopefully look) simply fabulous. I will have to try it on before buying as most brand items are made with shorter women in mind. Most trousers end up looking cropped and skirts like mini, which is not always what I am looking for. I have a few items from the men’s or the oversized Ladies' department as they can look amazing and have a great vibe!

Wearing an item I like just boosts my mood and preludes to a great day. That and a bit of lipstick (and also some chocolate).  Big labels do not necessarily mean better quality and some can be quite disappointing although I have been thrilled with some of the Italian ones recently. The cut and fabric are gorgeous!

Describe your personal style of clothing?

French chic meets vavavoom extravaganza ?
Depending on my mood and the occasion, I can dress anything from demure to bright oranges and reds with a hint of fuchsia. I function with impulses and instinct. I prefer to set my own trends rather than follow them. I will usually add a scarf (carré or Twilly Hermes) and have a nice collection of hats from berets to wide-brimmed capelines for both winter and summer.

In winter, I like to pair my trapeze skirts with knee-high boots. Love swing jackets and most colors have a place in my wardrobe.

During the lockdown, I enjoyed wearing some of my nice outfits which were usually reserved for bigger occasions. I realized I could dress up for myself and didn't need an audience. Lots of fun, sipping a cocktail with a silk dress the mother of Samantha (Bewitched) would be proud to have.

How did you find your personal style? Do you have a signature look?

I guess my personal style evolved through the years and is still developing. It has tamed down as I barely wear my colored wigs or my baroque outfits anymore. Pinterest can be a great resource to create style and mood boards.

I have a few: fabulista for couture gowns, being stylish for daily wear, baroque for extravagance... Being tall, I do not wear heels daily and like little colorful ballerinas, paired with a matching bag or scarf. My wardrobe is quite eclectic covering eras from the 20s to contemporary with a flavor for the 60s and 70s. Some friends say I love my little dresses, and they are probably right. I also do wear lots of berets of fluffy furry hats too.

In winter, I love tweeds and Cashmere and wrap myself in long palazzo pants, thick scarves, and warm coats. As soon as the days get longer and the temperature rises, I have a need for more colors and prints. I enjoy adding a touch of lipstick, preferably red, and a simple eyeliner as it brightens up my face right away. And bien sur, I shall never go out without Perfume.

Do you have an influence on other people’s clothing style?

It has happened indeed. They have solicited me to come and give styling advice during shopping trips. It is nice to help a friend find clothes which reflect themselves and their taste.

What are in your eyes the best trends at the moment?

I think the big floral prints and linen shirts this season are ideal to brighten up a pandemic summer and make you feel free and elegant. I have also seen some lovely mules in padded leather and gorgeous straw bags. All we need now is the ability to travel to the beach and fill our bags with sun lotion, sunglasses, beach towels, and fashion magazines. (and a mask)

What are in your eyes the worst trends at the moment?

Baggy. Anything baggy which makes you look out of shape and like you could not care less.

What kind of fashion advice would you give us?

Be yourself, have fun, follow your intuition. If you like what you are buying, you are likely to wear it with pleasure for many years. Do not follow fashion diktats if they do not move you with excitement. Be daring and enjoy combining old with new and being playful. Fashion is exciting!

Who is your style icon and why?

Jane Birkin for her simple deconstruction, Brigitte Bardot and Eva Mendes for their sexiness, Audrey Hepburn for her timeless chic in Givenchy, and Sophia Loren because she is extraordinary.

Is there something else you would like to share with us?

Conventions are made to be broken. Fashion is about you being yourself, expressing your essence. Your Style is a timeless beauty and so uniquely you. Have fun with yours.

Thank you for filling in my questions, Catherine, with so many fun details. 😍

You should visit her shop, it is filled with classy, elegant designs. 😊

Hope you like my blog.....Until next time.....Have a nice day

Review About JouwBox May 2021 - Natural Products Part 3

Hi There..... Are you ready for some more information on products to take care of yourself? Have you also become a fan of the natural products from JouwBox?

