Interview with Fashion Designer Lucianna Martinez

Hi There..... Have you been waiting for a new fashion designer interview? Do you like Brazilian swimwear?


Perhaps you would rather have a fashion stylist interview. If so, I will have to disappoint you. There was one ready to be published, but I didn't have pictures yet. 😳

I have a certain ranking on my blog. First in rank are always my reviews, then I try to alternate between fashion designer, fashion stylist, or fashion influencer interviews. Once a month, I publish a gift guide. If I get a lot of products to review, there are fewer interviews, obviously. 😎

Not sure if you noticed, but this blog is mine, and mine alone. That is not a tremendous problem, of course, because that's just the way I like it. The only thing is I only have two hands to type, and just one brain I can put to work. Wouldn't that be a brilliant invention, an extra brain to get more things done? 😁

Where would we keep that brain? Would we need 2 heads or a bigger head? Perhaps scientists could plant something in our brains to give us more capacity, just as in computers? Then again, after a while, we might want a third brain or even a fourth? Perhaps not the brightest idea after all. You can't blame me, though, since I only have one brain. 😂

Time to get back to that fashion designer interview about Brazilian swimwear. Lucianna Martinez is my star for today. She is 50, and the CEO, designer of Lybethras swimwear. 

What made you decide to become a Fashion Designer? 

My passion for doing things different from what I saw in the stores. Since I was a kid, I design per my dolls, then per my friends, and this became a dream come true.

Is fashion important to you? Why? 

Yes, I love what I do and seeing people happy wearing my designs

What are your successes and how did you achieve them?

My major company made 30 years this year of wealthy and entrepreneurial women's lead.

Is the name of the Brand important to you when you buy clothing?

Yes, and Lybethras means the source of muses in Latin

Describe your personal style of clothing?

Since this Pandemic, we are using more comfy clothes but for going out I love fancy clothes and black and white is my favorite color.

How did you find your personal style? Do you have a signature look? 

I love shirts and denim.


Do you have an influence on other people’s clothing style? 

I love seeing bloggers from Europe and Brazil.

What are in your eyes the best trends at the moment? 

It's summer here in Brazil and Vichy is a trend, and also upcycling. We do bikinis that are made of recycled fabrics and we upcycle them too.

What are in your eyes the worst trends at the moment? 

I really don’t like those short, wide legs. I think they only work if you are skinny and super tall.

What kind of fashion advice would you give us? 

Less is always better when you are in doubt.

Who is your style icon and why? 

Camila Coelho from Brazil.

Where to Find Mini Dolls for Your Dollhouse - KMMiniature Dolls - Handmade Dolls

Hi There..... Do you like handmade dolls? Would you like to learn more about the mini dolls of Katerina Menthe?

You may not know who she is, but that’s not a big problem because I am going to tell you everything you need to know about her and her cute handmade dolls. 😉

Did you play with dolls as a kid? We were 3 girls at home when I was a kid, so there were enough dolls to play with. Although we each had our own. It wasn’t ok just to take each other’s doll and go play with it. 😏

Recently, I came across a picture of when I was about 4, and Saint Nicholas had just brought us new toys. I remember that there were lots of chocolates, and I promptly put one of those in my mouth. It would have been a shame to let it go to waste, right? 😄

There were also 3 dolls, one for each of us. If I remember correctly, mine was a black doll with curly hair. They weren’t handmade dolls, just plain plastic ones, but I still recall I was over the moon with mine. 😊

I have been following Katerina Menthe and her mini dolls for some time on Instagram now. We have been exchanging likes and comments for quite a while. As a thank you, she sent me 2 of the cutest mini dolls, so I wanted to repay the favor by making a blog post about her handmade dolls.

Mini Doll features

I make every doll of 100% cotton and stuffed with fiberfill. Her arms and legs are movable. She has hand-embroidered eyes, nose, and mouth. The doll has handmade clothes and accessories... and her own character :) I work with high-quality materials. I prefer natural fabrics such as cotton, silk, wool, and adore using French lace and Swarovski.