I certainly hope so. What would I do if nobody would be interested in my blog reviews? Stop writing? That would be amazing. I would have so much time on my hands. 😄

Uh, no, of course not, I love writing blog posts and reviewing products. Besides, how would you discover all those natural products and the many new ways to take care of yourself? Also, my blog made it to 13893 views last month. That’s another month's record, and this month is starting off great too because it’s only the 12th and at the moment I got almost 7000 eyes on my blog. 😍

Oh no, you caught me, that’s a lie of course, because most people have 2 eyes, so that would make 14.000 eyes give or take a few that blinked. That doesn't mean you have to stop reading, though. 😉

Still, I am just a small shrimp if you compare my blog to some others. Well, must be because I don’t like fish. 😏

I remember my mom used to make it regularly and I would have to eat it want it or not. She was convinced I would learn to like it one day, but I never did. I was also pretty scared to find a bone in it, which made me chew it until it was mashed. I would choose shrimps over fish mash any day. 😋

The natural products from the JouwBox I tried for this blog post are the TASTEA Horsepower, the MUDMASKY® - Vitamin infused eye serum, and the MATTISSON - Beef collagen powder peptan type I. 😊

TASTEA HORSEPOWER

If you have paid attention, you may have noticed that in my first blog post I talked about the energy boost, but it seems I got the Horsepower tea instead.

Need extra power? Want to feel as strong as 50 horses without eating hay? Fill your tastea tea cup and get ready to feel the power you've been looking for!

When you turn the lid of the tin, you will encounter a lovely soft scent with a sweet touch of raspberry and birch leaf. After you have taken the first sip, the green and white tea will tickle your taste buds and the slightly bitter aftertaste provides a true taste sensation. Close your eyes and savor that sunny autumn day with slightly sweet notes of red fruit while your body comes back into balance!

Ingredients
Green tea China sencha, white tea Pai Mu Tan, birch leaves, horsetail, China white monkey, natural flavor enhancer (raspberry, violet and strawberry flavour), raspberry and mallow.

My opinion on the Tastea Horsepower

The tea smells soft and you immediately get a hint of herbs. I wasn't a big fan of the content of my tin, because with the somewhat longer sticks that were inside it was hard to get them straight away in my filter device.
The taste wasn't bad, though. There was a hint of bitterness, but not too much. The taste of herbs is quite strong, which I kinda like. For me, it was excellent after adding a bit of lemon juice, and if this tea really boosts your resistance, it's just perfect for me. Great way to take care of yourself.

MATTISSON - BEEF COLLAGEN POWDER PEPTAN TYPE 1

Collagen is the most abundant protein in the body and is essential for maintaining connective tissue structure and strength. Our skin, joints, bones, muscles, hair, and nails are made up of collagen. After the age of 25, collagen production gradually declines, and this contributes to the formation of wrinkles, the deterioration of muscles, and the joints becoming less flexible.
Collagen type 1 supports the cohesion, elasticity, and regeneration of all our connective tissues, including the skin, tendons, ligaments, cartilage, and bones. Mattisson Bovine Collagen Hydrolyzate is extracted from the skin of cattle. "Hydrolyzed" means that the proteins have been broken up into smaller pieces by means of enzymes. This makes it more easily absorbed into the body.

My opinion on the Beef Collagen

Be careful with it, because when I used it the first time, the whole counter was sticky. Typically for me, I hadn't weighed it very well and had to scoop some back into the bag. Without spilling, of course. No, of course not, and the moment this product comes into contact with moisture, it becomes a sticky substance.
On the positive, it dissolves well in my fruit juice. On the negative, it rendered my fruit juice slightly bitter, which I am not a fan of, so am trying out other options.

MUDMASKY® - VITAMIN INFUSED EYE SERUM

The skin around our eyes is not only the thinnest but also the most sensitive on our body. It's ten times thinner than the skin on the rest of our face. This makes the eye area the first place where signs of premature skin aging occur, such as dark circles, fine lines, and bags under the eyes. The vitamin eye serum contains a vitamin A blend of all-natural vitamin C. Vitamin C is an essential ingredient for firming the skin. It has a refreshing effect and powerful antioxidant effect. This serum is ideal for all skin types and is considered a superfood for your skin.

My opinion on the Eye Serum

Mudmasky products are among my favorites out of the JouwBox. I really love their leave-on masks, they are so handy.
I haven't been using this serum long enough to see what the benefits are in the long run, but it shows promise after 5 or 6 days of use.
I apply it every morning after cleansing my face. It has the consistency of a gel and you can easily pat it under your eyes. I also gently swipe it over my eyelids and above. When I put it on, I instantly feel the cooling effect of the product. It didn't have a noticeable smell, so that was a significant advantage. Another positive point is that you need little of the product.

Interview with Instagram Influencer Oliana Glazman Sicherman

Hi There..... Do you like Women’s Fashion? Have you been waiting impatiently for another Instagram Influencer interview?

I know it has been some time, and when I just checked to see how long exactly it seemed much longer than I thought. My last Instagram Influencer interview was 3 months ago. 😲

Ah yes, you are probably wondering why it took me so long to come up with a new one. The answer is simple. I prioritize my reviews because I don’t like to leave shops or brands waiting when they sent me an item to review. 😃

It’s also hard to say no, especially when they are fashion items or skin and body care products. Women’s fashion is still my favorite topic, and sometimes all items arrive at the same time. That’s a luxury I don’t often have. It always surprises me when they reach out to me because there are lots of bloggers out there. Must be I am doing something right. 😁

Today, the wait is over, and I am introducing you to Instagram influencer Oliana Glazman Sicherman. She is 31 and only has 27.100 followers, nothing special, right? 😜

Just kidding, haha, it’s a number I can only dream of, and perhaps I will never make it that far. Keep reading if you want to know what her answers to my questions are. 😊

Discover 4 New Ways to Take Care of Yourself - Kneipp® 130th Anniversary

Hi There..... Are you a fan of wellness and body care products? Did you know Kneipp is celebrating their 130th anniversary?

They have a lot of wellness and body care products. If you like to take care of yourself, the Kneipp products are unquestionably something for you. A few days ago they sent me a box to pamper myself. 😊

Cool, right? Who doesn’t like gifts like those? I bet you are as curious as me to find out what was inside this goodies box. To my surprise, they also added grow confetti (some kind of discs that you have to bury in soil, and a plant will grow out of it) and fragrance sticks. 😮

Those fragrance sticks bring back fond memories of childhood holidays with our aunt, uncle, and niece. My dad and his youngest sister were pretty close, and our trips to Wales together were always a lot of fun. The holiday I am talking about was to the Woodhouse Grange when I was about age 12 or 13. I Could have been younger or older, what's in a number. 😜

Our niece had brought some Patchouli fragrance sticks with her. I didn’t love the scent. My niece thought they were so cool and they were quite popular among youngsters, so I did not tell her it was unpleasant to me. 😬

Sadly, she passed away at 51 because of cancer. Way too young. That’s why the scent of Patchouli now has an emotional connection to me. It brings back sweet memories of a past long gone. Ah, I am talking of times when a lot of you weren’t even born. Surely you must have noticed my best friend, age wrinkles. 😁

Ok, time to tell you some more about Kneipp® and the box of body care products I received from them. 😍

A brief history of Kneipp®

It's Kneipp®'s birthday. This year the natural pampering and feel-good brand exist for 130 years. In 1891, the man who started it all, Sebastian Kneipp, founded the brand himself. On the 17th of May, it was also exactly 200 years ago this German pastor, benefactor, and health pioneer was born. So it's a double anniversary.

Sebastian Kneipp is well known in Germany for his effective water cures that are still used in many spas. He has selflessly helped hundreds of people to solve their health problems. He has also written various books such as 'Meine Wasserkur' (my water cure) with tips that are still current and effective (e.g. the cold showers). 2021 is a great year to celebrate his achievements and the fact that we can still enjoy his products.

Kneipp® worldwide

Today, Kneipp sells products in 18 countries worldwide. Also in Japan and America. What started 130 years ago in a pharmacy in Würzburg has grown into a global brand with around 650 employees. 450 of these work in Germany where the products are developed and manufactured with great care for skin compatibility, quality, and durability. The mission of all Kneipp® employees is to offer everyone relaxing, pampering moments every day that contribute to a healthy and happy life.

Kneipp® philosophy

Besides the healing power of water and the action of medicinal herbs, Sebastian Kneipp has been intensively involved in other factors related to human health. The result: his 5-element philosophy. He combines the five elements: water, plants, exercise, nutrition, and balance into a holistic approach to healthy living. This philosophy is still the base for the Kneipp® brand and the development of its products. According to the Kneipp® philosophy, an interplay of all five elements (water, plants, exercise, nutrition, and balance) is essential to feel good and staying healthy and happy.