My opinion on the Mini Dolls

Ekaterina gave me the opportunity to choose my favorite doll. I picked one of her 4 inches (10 cm) angel dolls. It quite surprised me to find 2 beautifully wrapped boxes in my package. The boxes contained 2 dolls lying on a bed of shredded paper. 😀

The angel doll I chose has the most beautiful lace gown, and she even has a pair of briefs beneath. Ah yes, I just had to know. Shame on me for being a peeping Tom.


Isn't she super cute with her big green bow? I don't know how Ekatrina does it, but the tiny arms and legs can definitely move, so you can sit her down or lay her to bed if you like. She also has a cute little necklace with a crystal in the middle. Definitely the cutest mini doll I have ever seen.


The other box contained a somewhat flatter and smaller (2.7 inches or 7 cm) doll with a brooch pin on the back. She wears a cute little gold-color crown. Her arms and legs don't move, and she has no briefs, but she would make a lovely addition to your outfit. I am definitely showing her off the next time I am invited somewhere. 😎

These mini dolls are much to delicate and precious to give to small children. They both are 2 tiny pieces of art. 😍

My opinion on the canvas tote bag

I asked to customize my bag with the word Fun, because that's what best describes the feeling I associate with this kind of bag. I can see myself using it for lots of things, including a brief vacation. 😊


It's super handy that you can choose to attach the shoulder strap or not. Another nice detail is that you can adjust these shoulder straps. I love the small leather pulls and extra zipper bags. 😍

Where to Find Quality Jewelry - Carathea and Jools - Gold Ruby Stud Earrings

Hi There..... Do you like quality jewelry? Would you like me to tell you a little about my new gold ruby stud earrings?


What if I would tell you that quality jewelry can also be affordable? If you are buying earrings, you had better be careful, though. I can tell you quite a story about that. 😬

When I was young, I had little pocket money. People that have been reading my blogs for some time know that I am very creative and always have been. 😃

There was a shop about half an hour’s walk from home, where you could buy all kinds of creative supplies. I went there to get me some stuff to make me some fancy earrings. Cool idea, isn't it? 😁

A few days later, I put them together. They turned out extremely cute. Super proud of my earrings, I put them on for school the next day. I was certain to impress my friends, and so I did. What a brilliant move to buy those supplies. Now I didn't have to save for expensive quality jewelry. 😎

By noon my earlobes itched a little, but I thought, who cares. As I got home, I noticed my earlobes were a little red and swollen, but I expected it to pass. 😕

When I tried to put them on the next morning, my earlobes were still a bit swollen. However, I would not go to school without my new earrings, so I fidgeted to get them in. Not the best idea, because it made my ears bleed, and it took me weeks to get them back to normal. 😢

Lesson learned the hard way, but let’s get back to those cute gold ruby stud earrings Carathea Jewelry gifted me in exchange for my honest opinion. 😍

Where to find Tommy Hilfiger Men's Socks - HemdVoorHem

Ah, I know what you are thinking. Yes, I do. You are thinking there is nothing fun or interesting to write on men’s socks. Am I right, or am I right. 😎

They call it life experience when you know what people think. One of the few things that’s great about aging is that you learn a lot throughout the years. Ooh, if you only knew how much wisdom I gained. 😁

I already told you about a fun incident I had with socks a few blog posts ago. Ok, what do you think? Do I still have other stories up my sleeve? You probably thought I wouldn’t, but that’s where you are wrong. This story is quite recent. It was about 5 years ago, when we moved here. I bet it has happened to lots of you losing socks in the laundry. 😉

Where they all go to is a mystery to me. Each time a single sock would come out of the laundry, I would keep them in a separate drawer, hoping to still pair them. That’s just me, always trying to help those poor souls find their mates. 😍

As we moved, I felt it was high time to clean out the drawer. It seems I kinda forgot what I put in there in the first place, because after laying them all out, over half of them weren’t lost souls at all, and had been paired up again. I suppose that this way, at least they didn’t wear out. 😂

Time to get back to those cotton socks I was telling you about. HemdVoorHem sent me these Tommy Hilfiger socks as a gift in exchange for my honest opinion. 😍

My opinion on the men's socks

Since my husband was feeling a bit under the weather, I tried the socks on myself. You immediately feel that they are stretchy, which makes them easy to put on. The cotton is nice and soft. 😊

As some of you know, I am high-sensitive and am easily annoyed when my toe seam isn't in the exact right spot. These socks don't have that problem, so I think they will vanish into my sock drawer. Let's keep it a secret between you and me. 😏

Interview with Fashion Designer Michaela Vybohova

Hi There..... Would you like to learn some new insights into the fashion industry? Are you ready for another Fashion Designer interview? 