The Kneipp® philosophy is more relevant today than ever before. It is based on basic principles: living in harmony with nature, sustainability, and mindfulness. For more information, you can visit the website. All elements are explained in detail here. You will also find several water cures from Sebastian Kneipp explained on our website under the heading "magazine", such as the Cold arm bath, which is also called the 'Kneipp espresso'.

Nature's expert

Did you know that Kneipp® has its own product development department and that all its products are developed in close collaboration with renowned natural scientists and independent dermatologists? The products mainly consist of high-quality natural oils and are extensively tested for optimal efficacy, quality, and skin compatibility.

Read My Water-cure

For those who like it... Kneipp's 1st book 'Meine Wasserkur' is also available digitally in English as a PDF.

Gift Set Face Sheet masks

Kneipp® Face Sheet Mask Favorites – This gift box contains the 3 new Sheet masks from Kneipp®. Discover these natural face masks with active vegetable oils that have a positive effect on your skin and your mood. This gift set contains a Sheet mask Hydro Kick, a Sheet mask Detox Care, and a Sheet mask Chill Out.

The sheets are easy to apply to the face and infused with an intensively caring natural serum. They contain no preservatives and microplastics and have a scientifically proven effect. In addition, they make the sheets of 100% natural viscose, which makes them biodegradable.

How to use them?

First, cleanse your face, unfold the mask and apply it to your face. Leave it on for about 10 to 15 minutes before removing it. Then you massage the remaining lotion in or remove it with a cotton pad. I gently peeled it off and massaged it in. Since there was enough product, I applied some to my neck as well.

My opinion?

It smells very fresh. After applying it, my skin felt completely refreshed, and it felt nice and soft too. I still have to try the Detox Care and the Chill out masks, but am looking forward to it. 😃

Fragrance sticks Sandalwood Patchouli

Enchant your senses and calm your mind
The Kneipp® Scented Sticks Sandalwood-Patchouli provide the right atmosphere in the house and create a soothing environment. They create a harmonious environment.

Inspired by nature
The scents of Kneipp® World of Fragrances with natural essential oils are not only pleasant to the nose but also affect well-being. * With natural essential oils * Aromacological competence * Inspired by nature * Made in Germany.

Modern packaging for every interior
These Kneipp® Fragrance Sticks have a modern and minimalist design and use natural materials so that they fit into any interior. A round glass bottle with a purist wooden holder for the sticks. The labels on the glass bottle are easily removable.

How to use them?

It's super easy. You put the number of sticks in the bottle that you like. The bigger the room or the intenser the scent you desire, the more sticks you will need.

My opinion?

I didn't dislike the scent at all and I think it's perfect that you can choose the intensity by putting more or fewer sticks in the bottle. It's a lot safer than the ones we used when I was young because you don't have to put these on fire. Still, beware not to let small children have access to it. 😊

Bath Foam Soft Skin - Almond Blossom

Take care of yourself and your skin with something special: Kneipp® Bath Foam Soft Skin. A bath with nourishing almond oil protects your skin from drying out and leaves the skin feeling soft and supple. The wonderful scent and the bubble bath guarantee a relaxed "feel good" experience.

My opinion?

The only thing I can say about it is that the content of the bottle smells nice. We don't have a bathtub, but I am certain my daughter will gladly accept it. 😏

Moisturizing 24H cream

The nourishing thirst quencher for you and your skin: Kneipp® moisturizing 24h cream with hydro-activating licorice root extract gives your dehydrated skin an extra portion of care and long-lasting hydration thanks to the activation of the skin's own process, which stimulates the production of hyaluronic acid: for an optimal moisture balance during all day. The light, non-greasy texture leaves your skin feeling fresh while the aquatic scent refreshes not only your skin but also your senses.

How to use it?

Apply morning and evening to your cleansed face, neck, and cleavage. Massage in gently and enjoy the pure scent of this hydration booster! Also suitable as basic care under your daily makeup.

My opinion?

The scent of this body care product is very nice and not too powerful. My skin feels velvety soft after applying the cream. I love the pump system, which makes it easier to get the right amount of cream. It also spreads easily so you only need a little. 😎

Review About JouwBox May 2021 - Natural Products Part 2

Hi There..... Are you ready for a follow-up review on the natural products of the most recent JouwBox

What better way to take care of yourself than with natural products, right? 😃

I am dedicating this blog post specifically to the men that are following me because I neglected them last time. Someone pointed out to me that if 80% of my followers are female, it means I left 20% of them in the cold. Not acceptable. 😳

That reminds me of a time I was waiting for a bus when it was freezing outside. My boots were at their end and the soles were wearing thin, so it seemed as if the cold from the pavement went straight through them. 😵

It was getting later in the evening, and I had just missed the bus. That meant I would have to wait for another hour for the next one. Ooh, yes, precisely what I needed. 😏

No, of course not, and to make the situation worse, I failed to take my gloves with me that morning as I left, so my hands felt like ice cubes. I don’t know what happened, but it took 2 hours instead of one for the bus to show up. When I finally got home, it chilled me to the bone, and I had to wrap myself in a blanket to get some warmth into my body again. 😬

Safe to say that being left in the cold is no fun. Then again, I dedicated my blog post of the 12th of May to men. Still, I could consider doing a gift guide for men one or two times a year to restore the balance. 😉

The natural products I tried this time are both for men and women, so no worries. Let's see what you can find in the JouwBox to take care of yourself. 😍

OOLABOO - ECO SHAMPOO BAR 70G

The Oolaboo super foodies eco shampoo bar is shampoo in a solid form, which gives the hair a great shine and condition. Specially added vegetable oils, such as olive oil and sunflower oil, provide hydration to the hair. Argan oil and jojoba oil provide elasticity and protection. Glycerine provides a brilliant shine.
Panthenol, or provitamin B5, calms and restores the scalp and also ensures shiny hair, and has an anti-static effect. A rose-like scent provides a pleasant fragrance experience.

My opinion on the shampoo bar.

I just love the way this shampoo bar smells. You use the shampoo bar by rubbing it between your wet hands or rubbing it directly over your wet hair.

The soap foams well and you can use it just like you normally do with shampoo. It is perfect for travel and especially by plane. I would recommend, though, to buy yourself a soap dish to let it dry out. 😊

ERICA - SHOWER BAR POWER HIBISCUS

Treat yourself to this solid shower bar with nourishing shea butter, sweet almond oil, and aloe vera extract. Surround yourself with the floral scents of chamomile and Indian lotus. Economical in use and suitable for daily cleaning. Use: Apply the shower bar to damp skin while showering and massage the soft foam. Rinse your body thoroughly with water. Store the bar in a dry place after use.

My opinion on the shower bar.

Perhaps this bar was not the one for me, because I threw it away as soon as I tried it out. No, not on purpose, but it slipped out of my hands and flew through the sky, and landed on the other side of the shower.

It is kinda slippery so take your precautions, but it also leaves your skin creamy and soft. I have to say. I am a fan, and it smells heavenly too. A great travel companion also, if you ask me. No liquids oozing out in your luggage. 😎

LEMON-AID - CHARITEA RED

ChariTea is a real brewed tea made from real tea leaves. Only lightly sweetened with agave syrup, very low in calories. No extracts or concentrates used, and no artificial flavors added. ChariTea is the iced tea brand of Lemonaid Beverages. They started the #drinkinghelps revolution in 2009 in Hamburg, to provide a better and more social alternative to the well-known soft drink giants. How? With every bottle, they support social projects in the home countries of the ingredients (Sri Lanka, India, South Africa, Rwanda, Mexico, Paraguay). They have already invested more than € 5,000,000 in over 40 different local projects. In addition, the ingredients are organic and Fairtrade certified.

My opinion on the Lemon-aid.

To be honest, I wasn't looking forward to tasting this one. I have tried all kinds of ice tea and none has ever persuaded me to become a fan. Since my Gastric Bypass, I don't drink any more cola zero or any other kind of lemonade. When it comes to drinking, I am very picky. All I drink now is tea, water, and orange juice. Yes, that's the end of the list, nothing more to add, no alcohol, no coffee. 😋

Oh yes, I realize it's boring, That was before this Lemon-aid crossed my path. Since it is only lightly sweetened it doesn't pose any problems concerning dumpings. This is in my opinion a perfect drink for people that went through Gastric Bypass surgery. I would recommend putting it in the fridge a few hours before drinking it. 😄