Maybe you weren't ready to read my fashion designer interview, and you are reading this some time after I published my blog post because you were doing Christmas shopping. I sure hope you got everything you need and have your feet up on the couch by now. Don't you just love that feeling after walking around all day? 😌

Rest and a hot cup of cocoa, perhaps with some whipped cream. Since my Gastric Bypass, I can't drink it anymore the way I used to. Most of you might not celebrate Saint Nicholas day, but a lot of West Christian countries do. The good man always brought a lot of toys and chocolate figures to well-behaved children. 😍

We ate a lot of the chocolate but our mom also used it to make us that lovely cup of cocoa. It was super easy. All she had to do was put a small pan on the stove and drop in some small pieces of the chocolate. Heat it and done. 😀

My favorite time was on Sunday morning when mom had gone to the baker for some fresh buns. I would just spread butter on it and dip them in my hot cocoa. Delicious, I assure you. 😋

Those were such fond memories, but let's get back on track with that fashion designer interview I promised. Who is the lucky one that gets featured this time, or perhaps I should be happy to feature her. 😊

Michaela Vybohova is 26, and she's my star for today. She is the founder and fashion designer of Michaela V footwear and a model with Wilhelmina. 


What kind of work do you do, or what are you studying to be? 

My day job is still a fashion model but since I started my own brand I had to be in every position from designer to ceo to marketing to warehouse fulfillment to janitor. 

What made you decide to become a Fashion Designer?

Since I was little I loved high fashion, I used to watch shows, collect editorials. I’ve had my favorites, but we couldn’t afford it. 
When I started modeling and got to meet some of my heroes and work for them, I always thought of every girl just like me and wondered what can I do to contribute, if even a little. I decided to make, create a line where the 2 worlds of quality, fashion would collide, and cut the margin to the best I can. 
That’s how Michaela V footwear started. 

Is fashion important to you? Why?

It lets you show who you are without having to say a word.

What are your successes, and how did you achieve them?

I think one of my biggest successes was starting my company, and it was not a simple journey. It took some serious blood, sweat and tears, but there’s no better feeling than having someone tell you they love wearing your shoes.

Is the name of the Brand important to you when you buy clothing?

Not at all, but I am a sucker for quality. As long as it’s an excellent material, I couldn’t care less about a brand's name. 

Describe your personal style of clothing?

If Hillary Clinton had a passion for heavy metal lol.
I love my leather pants as much as I love my blazers and dressy shirts all together. 

How did you find your personal style? Do you have a signature look? 

I think it depends on how I feel that day. 
But my signature I guess is leather pants, and a tailored shirt. 

Do you have an influence on other people’s clothing style?

Couple of my girlfriends will send me pictures sometimes “omg I look like you today” it always makes me laugh and I pretend that I have no clue what they are talking about. 

What are in your eyes the best trends at the moment?

I try to not follow trends and wear what makes me the most comfortable and confident. 
But what I’m seeing more are natural gem colors and I’m all here for it. I love it. 

What are in your eyes the worst trends at the moment?

I don’t think there is such a thing. If you love something, go girl! Or man.

What kind of fashion advice would you give us?

Confidence is sexy, therefore dress accordingly to whatever “floats your boat” and makes you feel good. 

Who is your style icon and why?

My momma, she always looks like a million bucks on any kind of budget, I don’t get it but clearly she does :)

Is there something else you would like to share with us?

Just that no matter who you are and where you are, I believe in you and you can make anything happen.
